Chapter 198: What Are You Going to Do?

"Heh."

With a soft chuckle, Yuri’s sharp mental prowess punctures directly into the Sea of Consciousness of a man named Poeto.

At the moment of turmoil in Poeto’s Sea of Consciousness, Princess Nina, not far away, abruptly stood up, her gaze sharply turning towards Yuri.

"Easy there, buddy," Nina said politely, but her psychic power was already aimed at Yuri.

Yuri retracted her psychic power, using it to shield herself.

Poeto was saved. The very next second, he sprinted towards Nina.

"Princess Nina, Miss Bawu here is my friend. It was Poeto who started this whole thing, Bawu only acted in response," Kinx stood up and said loudly.

Nina glanced at Kinx, then at Bawu, retracting her psychic power.

"For an SS-tier like you to last so long against me, not bad," even when giving compliments, Nina’s tone was lofty.

Yuri gave her a nonchalant glance, not answering. In her mind, however, she thought that this Nina was far inferior to her sister, Jira.

At that moment, a ding was heard, and the host emerged to warm up the crowd. He apologized with a smile to Nina, Poeto, Yuri and everyone else present. Then, he announced the start of the official auction.

"You’ve got some nerve. That Poeto guy has some real influence," Kinx whispered into Yuri’s ear.

Yuri blinked and said, "What’s that got to do with me?"

Kinx paused before saying, "Aren’t you afraid he’ll get back at you?"

"How so? Maybe he’s the one who should be worried?" Yuri smirked evilly, her gaze falling on Poeto, who was seated on a small stool.

Her goal was to take down the entire royal family. As for small fries like this, she could leave them to others. For example, to the person right beside her.

A chill ran down Kinx’s spine. For a moment, he felt like he had been targeted by a venomous snake.

He looked around and saw that everyone was focused on the auction items, paying no attention to them. Am I just imagining things?

The auction went smoothly, and the jewels Yuri presented fetched a high price.

When the star of the show, the Moonstone, was presented, the entire hall erupted.

"Starstone?"

"Are you sure it’s not a starstone?"

"Even if it’s not a starstone, it’s a rare treasure. It glows like moonlight, no wonder it’s called Moonstone."

Before the auctioneer could even speak, someone already bid a billion.

Yuri raised an eyebrow. It seems the Empire had many rich folks.

"Aren’t you going to keep such a treasure as a family heirloom?" Kinx teased Yuri.

Yuri nonchalantly said, "A couple of heirlooms are enough."

"Fickle woman," Kinx muttered, noting the bid on the Moonstone had nearly reached two billion, he joined in, "Two hundred million."

"..."

The Moonstone was finally bagged by Princess Nina for one billion.

At the end of the auction, after taxes, Yuri’s total earnings were 2.1 billion.

Kinx, seeing this figure, couldn’t help but say enviously, "Is making money always this easy for you?"

Yuri considered for a moment and said, "Jewels become less valuable when there are too many. So, it feels good to do something like this, but only for once or twice. Instead, I think robbing would be faster. Like the palace, there must be a lot of valuable things there."

"Are you joking?" Kinx laughed as if he had heard the funniest thing in the world, "The palace has six SSS-tier alphas and one SSS-tier beta. The security is tight. Even a mosquito would find it difficult to fly in."

Yuri turned to him and asked, "Are you familiar with the palace? Draw a map for me."

Kinx’s face darkened, "Bawu, this isn’t a funny joke."

Yuri gave him a smirk, then strode forward, "I need to buy something. Got to go now."

Kinx stood still, watching Yuri walk further away until her figure disappeared at the corner of the street. A hint of unease surfaced in his heart, and he said into his earpiece, "Find out what she bought."

After a moment of hesitation, Kinx sent a message, "Look into what Yuri Hiro from the Alliance is up to."

"Checking up on her?"

"I might be paranoid, but I sense a storm brewing over Imperia Nexus."

"Alright, I’ll check. But for the record, no matter how capable that Yuri is, she can’t stir up trouble in the Empire, let alone Imperia Nexus. The most formidable alphas and strongest weapons of the Empire are here."

"I know," Kinx pinched his nose bridge, "Let’s say I’m just being paranoid."

Returning home, Kinx barely laid down after a bath when his subordinate came to report.

"Miss Bawu was in the dimensional button store at the corner. She bought fifty-one dimensional buttons, spending 5.1 billion astracredits," the subordinate reported. The sight of her purchasing fifty-one top-tier dimensional buttons had given him quite the shock.

The space in a top-tier dimensional button was nearly two hundred cubic, barely enough to fit a small starship.

Kinx’s face changed at this number. He sat up from bed, abandoning his plans for sleep, "Call everyone. We’re having a meeting in half an hour."

That night, Kinx made many significant decisions, such as sending his family away from Imperia Nexus under the guise of tourism, and instructing his secretly cultivated agents to infiltrate the capital, and buying weapons in large quantities...

Kinx felt as if he were going mad, but his intuition told him something big was about to happen.

The next morning, Kinx showed up at the hotel where Yuri was staying.

"You bought fifty-one dimensional buttons?" Kinx’s face was serious as he had never been before.

Yuri hummed in agreement, "You already know, don’t you?"

Yuri knew Kinx had sent someone to follow her.

"What are you doing with so many dimensional buttons?" Kinx lowered his voice.

"Didn’t I tell you yesterday?" Yuri was nonchalant.

"You’re serious?" Kinx was so anxious his eyes turned red.

Yuri adopted a serious tone, "Absolutely."

"You’ll get me involved. Now all the nobles of Imperia Nexus know you’re my friend," Kinx growled lowly.

Yuri snorted lightly, "You can’t expect benefits without taking risks. Draw the palace map for me, or else, don’t say anything."

Yuri ushered Kinx out of the room and slammed the door shut.

Kinx stood in front of the closed door, his face dark and inscrutable.

At this moment, a message came through on his opticomputer, "Yuri is currently on Alliance Planet 4581. Her custom-made psychic sensors are being auctioned off on the Alliance Interstellarnet. She sells ten a day, earning tens of millions daily."

Seeing this message, Kinx’s suspicions deepened even more.

"Has Yuri shown her face in the last ten days?"

"No, she’s reportedly been making psychic sensors at home. According to the mecha manufacturing masters of the Alliance, Yuri’s psychic sensors are top-notch. Shall we buy one or two?"

"No."

"I’m 70% certain that Imperia Nexus, maybe even the entire Empire, is headed for chaos. You guys should pull out now. I urgently need manpower here."

"Alright, I trust you. We’re coming back now."
