I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 202: Who Is The Culprit?

Chapter 202: Who Is The Culprit?

After showing Tuss around the battleship, Yuri gave a yawn.

"We’ll check out the remaining spoils when they arrive. You should get some sleep; I’ll watch over the battleship. I’ll wake you if anything happens," Tuss suggested.

Yuri thought for a moment, then accepted, "I’ll take a short nap then."

She was pretty drained from using her psychic power and was struggling to keep awake.

With that, Yuri slumped into her chair and fell asleep.

It was morning on Planet 458. Tuss left his temporary office at the base and went to meet the construction team leaders.

"Do you need us to build a large dock for the battleship?" one of them asked Tuss.

"Yes, a very large one that can accommodate a large battleship," Tuss answered.

The team leader wanted to ask if it wasn’t a bit too soon to be thinking about battleships when they barely had any mechas at the base, let alone battleships.

Tuss read the leader’s doubts and said, "We’ll have it in a few days. Put all other projects on hold and focus on this starting today."

Just as the team leader was about to ask where this battleship was coming from, Tuss interrupted him, "No questions, start the work. You’ll find out in a couple of days, or maybe even hours."

This only made the leader more curious.

Meanwhile, something strange was happening at the palace. The sun was high in the sky, but the palace gates were still closed. It was eerily quiet inside.

Has everyone overslept after a late-night party? People outside hesitated, debating whether to knock on the doors.

They waited for half an hour, until someone finally awake inside the palace sounded the alarm.

As the shrill alarm echoed through Imperia Nexus, everyone was bewildered. What on earth has happened?

The palace gates were thrown open, and people rushed in. Not just soldiers, but civilians took the opportunity to glimpse the grandeur of the palace too.

Whether intentionally or not, no one stopped these civilians. As the news spread that the palace was freely accessible, even those who initially had no interest in the commotion hurried over.

"My god! The emperor and empress are dead."

"Many royal family members, including the crown prince, second prince, and sixth princess, have died. More than twenty royals in total."

"None of the SSS-tier alphas survived."

Everyone looked terrified. Overnight, all of the Empire’s SSS-tier alphas had been wiped out. Who has dared to attack the Empire?

A nation without its SSS-tier alphas is like a turtle without a shell.

The citizens felt like the sky was falling.

However, at that moment, someone stepped forward and said, "Kinx is a true SSS-tier alpha. The previous tests were wrong."

"He’s really an SSS-tier alpha?"

"The tests can be wrong?"

"Absolutely. He’s a bona fide SSS-tier alpha."

Regardless of the twists and turns, learning that they still had an SSS-tier alpha brought relief to the Empire’s citizens.

Then, as if they were on an adventure, they began to wander around the palace.

"Wait a minute, wasn’t the royal family supposed to be super rich? Why does the place look so empty?"

"Do you think someone might have taken all their stuff before we got here?"

"But there are cameras everywhere. Who would be brave enough to steal from the palace?"

"Maybe the culprit took it. After all, they’ve already killed people. What’s a ’little’ theft?"

A chill went through everyone when these words were spoken.

Setting aside who had committed the royal murders, what they were more concerned about was the fate of the royal family. With so many dead or insane, and only a few omega members left, would the royal family continue to exist?

The thought of the thousand-year-old royal dynasty falling left the citizens of the Empire feeling a bit lost, yet also expectant.

Will there no longer be a divide between royals and commoners? Will we no longer have to pay heavy taxes to support the extravagant lifestyles of the royal nobility? News of the massacre of the Empire’s royal family spread rapidly throughout the galaxy. The Alliance’s citizens found out only a few minutes after the citizens of the Empire.

After all, nothing could be kept secret in the age of the interstellar net.

Unlike the citizens of the Empire, the citizens of the Alliance had a quick suspect for the massacre.

"So it’s true, karma exists. It’s not that it doesn’t come, it’s just that the time isn’t right. Look, their time has come, and they got what they deserved."

"We should celebrate this with fireworks."

"Our soldiers’ souls can finally rest in peace."

"I heard that not only did they kill them, they also took everything. Nothing was left."

"What do you mean nothing? Weren’t there hundreds of battleships left?"

"That woman, I mean you-know-who, must have been reluctant to leave anything behind. We’ll know who she is, and she would have loved to sprout multiple arms and take all those battleships with her too."

"Reading your comment, I can picture that scene."

The citizens of the Alliance found the situation satisfying and felt a sense of vindication.

On Planet 4581, Tuss received a call from Officer Lyao.

"Where is she?" Officer Lyao asked, rubbing his forehead, a hint of exhaustion in his eyes.

"On her way back," Tuss replied indifferently.

"Does she need any assistance?"

"No, she can handle it herself."

"Huh, you really don’t worry at all."

"You’re no different."

"Who was it that promised me there would be no killings? What happened to that?" Officer Lyao asked, a trace of anger in his voice.

"That wasn’t me who made that promise. Go ask whoever did," Tuss responded, unfazed.

Fuming, Officer Lyao retorted, "I will. When she gets back, have her contact me."

"I’ll pass on the message. If there’s nothing else, I have work to do. She’s brought back quite a bit, and I have to build some large warehouses for her." Tuss boasted nonchalantly.

Officer Lyao: "..."

He really felt like smacking Tuss on the head.

Two days later, news came out from the Empire that Yuri was the one who had wiped out the royal family. They demanded the Alliance to hand over Yuri and return the things that were taken from them.

At first, the Alliance did not respond to the Empire’s demands. However, as the issue grew more serious and countless netizens from the Empire flooded the Alliance’s official website with messages, the Alliance had no choice but to reply: "Where is the evidence?"

Solving a case required evidence. Without evidence, it was just baseless accusations and slander.

Once the word "evidence" was mentioned, the citizens of the Empire retorted sharply: "We’ll find the evidence then. Once we confirm that Yuri is the culprit, you, the Alliance, must hand her over to us for punishment and return all our possessions."

The Alliance replied: "Find the evidence first."

Thus, the citizens of the Empire started their actions. United, they searched for the evidence together.

They searched high and low, went through the entire palace, and reviewed countless surveillance videos, but they found no trace of Yuri or any sign of the culprit.

This was baffling.

The palace was heavily guarded, with surveillance everywhere, and there were no less than twenty thousand people present at the time, including countless high-level alphas. People wondered, How could Yuri have gotten in? And how could she have managed to kill several SSS-tier alphas without making a sound?
