I Really Am A Villain -
Ch. 284 - The Five Immortals
As the five overwhelming Immortal auras surged through the sky, everyone in the Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground looked up, their faces filled with shock.
Black mist shrouded the heavens, leaving outsiders in the dark, unable to see what was happening, only able to anxiously guess.
Inside the black mist, the five Immortal auras combined to suppress the entire Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground.
Five Immortal Path powerhouses stepped out from the void, their terrifying aura almost tearing the sky apart.
"Five Immortals?" someone from Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground cried out in despair.
To most, even witnessing one Immortal in a lifetime was rare. Seeing five at once was an unimaginable shock.
All five wore white robes, with immortal elegance and grace. Their boundless aura surged like a storm tide across the heavens.
Two of them were Immortal Sovereigns, two were in the Arcane Immortal Realm, and the one in the center radiated an even greater presence, an Undying Immortal.
“Greetings, my lord,” the five said, bowing slightly as Xu Zimo appeared.
Xu Zimo nodded with a smile.
These five were from the Divine Gate, personally summoned by Xu Zimo from the Elden Lands through the favor of the God Emperor.
Though with Paimon by his side, Xu Zimo hadn’t feared the Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground, he didn’t want to waste time. Since his goal was to exterminate them, he might as well crush it with overwhelming force.
He hadn’t let these five reveal themselves earlier for fear of alerting the enemy, he wanted them to stay and fight, not flee.
…
Now, with all five Immortals revealed, both Ancestor Absolute Dao and Ancestor Heaven-Breaker turned pale.
“Who… are you really?” Heaven-Breaker asked, stunned.
“The man here to destroy your lineage. What’s with all the questions?” Xu Zimo replied with a smile.
He hovered high above, ignoring Dark River’s dazed expression beside him.
With a wave of his hand, he declared calmly: “No one in the Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground is to be spared.”
As Xu Zimo’s voice echoed across the skies, the five Immortals radiated immense energy.
Blinding immortal light blazed across the heavens like the Milky Way falling from the sky.
Boom! The firmament shattered under their sheer might.
The five Immortals descended like divine comets, stepping through and annihilating space as they charged directly into the Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground.
“Activate the grand protective array!” Heaven-Breaker roared, then leapt into battle.
Absolute Dao narrowed his eyes and unsheathed a three-foot-long sword from his waist.
A nine-foot beam of radiant sword light shot from the blade, slicing through half the sky as it fell from above.
He, too, charged forward in rage, blade in hand.
The seven combatants clashed in midair, shaking the heavens and darkening the earth. Storms of energy roared across the skies.
Explosions echoed for hundreds of miles around.
Those unaware of the full situation looked up and saw the sky itself cracked like a giant spiderweb, as if the heavens were about to collapse.
Thunder boomed like it was detonating inside their skulls.
The magnitude of the battle was visible even from afar, it was clearly a brutal war.
The only regret was that the center of the battlefield was shrouded in demonic energy.
No one could see what was happening inside.
…
Even with five Immortals from the Elden Lands, they couldn't gain the upper hand immediately.
Heaven-Breaker, with his Zenith Immortal cultivation, was simply too strong.
He alone fought off four Immortals, and still held his ground with ease.
Xu Zimo narrowed his eyes, watching the tide of battle.
Heaven-Breaker’s strength had exceeded his expectations.
It proved the old saying:
“The martial path is hard, as hard as climbing the sky. Every step is a new realm.”
In the later stages, even a small difference in realm made a vast difference in strength.
Heaven-Breaker slammed a palm downward. The space that had just begun to mend was shattered once again.
He stepped back slightly, his immortal aura growing even more intense.
He looked at Xu Zimo and said calmly:
“We can still end this peacefully. If you leave now, we won’t pursue you. What do you say?”
“If you’ve got a trump card, use it. I didn’t come here to leave,” Xu Zimo replied, shaking his head.
Heaven-Breaker’s eyes flashed. From his storage ring, he slowly pulled out a painting.
His expression turned solemn as he carefully unfurled it.
The painting showed a man, or rather, the back of a man.
He wore a golden robe and had short hair.
The image radiated an otherworldly, transcendent aura.
As the painting was unveiled, a terrifying Grand Emperor’s Might burst into the sky like a tidal wave.
In that moment, no matter how strong one’s Immortal power was, they were all suppressed.
It was as if the Grand Emperor’s presence was the absolute ruler of the world.
The sky roiled. Grand Emperor’s Might pierced through the clouds.
Everyone across the Holyflower Region felt the pressure of that imperial presence.
It weighed heavily on the hearts of all living beings, triggering flashes of past memories,
Of battles waged to ascend to the imperial throne, of corpses paving the road to the heavens.
In that moment, the man in the painting seemed to come alive, slowly turning around.
The heavens shattered, storms howled.
His face was clearly drawn, but somehow cloaked in mist. No one could make it out clearly.
It was bizarre, impossible to grasp or describe.
…
“That’s the portrait of our Founder!” the elders of the Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground exclaimed excitedly.
They all dropped to their knees and shouted the name of Grand Emperor Jue Tian.
“Before ascending, our Founder painted this self-portrait himself and gave it to Ancestor Heaven-Breaker.”
An elder who knew the backstory whispered.
“The Founder is wise and holy.”
As the figure in the painting turned, a massive hand emerged from the canvas.
It shattered space with ease, pressing down toward the five Immortals of the Divine Gate.
With a flick, the heavens changed, an ancient, boundless force rippled through the sky.
Boom! Half the sky collapsed. The five Immortals were flung away violently,
All injured from just one strike.
As the hand struck, a crack appeared in the painting.
When the hand reached out again, aiming to suppress them once more, another crack split across the artwork.
Xu Zimo narrowed his eyes and said coolly:
“So Grand Emperor Jue Tian really did pull out all the stops. He actually left behind a trace of his true soul in this painting.”
“Before his soul shatters, it’s enough to suppress you,” Heaven-Breaker said flatly.
“In that case,” Xu Zimo replied calmly, “Let’s finish this.”
Heaven-Breaker was taken aback.
He looked at Xu Zimo with confusion.
