Chapter 81: [Bonus Chapter for ohecoupons] Activating the Planetary Shield

The number of insectoids infiltrating the Fritillaria Galaxy was still unclear. However, considering Officer Lyao had personally notified them of the serious situation, it was safe to say there were plenty.

Curious, Yuri hopped onto the interstellarnet to scour for news. Surprisingly, she found several videos.

In the videos, colossal battleships unleashed their fire power on the swarms of insectoids. The apocalyptic level of destruction opened Yuri’s eyes to the reality of the situation.

This was the true war between humans and insectoids.

All their recent experiences were just minor skirmishes in comparison.

Watching the videos stirred something inside Yuri, fueling her fighting spirit.

Unlike Yuri’s fascination, Tuss wore a furrowed brow, "The Second Commander has rushed to the frontlines."

The First, Second, and Third Commanders were top-tier commanders in the Alliance, the most powerful people in command. The fact that the Second Commander had personally gone to battle suggested an extraordinary crisis.

"Is the Second Commander an SSS-tier alpha?" Yuri asked.

"So is the First and the Third," Tuss replied. The ceaseless war against the insectoids made military prowess crucial within the Alliance. Positions of power were often earned through combat achievements and personal strength. Higher tier alphas had a distinct advantage in this respect.

Moreover, handling the Alliance’s numerous affairs demanded a robust physical constitution to endure high-intensity workloads.

Yuri initially thought that with the Second Commander’s involvement, the Fritillaria Galaxy would soon be safe. But Tuss corrected her, "It’s because the Second Commander has been deployed that the Fritillaria Galaxy is in great danger. I’m guessing it won’t be long before Planet 165 activates its planetary shield, halting all traffic in and out."

"That serious?" Yuri was taken aback.

Tuss nodded, "It could be even worse."

Their conversation cast a heavy mood over them as they continued walking, inadvertently arriving outside a mall.

Both looked up, their eyes drawn simultaneously to a billboard advertising mechas.

"Having a mecha could be safer in case of emergencies. Plus, mechas are more practical for crossing the star sea than levs," Yuri suddenly remarked.

Hearing this, Tuss understood her implied meaning, a warmth spreading in his chest.

"No matter how much we spend today, I promise I’ll earn it all back, and more," Tuss assured.

"It’s more like a loan to them. You don’t have to earn it," Yuri corrected him, considering the expensive price of mechs, "It’s quite a lot, I won’t be charging them interest."

"Alright," Tuss laughed.

Together, they walked towards the mecha shop.

Yuri and Tuss bought three mechs in total. Exiting the shop, their previously hundred and sixty million savings had been whittled down to just over ten million.

"Mechas really burn through money," Yuri lamented, almost gasping for breath.

"But mechs can also help us make money easily. We can sell the insectoid corpses we kill ourselves. The Alliance won’t charge tax," Tuss pointed out.

Yuri felt instantly better, "Next time, let’s take down some level five insectoids."

Tuss winced at her casual tone. If anyone else heard this, they’d probably choke.

Level five insectoids. Those were creatures capable of destroying small battleships. And Yuri wanted to ’take down a few’.

"Can you stick to level four insectoids?" Tuss asked, concerned. Even though she had killed a level five, it had come at a high cost and considerable hardship, and he hated seeing her suffer.

"But you were talking about going after level six," Yuri accused. "Why is it when it’s my turn, we can only go after level four?"

Tuss fell silent.

When Yuri and Tuss returned to their hotel, Tyrone and Hoolin had already beaten them back. They were huddled together, watching the video from today’s spaceport incident.

"Holy smokes, you have no idea how badass Yuri was," Vernon exaggerated, spitting as he spoke. "Even as a full-grown man, I didn’t dare to jump, but she just zoomed over. Now, tell me, if you guys were there, what would you have done?"

Hoolin and Tyrone shook their heads.

"I knew it. You guys wouldn’t have had a clue. At that moment, we were all desperate. Then, Yuri stepped forward. When she said, ’We might not be out of options,’ I swear, it was like an angel descended from the heavens. She was glowing."

Yuri, standing at the entrance, felt slightly embarrassed. She abandoned the idea of entering the room, turning to Tuss and suggesting, "Should we go to our room instead?"

Tuss refused, "You go on ahead, I want to go in and listen to them recount your heroic exploits."

He put a particular emphasis on ’heroic exploits’.

Yuri just stared at him.

At eight o’clock that evening, Yuri and Tuss both received a notification that Planet 165 had temporarily activated its shield, halting all starships and mechas from entering or leaving.

Anyone needing to enter or leave would have to apply to the government of Planet 165 for permission.

At the time of the notification, Yuri was taking a mecha production course online. She checked the time and said, "School starts in just over a half month. Can we make it back in time for enrollment?"

"If we can’t, it’s okay. We have a special reason, we can enroll remotely," Tuss reassured her.

After a dreamless night, Yuri woke up refreshed. She administered a dose of suppressants and applied a gland patch, hiding it under her clothes and hair. After checking herself in the mirror, she told Tuss, "We can go now."

They had breakfast at the hotel first, then set off for the hospital together.

Upon their arrival, Ender was already handling Daleks’ discharge procedures.

On seeing Yuri, Daleks broke into tears, flung his arms wide, and ran toward her, only to end up hugging Tuss.

Quickly realizing his mistake from Tuss’s dark expression, Daleks let go and tried to hug Yuri, only to be held back by Tuss, who grabbed the collar of his shirt.

"Stingy," Daleks pouted.

"Do you have any idea how possessive an alpha can be during a heat period? Don’t provoke him, or we’ll have to re-admit you to the hospital," Kilana warned.

So, Daleks settled down and sincerely looked at Yuri, "Yuri, I can never repay you for saving my life. From now on, I am your loyal follower. Whether it’s fetching coffee, holding a light, or even killing someone, just give me the command."

Yuri twitched, "No need."

"We need to. I can help you secure places, snatch classes, buy meals, anything," Daleks insisted.

"Bootlicker," Ender snorted.

"This is nothing, Yuri saved my life," Daleks said.

"This isn’t her first time saving your life either," Kilana reminded him.

Daleks choked up a bit, "The more the debt, the less it weighs on you, right? I’ll repay it slowly."

"You’ll indeed have to repay it slowly." Tuss pulled out three dimensional buttons as he said, "I’m not charging you interest, but you do have to pay it back. Each one is worth fifty million."

Ender’s face brightened, "Is this what I think it is?"

Kilana, equally excited, asked, "Mechas?"

Daleks let out a cry and lunged towards Tuss, "Dude, I love you so much!"

Tuss held up a hand to his chest, pushing him away. "I’m a married man, keep your hands to yourself."

"Oh, okay," Daleks obediently sat back down, constantly rubbing the dimensional button in his hands. "Why are you giving us these all of a sudden? Is it because I got injured?"

"No. Officer Lyao said the defensive line has been broken, and insectoids have invaded the Fritillaria Galaxy," Tuss explained.

"So you’re still worried about us getting injured, that’s why you bought us mecha," Daleks said, deeply moved.
