Chapter 27: Lyse Is Married

Chapter 27: Lyse Is Married

Brandon grunted loudly as his thrusting intensified then he stiffened, his body suddenly going slack and heavy on top of Brooke’s. A second later he got off her and went into the bathroom while she stared resentfully at his back.

It was ironic that since they had become engaged, the quality of their lovemaking if it could even be called that had faded. All Brandon did now was fuck her body selfishly and without any consideration for her feelings or helping her reach orgasm.

It was a far contrast from the passionate time when they were sneaking around behind Lyse’s back. Then Brandon would spend hours touching every single part of her body and kissing her tenderly, making her feel like the most precious thing in the world then gently cleaning her up after the encounter.

Now he just pounced on her like a starving, lustful caveman then abandoning her like she was some cum rag he had finished masturbating with.

When he came back out of the bathroom with a towel tied loosely around his waist, Brooke felt a stirring in her belly as she stared at his sculpted body then she quickly went into the bathroom to clean up and when she came back she noted with disappointment that Brandon was already putting on his clothes.

Feeling undeterred, she strutted to him and wrapped her arms around his waist, her breasts flattened against his back while her hands started to drift down to the front of his underwear but before she could reach her goal Brandon grabbed her hands.

"What’s wrong?" Brooke demanded.

"I’m tired." Brandon answered and pushed her arms away before stepping away from her and continuing to dress up.

Brooke glared at his back and struggled to contain her anger. She could not understand the reason for Brandon’s attitude towards her when he had told her that he loved her.

A thought crept into her head that he still wanted Lyse and she could not understand why. The only thing that Lyse had to offer were her looks, why would Brandon still want her nobody of an illegitimate sister over her?

She then remembered that she knew something very important and a smug smile played on her lips. She had actually come with the intention to deliver a message, a message that would, she hoped, finally put an end to any lingering feelings Brandon might still have for Lyse.

She had only become side tracked by Brandon taking off her clothes and taking her to bed. She stepped away from him and started to put on her clothes.

"Brandon," she said, her voice dripping with false sweetness, "I have some news that might interest you."

Brandon looked up from buttoning up his shirt, his expression neutral, almost disinterested. "What is it, Brooke?"

"Lyse is married," she announced, her voice laced with satisfaction.

Brandon’s eyebrows shot up in disbelief. "Married? How possible is that? To who?"

Brooke shrugged, feigning indifference. "Who cares? Just some random guy she met god knows where. I think she probably was cheating on you all that time you were dating, how else would she find a husband so quickly?"

She watched his face closely, expecting to see a look of disappointment or regret. But to her surprise, his expression remained unchanged.

"That is ... interesting," he said, his voice flat.

Brooke’s smile faltered. She had expected a different reaction from him. She had expected to see some rage at the betrayal, for him to be heartbroken, to realize that he had lost any slim chance he might have had with Lyse. But instead, he seemed almost indifferent.

"Well, I just thought you’d want to know," she said, trying to regain her composure. "I mean, you two almost got married and you would want to know wouldn’t you?"

Brandon stood up, his face hardening. "How do you even know this?"

Brooke smiled secretly while her face remained unchanged, now she was getting the reaction that she wanted. "I met her husband myself. A little too old but that sort of makes sense, I had always wondered how she was able to afford to finish school without any debt."

Lyse had been sent out of the house years ago and left to fend for herself, and despite the fact that she did not get any assistance from her parents she was still able to not only go to school but excel.

Brooke had always wondered how she was able to afford such an expensive school but since her parents had been too thankful that they did not need to shoulder the burden of Lyse’s financial woes, they had ignored her and so had she too.

But it all made sense. A wealthy older man as a patron would have taken care of her and since she was dumped by her fiancé he could swoop in and marry her.

"That is stupid, Lyse would never cheat on me. She is not that type of person."

Brooke gritted her teeth and wanted to point out that if he had cheated on Lyse while keeping up a facade of being a loyal and devoted boyfriend then so could Lyse but she knew saying that would cause a fight she decided against it.

"Well, she has a husband now, he said so and Lyse did not refute his statement."

There was a tense silence then Brandon spoke, "I appreciate you telling me, Brooke, but I’m not sure why you think this is any of your business."

Brooke smiled gleefully as Brandon turned away then she said innocently, "I just thought that you would want to know," she repeated, her voice growing softer.

"I think I’m good," Brandon said, his voice firm. "Why don’t you go?"

"But i just got here, surely—"

"Please just go Brooke."

Brooke felt a pang of hurt. She was not the one who had betrayed him so why was he turning on her?

And even though she had come here with the intention to hurt him, she was the one who ended up hurting herself. She turned to walk out of the room, her heart heavy with disappointment.

As she walked away, she could not shake the feeling that she had made a huge mistake by telling him that Lyse was married but she shrugged off the thought.

"Wait!" Brandon called out
