I Really Am A Villain
Ch. 411 - Carefree Water

Xu Zimo pulled Yue Qingli away.

He had figured out that the middle-aged man calling himself God-Diviner was actually someone from Celestial Secrets Valley.

Celestial Secrets Valley was a very unique existence in the Northern Continent.

The cultivation techniques they practiced were mysterious, allowing them to glimpse into the River of Fate.

But compared to Xu Zimo, who could directly travel through the River of Fate, Celestial Secrets Valley’s so-called glimpsing was just seeing a corner of it.

The accuracy of such glimpses was low, and it consumed a great deal of lifespan.

Even experts who had reached the Immortal Realm didn’t dare to overuse it.

Because this would provoke heavenly tribulation.

Heaven’s punishment was very severe, it wouldn’t just strike the one who peeked, but also everyone connected to that person.

That was why every generation of Celestial Secrets Valley disciples would completely cut ties with the valley once they left.

The saying “Once you leave the Valley, you no longer speak of fate” came from this.

That way, even if they were later punished for peeking into the River of Fate, they wouldn’t drag Celestial Secrets Valley down with them.

Celestial Secrets Valley was also very smart in its actions.

Under normal circumstances, they wouldn’t interfere in worldly affairs unless something extraordinary happened.

So when Yue Qingli directly asked who his enemy was, that middle-aged man definitely wasn’t going to say.

...

Yue Qingli was a bit disappointed, but still trusted Xu Zimo.

As the two walked away, the man called God-Diviner frowned slightly.

He couldn’t see through Xu Zimo.

If Xu Zimo recognized he was from Celestial Secrets Valley, then the fate he just revealed was very likely true.

Yet Xu Zimo didn’t seem to care, as if he had already expected it or didn’t mind at all.

Although he had paid a price to glimpse into the River of Fate and could clearly see Xu Zimo’s destined path,

half of that fate was shrouded in fog.

He couldn’t see what was inside the mist.

The teleportation array was ready, and Xu Zimo and Yue Qingli set off toward the Celestial Tiger Empire.

This teleportation array was more advanced than any Xu Zimo had taken before, faster and more comfortable.

About half a month later, after a boring journey through space-time,

they arrived in the Celestial Tiger Empire, located on the western edge of the Northern Continent.

Among the Thirty-Six Empires, the Celestial Tiger Empire ranked slightly below average in power.

It was also one of the later-founded empires.

The tiger was the national totem.

No matter the species, tigers here were treated exceptionally well.

According to the information provided earlier by Situ Yunfei, the location where one of the Five Spirit Orbs, the Wind-Destroying Pearl, had appeared was within the Celestial Tiger Empire’s borders, in a place called Deepsky Valley.

Coincidentally, the city they teleported to was not far from there.

The city was called Carefree City.

After asking around, Xu Zimo learned that from Carefree City, heading north for about three hours would get them to Deepsky Valley.

However, the valley had already been taken over by the Celestial Tiger imperial family, and no outsiders were allowed in.

Xu Zimo wasn’t in a hurry though, without the pearl’s companion artifact, all those people were just wasting their time.

Around sunset, Xu Zimo booked a room at an inn in Carefree City.

He asked Yue Qingli to stay at the inn while he went out to gather intel.

Yue Qingli was too weak, and bringing him along might risk exposure.

The Five Spirit Orbs were too influential across the entire Primordial Heartlands.

Most people treated them like myth, but Xu Zimo didn’t want to make too much noise until he had gathered all five.

"You be careful," Yue Qingli said, "I heard something strange in Carefree City today."

"What strange thing?" Xu Zimo asked, surprised.

"You know why this place is called Carefree City?" Yue Qingli looked around and whispered.

Xu Zimo shook his head. He hadn’t really thought about it.

"Apparently, every so often at night, an old woman appears on the streets pushing a small cart," Yue Qingli said mysteriously.

"In the cart is something called Carefree Water. They say if you drink it, you’ll forget all the worries in your life."

"What’s that got to do with me?" Xu Zimo asked.

"Everyone has worries," Yue Qingli replied.

"People say it’s best not to go out at night. If you run into that old woman, she’ll force you to drink the water, and then you’ll lose all your memories."

"Now that’s interesting," Xu Zimo said with a smile.

An item that erases memory was extremely rare and expensive.

Most people wouldn’t even have access to it, let alone waste it giving it to strangers.

"Teacher, what’s your biggest worry?" Yue Qingli asked curiously.

"Being too handsome, does that count?" Xu Zimo laughed.

...

As night fell, the people of Carefree City had already shut their doors.

The streets were empty.

The moonlight was partly covered by thin dark clouds.

The light was dim.

Xu Zimo walked through the streets. The air wasn’t cold, and the trees on either side swayed gently.

He walked to the city gates but didn’t encounter the so-called old woman selling Carefree Water.

He actually wanted to meet her, but it seemed he didn’t get the chance.

He walked out of the city gate, oriented himself, and headed toward Deepsky Valley.

He moved quickly and arrived at the valley in about two hours.

From above, the entire valley looked like an upside-down bowl pressed into the earth.

It was lush with vegetation and patrolled by nearly a thousand soldiers.

Xu Zimo didn’t dare to linger, afraid of being discovered.

The place was heavily guarded. Due to the dense foliage, he couldn’t see the entrance to the inheritance site.

But he could guess its location based on where the soldiers were most concentrated.

Wherever the guard was heaviest was likely where the entrance lay.

Xu Zimo put on a black night cloak, completely concealing himself.

Then with a wave of his right hand, the figure of the Mad Blood Demon appeared beside him.

He crouched in a dense bush nearby, and Xu Zimo waved again.

The old demon’s body burst out with powerful sacred energy.

The moment that aura exploded, a shockwave radiated out from him.

With a loud boom, the Mad Blood Demon leapt into the air and charged toward Deepsky Valley.

His presence was overwhelming. With every step, the space beneath his feet shattered.

The thunderous sounds echoed around him.

The moment he appeared, he was spotted by the patrolling soldiers.
