Chapter 69 - Scaling the Chain of Production!
Chapter 69: Chapter 69 - Scaling the Chain of Production!
Lucius looked before him and saw three of his employees working like crazy, trying to craft everything that had been ordered online. Let’s just say that there was a lot.
To make things simpler for everyone to follow, Lucius had brought a big blackboard to the crafting stations and had written everything that needed to be done.
[Items to craft]
[x123 Love Potions]
[x235 Erotic Perfumes]
[x344 Invisibility Potions]
If they were actually able to complete all the orders by tonight, then... they would be richer than ever before. But if they failed, something scary would happen. At least, that’s what Aphrodite and Lilith had indicated frequently over the past hours.
There was a small problem, though: the number of people working versus the number of orders they had received. Now that the employees had gotten the hang of things.
One Love Potion required over five minutes to craft, which meant that one person could make 12 potions per hour. If you multiplied this by 3, it meant 36 Love Potions per hour. To complete the order of Love Potions, it would take around 3.5 hours.
And, truth be told, that wasn’t too long of a time. But the Love Potion was the fastest item to craft. The other two required much longer times, which would make things quite hard to accomplish.
The average time to craft one Erotic Perfume was 10 minutes, making it possible to craft 18 Erotic Perfumes per hour. That would take theoretically 13 hours and a few minutes to craft, which left only eight hours to craft over 344 Invisibility Potions, which was impossible based on the time it would take to craft each one.
That’s why Lucius was currently trying to find a way to either increase the average speed or simply increase the number of crafting tables.
The first option was complicated since it required his current employees to get much faster than they were right now, which was borderline impossible to accomplish within a day. So, the only real option was to get new crafting tables to increase the production chain.
But Lucius had no idea how to enlarge the store. He could only do it with the help of the system. He didn’t see any other options.
"What happens if we don’t fulfill all our orders?" Lucius asked again, as both Lilith and Aphrodite had been dodging that answer for quite some time. They kept trying their best not to answer, as if they were scared of even talking about it.
"Mhm... well, we will get bad reviews on the Multiverse Forum, which will make selling items a lot harder than before. And the second thing that will happen is that..." Aphrodite had literal shivers appearing all over her body before she answered, "One of the Multiverse Officials will come and visit the store to make sure that we are not running a scam or something."
"Multiverse Officials? What are those?"
"They are the police of the Multiverse. They are the ones who regulate everything that happens between worlds."
Lucius listened to her and still couldn’t understand why she looked so scared of them. If they were police, as long as they didn’t do anything wrong, there was nothing to worry about, right?
"Why are they so scary, anyway?"
"Because... no one can beat them. They are the strongest beings in the entire universe. They are even more powerful than the Gods themselves. With a flick of their fingers, I could be sent across the room on the brink of death. That’s why they are scary."
"But we aren’t doing anything illegal... why would they attack us in the first place?"
Aphrodite shook her head, unable to believe how naive Lucius was. Police could decide to act on impulse at any given time. Who knew what they would do if they came here? That’s why everyone in the multiverse tried their best to stay out of the Multiverse Officials’ way. It was too great a risk to break the rules.
"We need to order a lot more crafting stations before the deadline."
Aphrodite and Lilith both were dead serious as they said that.
It also seemed that they could order some on the Multiverse Delivery System.
However, Lucius hesitated when he saw the price of an individual crafting station. There was also the issue of the size of each crafting station. They were quite large; each was five square meters. A single station took up a good chunk of the room. At most, they could add one more crafting station with the current size of the Multiverse General Store.
-Ding!
[You can increase the size of your crafting room. However, the cost will be large.]
[Cost: 40,000 Universal Gold Coins]
[Time to build: 2 Days]
[Cost to build in one hour: 60,000 Universal Gold Coins]
Lucius was about to lose his mind.
All of the profit he had made yesterday would pretty much go into this upgrade.
"How much bigger will it get?"
-Ding!
[The crafting room will double in size.]
That meant there would now be 6 crafting stations. However, the problem was that Lucius did not have many Universal Gold Coins left to buy the new crafting stations after the size increase.
On the Multiverse Delivery System, it cost 4,000 Universal Gold Coins to buy a single crafting table.
Lucius did the calculations in his head.
He currently had a little over 75,000 Universal Gold Coins from all the sales he had made recently.
He would only have 3,000 Universal Gold Coins left by the end of this. However, if he managed to complete all the orders he had received, he would get reimbursed in one go and would make even more than that. It would be well enough to buy the security upgrade for the store.
’Fuck it. Let’s do it,’ Lucius thought as he started buying everything needed to increase his chain of production.
It was time for the Multiverse General Store to scale.
