Chapter 32: Chapter 32 - Awkward Limousine Ride

Things in the limousine were definitely... awkward, to say the least.

Lucius and Aphrodite were seated on one side of the car while Axel and his bodyguards occupied the other side.

The discussion had been progressing in pretty strange directions, but Lucius knew that it was only polite to answer the man’s questions.

"You two seem quite close to each other. How long have you known each other exactly?"

Ever since they had gotten inside the car, Axel had begun showing more and more interest in Aphrodite. He did so much more respectfully than his son, Alex. However, the interest was certainly still there.

And since it was still within the limits of respect, Lucius did not mind answering such questions as long as they didn’t insult him as a person.

"We’ve known each other for..."

"Three months."

"Two days."

Aphrodite and Lucius gave completely different answers.

Lucius was the one who had lied through his teeth while Aphrodite hadn’t.

"Haha! So, who’s telling the truth?"

Aphrodite looked strangely at Lucius, wondering why he would go as far as to lie about such a simple thing.

Lucius subtly passed his hand behind her back and pinched her, trying to signal her to keep her mouth shut.

However, it didn’t have the desired effect.

"Ow! Why are you pinching me?"

Lucius just sighed.

This goddess had no real idea how the world worked among humans. She had most likely never experienced conversations where people lied to each other. Lucius found it strange, but he imagined that Aphrodite was quite the naive goddess who always obtained what she desired based on her looks.

He could be wrong. But that was the impression he had gotten over the short time he had spent with her.

Axel began laughing. "I’ll take it that she’s the one who told the truth. So, how did you two meet?"

Lucius immediately noticed that snarly smile, and he hated it.

He knew what was going on in that old man’s head, and he hated it to his very core. How dare he desire one of his women!

"We met randomly when Aphrodite visited my shop two days ago, and ever since then... it’s been total love between us. Isn’t that right?"

Lucius made sure to put a lot of emphasis on the word "love." He wanted the man before him to know that he had no chance, even if he hadn’t yet shown his true intentions. Lucius knew that no one could resist a woman like Aphrodite. Her charm and beauty were on a completely different level than humans, after all.

As the words came out of Lucius’s mouth, Aphrodite felt her heart beating faster and faster in an instant. It was almost as if she had been starstruck by what Lucius had just said.

For a moment, she even froze.

"L-Love?"

She turned to Lucius as Axel’s smile grew bigger at the hesitation in Aphrodite’s voice.

"Do you really mean it?" Aphrodite asked, her cheeks bright red. "D-Do you love me?"

"Of course! Who wouldn’t love a beautiful woman like you?" Lucius said with a big smile as Aphrodite immediately jumped into his arms and gave him a long, tight hug.

Lucius almost fell over from how strongly she had come onto him. But alas, he resisted as he could feel her whole body pressed against his.

"I love you, too~!" she whispered in the moment, before adding out loud, "D-Does that mean that you’ll stop having Alicia around now that you chose me?"

Axel was mind-blown this time.

’Does he have another woman other than this beauty?’ He couldn’t believe it. ’Does that mean that I still have a chance?!’

Seconds ago, all the hope he had gained had vanished, but now that Aphrodite had revealed that there was another woman in the frame, it was still possible to get her for himself.

’She would be a great fit as my wife...’ Axel thought as his mind immediately imagined her naked while he began touching and fondling her perfect figure. Still, he was quickly brought back to reality.

"No, Alicia will still remain. It’s not because I love you that I can’t love someone else. You know that, right?"

Aphrodite immediately let go of Lucius and pouted, looking away from him, acting angry.

"Tsk! Why do you even like her anyway? She’s not better than me in any way! I’m smarter, cuter, hotter, better at... I-I have everything!"

"Stop."

Lucius’s voice was ice cold, and his gaze was even icier as his eyes locked onto Aphrodite’s, who immediately stopped talking.

"Stop acting like a child here. I’m the one who decides. You understand, right?"

Aphrodite gulped as she felt the pressure from Lucius.

"Y-Yes..."

"Not good enough," Lucius uttered with a frown.

He could feel the gaze from Axel and his bodyguards, who were shocked by how cold Lucius was acting with this beauty.

"Y-Yes... master."

Lucius smiled smugly as she said it. He even looked toward Axel to tell him that he was the one who controlled her, not him.

However, Lucius had forgotten that Axel was not a man he could easily beat. He had a lot of influence, money, and, more importantly, power.

As he noticed how Lucius was treating Aphrodite, he thought it was the perfect opportunity to act and try to get Aphrodite away from him for good.

"Why are you treating her like your slave? This is pathetic!" he shouted in the car. "You can’t treat the people you love like this!"

He stood up from his seat and tried to place his hand on Aphrodite’s body, but as soon as he did so... Lucius just smiled. He remembered how Aphrodite had been the first time they had met before she had gotten under the control of the Love Potion.

Her pink eyes suddenly brightened as her jaw clenched.

"Did you just try to touch me?" she said as she immediately moved closer to Lucius’s side, not letting Axel even touch her.
