Chapter 31: Chapter 31 - Unexpected Situation

He had just been played like never before.

Signing this deal meant that he had just given the man before him over 50% of all revenue from the sales of this product. However, the list he had been given was impossible to understand.

Most ingredients, if not all, seemed to come straight out of a fantasy novel.

At first, Axel thought that Lucius was playing a trick on him, but he quickly realized that he was dead serious.

"What do you mean? How can that be the real list?!"

Lucius just smirked. "Because that is exactly what I used to craft those two inventions. If you really wish to, I could show you where I did it. But that would cost a few more percentage points from you."

That had been Lucius’s original plan since the very beginning. He wanted to have at least 80% of all revenue from the sales, and since he was the one who could supply the ingredients, he knew that he had the advantage when negotiating.

"And where is that exactly?"

"Ask both your sons. They’re the ones who found me in the first place."

Axel frowned as he looked at his son, who seemed almost shocked that he was mentioned in the conversation once again.

"I-It’s in some strange alley in the middle of nowhere... But he’s telling the truth. That’s actually what he uses to make the items he has... and based on the effects, it’s not that crazy that those are the actual ingredients, no?"

Axel thought for a moment, unable to ignore the words coming out of his son’s mouth.

"How much could we buy the products from you?" Axel suddenly asked Lucius. "You handle the production, and we will be the ones selling the products to famous and rich people all around the world. What do you think?"

Lucius thought for a moment, as he hadn’t expected to have reached this point so quickly. He had expected that he would have to show where the shop was located and how he got the ingredients. But it seemed that Axel did not care at all for the moment.

It was unexpected for him to believe his son right away. After all, what he had just said seemed absolutely crazy for any normal person.

"You would buy them at retail price. If you want to make a cut, you would have to increase the price. As for production, I would have to check how many we can make daily. But that shouldn’t be too much of a problem."

With all of the new employees he had obtained, having a good chain of production shouldn’t be too hard, all things considered.

"Retail price?!" Axel’s eyes widened as he couldn’t believe the words coming out of that man’s mouth. However, even then, Lucius stayed calm.

"My products are of very high quality. That’s why I sell them at such a price. They are also things that you cannot find anywhere else. I’m sure that a lot of men and women around the world will do everything in their power to obtain those powers. I think you underestimate how things can evolve from here."

Lucius knew that he only had two products for the time being. But it was only a question of time before he obtained more and more products by leveling up his shop.

Thinking about his shop, Lucius decided to glance at one of the new features he had obtained: Store Status. He thought about it, and a detailed information sheet appeared before him, telling him exactly what was going on inside the Multiverse General Shop.

[Store Status]

[Condition: Poor]

[Rundown of the situation: A few customers have tried entering the store. However, they were quickly turned around by the one in charge: Alicia Amastacia. She is currently enraged by your decision to leave with Aphrodite and has decided to take it out on the store. The surrounding employees are also on the verge of making her crash out.]

[Advice: Return and control the situation as fast as possible. Your return should calm Alicia right away. Leaving the store too long in a poor condition could make it harder for you to receive quests and level up the store further.]

[You have also received an online review on the Multiverse Forum.]

[Click here to check it out.]

Lucius frowned as he began reading what had been happening, unable to believe it.

He immediately clicked on the said review. He had no idea what the Multiverse Forum was, but he knew that getting a negative review on a new store could be detrimental in the future.

[Rating: 0.1/5]

[Customer Rank: 2]

[World: AF-2145]

[ElfSlayer23: I went to the store, and an aggressive elf almost tried to kill me. I only tried to say hello to her. After that, she kicked me out of the store before I could even do anything. Please get rid of this employee as fast as possible!]

Lucius could only shake his head as he read this.

"Is something wrong?" Axel immediately asked as he saw the look on Lucius’s face.

He looked annoyed and disappointed more than anything else. But it was surprising based on how this conversation was going.

Lucius hesitated at first, knowing that he wouldn’t be here for much longer. But at the same time, he wondered just how much damage Alicia could do to his store’s reputation in such little time. And, long story short, it was a lot.

’Just you wait until I get back. I’ll have to punish her like never before.’

Lucius clenched his jaw as he tried to remain calm. However, he could feel his blood boiling.

He had trusted Alicia with very simple tasks, and she hadn’t even been able to handle them because of her jealousy.

Lucius would have to get her under control when he returned. Otherwise, he might have no choice but to fire her, just as the review suggested.

Lucius began standing up, surprising everyone in the room.

"I’m terribly sorry. However, it seems that there are some problems currently occurring around my shop. I need to pay attention to it right away."

Axel frowned. "And how do you know that exactly? You haven’t even gotten a call or checked your phone."

Lucius continued smiling widely. "You can call it a... special instinct. Now, if you wouldn’t mind, I will come here tomorrow to conclude this deal."

"Nonsense! Let me come with you. Whatever the problem, I’m sure having us around will make things easier, don’t you think?"

Lucius frowned but then nodded. He knew that Axel or someone from his company would have to visit his store at some point. Now was as good a time as any.

"Then, please. Let’s go."

Axel pressed a button on his desk and muttered, "Prepare the limousine. We are leaving."

Then, they entered the elevator together and headed downstairs. Two of Axel’s guards were with them, even if they were useless in front of Lucius and Aphrodite.

They did look intimidating, though. They were certainly bulky and muscular. Though, that was about it.

As they reached the ground floor, they got inside the limousine and headed toward Lucius’s store, where things weren’t going... exactly well, to say the least.
