I Really Am A Villain
Ch. 434 - Eight-Star Heaven-Locking Formation

The eight beams of light carried an overwhelmingly evil aura, turning the sky above Tranquil Heaven City pitch black.

A mighty pressure spread like dark clouds piling up in the sky, creating a tense, stormy atmosphere.

“It’s a formation,” Mo Ye said from the side.

“Looks like they’re planning something big. They want to wipe all of us out,” Yellow Star snorted.

“Can you tell what kind of formation it is?” Yellow Sun asked with a slight frown.

“Seems to be the Eight-Star Heaven-Locking Formation.”

“That’s trouble.”

Ignoring the whispers among the group, the three black-robed figures stopped in front of everyone.

One of them sneered and said, “Feeling hopeless yet?”

“Courting death,” Yellow Star, known for his fiery temper, immediately launched an attack with his palm.

His aura as an Empyrean Meridian cultivator surged, and thick, dark yellow spiritforce swirled around him.

This palm strike shattered the space in front of him, descending with overwhelming force.

The black-robed man struck back as well, his hand surrounded by black spiritforce carrying corrosive power, clashing directly with Yellow Star.

Boom!

The two were forced apart, and a powerful shockwave spread out, shattering the stone floor beneath them.

Yellow Star stood his ground without moving, while the black-robed man stumbled back several steps, his figure unsteady.

“A mere Imperial Meridian dares act so arrogant,” Yellow Star snorted.

From this exchange, he figured out that the three black-robed figures were only at the peak of the Imperial Meridian Realm.

Meanwhile, the three from the Empire’s Yellow Division were all Empyrean Meridian cultivators.

“You were the ones who lured the demon spirits outside, weren’t you?” Mo Ye said calmly.

“I was wondering why those usually timid demon spirits dared to leave the Phoenix Perch Demon Forest. Looks like your Heretic God Cult went to great lengths.”

Mo Ye had already guessed this earlier. These people must have been wary of him.

Otherwise, why bother using demon spirits as a cover instead of attacking the city directly?

“Seems you still don’t understand your situation,” the black-robed man chuckled.

Yellow Sun frowned and said to the others, “Be careful of this formation. It must be their trump card. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have waited for us to arrive.”

Xu Zimo looked up slightly. At this point, the sky had completely changed, dark clouds churned, and the heavens were pitch black.

Black spiritforce covered the entire sky, and the eight beams of light around the city had become eight massive pillars standing between heaven and earth.

They connected all the way to the sky.

An invisible force seemed to blanket the entire city of Tranquil Heaven.

Booming explosions echoed nearby.

At the center of the sky, the black energy became even deeper, as if something was being born within it.

“Does anyone know what this formation does?” Yellow Sun asked, thinking aloud.

He’d only heard of it before, it was said to be a secret formation developed by the Heretic God Cult.

As for its actual effects, he wasn’t sure.

“Never heard of it,” the others all shook their heads.

Once the energy in the sky reached a critical point, the three black-robed men rose into the air.

Three beams of black light descended from the sky, enveloping them.

Bathed in the black glow, the three began to laugh wickedly.

Yellow Star frowned, clearly irritated.

Power surged around him, and a dragon’s roar echoed behind him.

A massive yellow dragon, over a hundred meters long, coiled behind him.

Standing on the dragon’s back, he charged straight at the black-robed man in the middle.

The dragon roared to the sky, and storms of spiritforce raged in all directions.

The black-robed man remained calm. A black light flashed on his right index finger as he casually pointed at Yellow Star.

Boom! Before anyone could react, Yellow Star was blasted backward.

The space where he stood completely collapsed.

Clanking chain sounds echoed around them.

A pitch-black chain fell from the sky and branded itself onto Yellow Star’s body before disappearing from sight.

“You okay?” Yellow Moon asked, worried.

“I-” Yellow Star started to speak but immediately felt something was wrong.

“My meridian gate has been sealed.”

His face turned pale with shock. Sealing a meridian gate was an incredibly difficult feat.

It was known that only Meridian-Sealing Powder could achieve this.

But that powder could only temporarily seal cultivators below the Desolate Meridian Realm.

To seal the meridian gate of an Empyrean Meridian Realm cultivator, nearly impossible.

“Eight-Star Heaven-Locking Formation,” Yellow Sun said slowly, squinting.

“It’s because of the formation?” the others quickly realized and looked up at the sky.

“Finally figured it out?” the black-robed men laughed from above.

“In this Heaven-Locking Formation, we can seal up to eight cultivators who haven’t reached the Immortal Path,” one of them said.

“This formation is an exclusive creation of our True God Cult. We adapt with the times and walk at the forefront of a new era. You weaklings will either die or submit.”

“Can’t you break the seal on your own?” Yellow Sun asked with a strained expression.

Yellow Star tried. His face turned red from the effort, but he finally shook his head helplessly.

“Call for backup from the Empire,” Yellow Moon said, crushing a jade token in her hand.

“It’s too late. Even if they use the teleportation array, it’ll take a few hours to get here,” Yellow Sun shook his head, clearly not hopeful.

“Besides, they’ll definitely destroy the teleportation array. The Empire won’t be able to send anyone to this remote city in time.”

In the sky, the three black-robed men grew stronger by the second.

They looked down coldly at the Yellow Division members.

Then the three of them pointed with their right hands again.

Three more chains fell rapidly from the sky.

“Not good, dodge!” Yellow Sun’s expression changed, and he quickly called out.

He blinked out of place, trying to avoid the incoming chains.

But the chains seemed to have tracking abilities, refusing to let go of the Yellow Division and Mo Ye.

Only Xu Zimo stood on the side, watching.

Booming sounds echoed around them.

Realizing dodging wouldn’t work, the others charged at the black-robed men.

Their auras surged, true life spirits appeared, they were at the end of their rope.

The black-robed men didn’t panic. As the Yellow Division closed in, they raised their hands again.

Clanking sounds followed as three more chains dropped from the sky.

The Eight-Star Heaven-Locking Formation allowed control of eight chains at once.

As six chains closed in from all sides, the Yellow Division and Mo Ye couldn’t escape and were all struck.

Once their meridian gates were sealed, they fell from the sky.

Boom, they crashed hard into the ground.

The three from the Yellow Division and Mo Ye got back on their feet, all looking grim.

They tried to break the seals inside them, but it was useless.

“We’re done,” Yellow Star said anxiously.

“We’ve traveled across half the Phoenix Perch Empire without fear. Who would've thought we’d fall here today.”
