I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 201: A Palace Stripped Bare
Chapter 201: A Palace Stripped Bare
After Yuri finished raiding Nina and Herbert’s palaces, her three dimensional buttons were stuffed to the brim. Not only that, she found over a dozen more buttons in those palaces, each one filled to capacity.
The royal family of the Empire sure is filthy rich. With a sigh, Yuri pressed on with her devastating mission.
Among the youngest generation of the royals, Theodore was the Crown Prince. He was unmarried and had no children. His siblings were also unmarried and childless.
When Yuri dealt with them, she didn’t show the slightest bit of mercy.
The Emperor and Empress? Slain.
Theodore? Slain.
The handful of SSS-tier princes? Slain.
The remaining princes, princesses, and heirs who hadn’t awakened as either alpha or beta? Spared.
Those who had awakened? Driven insane or reduced to idiocy.
After the banquet, most of the royal family had decided to stay in the palace. Yuri took this opportunity to deal with them all at once. As for those she couldn’t finish off, they were temporarily spared.
If they chose to stir up trouble later on, she would deal with them then.
The entire palace was eerily silent. The dead were dead, the unconscious remained unconscious, and Yuri spared none, even the palace guards – mere pawns of the royal family.
Yuri stripped the palace bare before finally reaching the royal family’s warship dock.
The massive square, spanning tens of thousands of square feet, housed hundreds of warships of varying sizes.
Yuri’s dimensional buttons only had room for a handful more. She stowed away a dozen or so small warships. After confirming she truly had no spare buttons left, she headed towards the largest vessel.
At this moment, she felt incredibly fortunate to have learned how to operate a warship.
Perhaps the people of the Empire never imagined someone would dare to infiltrate the palace and steal a warship, or even reach this location. Therefore, the ships were left unlocked.
This greatly facilitated Yuri’s plans.
Yuri entered the largest warship, opened the storage area, and stored ten more small ships inside. After confirming no more could fit, she closed the door of the warship.
She divided her psychic power into five streams, controlling five consoles simultaneously, while she personally operated another one.
As the people of the Imperia Nexus fell into a deep sleep, a large warship slowly rose from the palace grounds.
"Huh, why is a warship patrolling at this hour?"
"Maybe it’s on some secret mission. See that huge emblem? That’s a royal warship. We should mind our own business."
"But the laws of the Empire state that any warship leaving the Imperia Nexus must report it."
"Tsk, rules are rules. Rules are rigid, people are flexible. Last month, two warships left without reporting, and what happened? Nothing. Besides, do you dare to intercept and question them?"
"No, I don’t."
"Well, there you have it. Turn a blind eye. We didn’t see anything tonight."
"Okay."
The two patrol mechas in the distance turned around and left for other locations.
In the conference room, Kinx and his closest aides sat in front of a long table, watching a projection of the starry sky above the palace.
"It’s not a mecha, it’s a warship." someone gasped.
"But didn’t you say she doesn’t have any help?"
"She said so herself," Kinx replied, his fists clenched, "No, I need to confirm if she has succeeded. Only when we’re certain can we take our next steps."
The person in the warship might not be Yuri. It could be someone from the royal family.
"If she hasn’t succeeded and we contact her now, we’ll expose ourselves," an aide reminded.
Kinx slammed his fist on the table, he and Yuri had not planned for this.
Just when Kinx was at his wit’s end, a communication request from Yuri came through.
The clear electronic sound echoed in the conference room, making everyone tense. Whether to accept or not was a decision that could affect the lives of tens of thousands of people.
Gritting his teeth, Kinx pushed the accept button under the watchful eyes of everyone.
"It’s over. You handle the rest." Yuri said only this before ending the communication, not even showing her face.
Hearing her words, Kinx punched the table in elation, breaking off a corner of the solid wood table.
The others in the room shared his restrained joy.
"Pass down the order, proceed according to plan. Also, notify everyone to stay away from the palace. Success is within our grasp. The next month will be crucial," Kinx’s ambition flared up.
"Understood."
"Move now, we must be quick."
Yuri had given him this opportunity, and he had to seize it.
Once the warship successfully entered space, Yuri sighed in relief.
Her quest for revenge was mostly fulfilled, the weight on her heart greatly reduced. Whatever was left would likely only be taken care of by time.
Yuri set the warship’s destination and programmed the six consoles for automated operation. Then, she sent a communication request to Tuss.
Tuss accepted her request almost instantly.
His holographic image appeared inside the warship. His sexy lips were tightly pursed, his dark eyes surveyed Yuri up and down.
"I’m not hurt," Yuri said, twirling around.
Tuss hummed in acknowledgment, his furrowed brows relaxing as he said, "Finished?"
"Yes, I’m done." Yuri walked over to hug Tuss’s hologram, "I’m on my way back now. It’ll take about a week."
Tuss hugged her back, "We’ll be waiting for you."
"What have you been up to these days?" Yuri made casual conversation.
"Rebuilding our base. Someone spread the news that you wiped out the insectoids beyond the 458 Defense Line. We’ve had many merchants visiting recently, buying land, wanting to build ice rinks, ski resorts, and such. They probably want to invest in the tourism industry here."
"It seems I’ll have to kill more insectoids when I get back." Yuri quirked a smile.
"I’ll help you. The 458 Defense Line is vast and sparsely populated, but rich in resources. If it can be properly developed, it should undergo a dramatic transformation," Tuss suggested. Yuri had initially acted out of frustration, but it had unintentionally brought a business opportunity to the 458 Defense Line.
Yuri didn’t know much about business, so she changed the topic, "First, build me a large training ground, one that can accommodate a large warship."
"This is a large warship?" Tuss seemed surprised, only now starting to take a closer look at the warship.
"If you’re going to steal, you might as well steal the biggest," Yuri said smugly, gesturing for Tuss to follow her. She led him to the warehouse, "See? There are ten smaller ones here. Apart from these ten, I have over a dozen more in my dimensional button, all small warships."
"So, you not only got your revenge, but also brought back a large warship and more than twenty small ones?" Tuss was overwhelmed with astonishment.
The biggest space thief in history turned out to be his own wife.
