Chapter 50: Tuss Coming To Rescue

Chapter 50: Tuss Coming To Rescue

When officials from the Empire and the Alliance showed up, the entire venue instantly quieted down, causing Yuri to sit up straight.

Her seat was in the VIP section, not too far from the supreme seats, allowing her a clear view of the area. Thirteen officials had arrived from the Empire, two of whom gave Yuri an strange feeling. There were over twenty officials from the Alliance, one of whom Yuri recognized as Officer Lyao, whom she and Tuss had recently met.

At this point, the competitors from both sides had already stepped onto the competition platform, which was quite large, covering about four to five hundred square meters.

With her clear view, Yuri easily made out the features of the twelve competitors on the field. There were four men and two women from the Empire, and five men and one woman from the Alliance, all of them were SS-tier alphas.

"How likely do you think we, the Alliance, will win?" the old man next to Yuri suddenly asked.

Caught off guard, Yuri looked around before pointing at herself, asking, "Are you talking to me?"

The old man nodded, "I recognize you, Yuri, you’re Tuss’s wife."

Yuri responded with surprise, "Hello."

"Do you think we have a chance?" the old man asked again.

Yuri wanted to offer some polite response, but looking into the wise eyes of the old man, she found herself unable to lie. "The Empire came prepared," she said, in other words, the Alliance’s chances weren’t great.

The old man frowned, "Is that so?"

"Maybe a miracle will happen," Yuri suggested.

"What’s a miracle?" the old man asked.

"Tuss, if he’s here, we should be able to win," Yuri said with conviction.

The old man laughed, "You’re his wife, of course you’d side with him."

Yuri shook her head, explaining, "It’s because you don’t know how powerful he is now."

The old man laughed heartily, "Tuss is lucky to have you."

Apparently, he didn’t believe Yuri’s words.

While Yuri was chatting with the old man, the entire venue suddenly burst into an uproar.

"We don’t agree. The opportunity to use the starstone shouldn’t be used as a wager in a competition for college students."

"The Empire already has a starstone, giving them another chance would put them above us."

"Count the number of SS-tier beta in the Empire, then look at ours, they have more than twice our number, we absolutely can’t use the chance to use the starstone as a wager."

"I’m afraid we don’t have a choice."

"....."

Students were buzzing with discussions.

The faces of the Alliance officials were grim.

"You must be joking. It’s just a children’s competition. Friendship comes first, winning or losing isn’t that important. Placing a bet might not be appropriate," an official from the Alliance responded with a laugh.

"The Alliance won’t accept the wager, so they’ve decided they’ll lose, right?" an official from the Empire sneered.

"Of course not. It’s just that the chance to use the starstone has already been decided, we can’t bring it up as a wager now."

"If the Alliance thinks they won’t lose, what does it matter if there’s a wager or not?"

The Empire was putting the Alliance in a tight spot.

In the end, the Empire’s plot succeeded.

Yuri frowned and muttered, "This is going to be tough."

The old man beside her also frowned and said, "Let’s see."

Yuri nodded. "You’re right, there have been numerous battles where the few defeated the many and the weak overpowered the strong." Perhaps the Alliance’s competitors would rise to the occasion.

The competition rules were straightforward, competitors would pair off to fight, with the winner continuing against the next competitor, until only one remained.

After the individual matches ended, there were also mecha matches. Only two mecha matches were held, with each side sending two competitors. The mechas used were from the academy, and they could only use melee weapons, no firearms were allowed.

The competition started quickly, and the first to step onto the stage was Tyrone, an SS-tier alpha from Military Academy No. 2.

Yuri had reviewed Tyrone’s data and had seen videos of his fights with Tuss. He was a formidable alpha, ranked second only to Tuss among the four military academies, and currently, the strongest among them.

His participation in the first match was a good start and served to boost morale.

Tyrone had a robust appearance, broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and his tight-fitting battle suit perfectly accentuated his physique. As soon as he entered the arena, the cheers from the crowd never stopped. Many girls took the opportunity to loudly profess their affection, cries of "so handsome" and "I love you" echoing throughout the venue.

Yuri was amazed, These girls are so enthusiastic and expressive.

"They were even more enthusiastic when Tuz stepped onto the field," the old man suddenly said.

Yuri rolled her eyes at those worlds.

"But Tuz never paid them any mind, he was as cold as a block of ice," the old man added.

Yuri forced a smile and said, "How about we focus on the competition?"

The old man sighed, "You’re such a boring kid."

Yuri smiled and didn’t say anything, choosing to accept his comment.

At that moment, her opticomputer beeped.

It was a communication request from Tuss.

"I’m sorry, I had to go to an auction," Tuss started, though he had not only gone to an auction but also met with a designer.

Yuri panned the camera around the venue, finally landing on the competition platform and said, "Do you see, it’s already started."

"I see, Tyrone will win," Tuss said.

"I think so too," Yuri agreed. Tyrone was the strongest among the six competitors. If he couldn’t win, the Alliance might face a total defeat.

"I’m on my way there," Tuss informed.

"How much longer?" Yuri asked.

"About thirty minutes," Tuss estimated.

Yuri did the math, if each individual match could stretch to six or seven minutes, then Tuss would make it for the last personal match. But will other matches last that long?

Yuri summarized the first match’s process: two alphas entered the field and first released pheromones, attempting to suppress their opponent with them.

After the pheromone confrontation, the weaker competitor lost half of their fighting power, making the rest of the fight almost predictable and a loss was certain.

Though it was called a match, it was essentially a battle of who had stronger pheromones. Physical strength and stamina were secondary.

Such a fight would conclude in about three to four minutes, it wouldn’t last half an hour.

"I’ll come pick you up in the mecha," Yuri said.

"You can always check my real-time location through the opticomputer, we’re a couple, it has that feature," Tuss informed her.

Yuri was surprised. She hadn’t realized this was possible.

"I’m coming to get you now," Yuri announced, and then she got up from her seat and dashed out like a gust of wind, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

The old man murmured to himself, "That Tuss sure has an impressive wife."

As soon as Yuri stepped outside the venue, she called her mecha. She didn’t care if she had permission or not, she immediately piloted the mecha into the air and sped towards Tuss’s location.

Her speed was so fast that the academy’s security guards had no idea who would be bold enough to operate a mecha on campus. When they recognized the distinctive red and green colors of Yuri’s mecha, the guards who had initially planned to stop her decided to let it slide.

Perhaps she has an emergency, they reasoned.

Yuri moved quickly, taking only seven minutes to reach Tuss, and another six minutes to return to the outskirts of the venue.

As soon as the mecha landed, the waiting security guards surrounded them.

"You go inside first, I’ll explain the situation to the security," Yuri offered.

Tuss shook his head, "I’ll do the explaining."
