I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 193: No One Left

Chapter 193: No One Left

Officer Lyao’s words hit like a hammer, and Yuri could only feel a buzzing in her head, a blinding dizziness, and the next second, she was about to fall to the ground.

Officer Lyao quickly caught her.

"Tuss, come take care of your wife!" Officer Lyao bellowed, snapping Tuss back to reality.

Tuss rushed over to lift Yuri, then heard Officer Lyao order, "Back to the warship."

The group returned to the warship, and Officer Lyao led them to the command room.

At this point, Yuri seemed to have come around, yet also seemed not to. Her eyes were vacant, as if she had lost her spirit.

"Play the battle footage for them," Officer Lyao gruffly ordered.

His assistant, Sergeant Chance, didn’t move, his face showing concern, "Isn’t this a bit too cruel?"

"The Alliance loses hundreds of thousands, if not over a million soldiers each year. Do you think that’s cruel? From the moment they enlist, aren’t all soldiers prepared to die at any moment?" Officer Lyao was cold.

It’s not the same, Sergeant Chance complained in his heart.

Those soldiers didn’t die because of Yuri, but this time, nearly ten thousand people died because of her. She was the main cause.

She must be devastated.

Sergeant Chance didn’t dare to argue with Officer Lyao and played the battle footage of the 4581 garrison fighting against the Space-sparkle pirates for Yuri and Tuss as ordered.

As the battle footage played, a light began to form in Yuri’s eyes.

Sergeant Chance quietly exited the command room.

The battle footage lasted over two hours. Fearing Yuri and Tuss couldn’t handle it, Sergeant Chance called for a medic to wait in the adjacent room, ready to attend to them if anything happened.

"What if they lose control? You think I can handle that?" the medic asked somberly.

Sergeant Chance’s face tightened, "Maybe they’ll just vomit blood or something."

Finishing, he himself wasn’t certain, "Should I call some betas over?"

The medic waved him off, "If Yuri loses control, no amount of betas will help. Your job is to evacuate everyone from the warship, get them as far away as possible."

Hearing this, Sergeant Chance instantly tensed up, "I’ll get on it right away."

But before he could exit the room, a powerful oppressive force suddenly enveloped the entire warship. Biting his teeth, leaning against the wall, Sergeant Chance struggled back to his chair.

"It’s too late—" Sergeant Chance managed to say.

The medic’s teeth chattered, his body shivering.

An urgent alarm rang through the warship. Under normal circumstances, everyone would have run to grab their weapons by now. But this time, they were lucky if they could stay standing, let alone run.

"Darn, is this what it feels like to be under a top beta’s pressure?" A soldier barely got out his words while lying on the floor.

"It’s psychic power," one of the betas responded, seated on the floor, faring slightly better than the alphas.

"Where’s the psychic power coming from?"

"Are the insectoids here again?"

The soldiers questioned, as if facing a great enemy.

After careful sensing, the beta shook her head, "It’s not the insectoids."

"Is it Officer Yuri?" a soldier asked, eyes wide.

The beta nodded, "Aside from her, no one else could have such a strong psychic power."

Everyone fell silent. If Yuri lost control, we’ll all be doomed.

"Don’t worry, she hasn’t lost control." Seeming to guess what they were thinking, a beta comforted, "You alphas can’t sense it, but I can. This psychic power is strong, but it’s steady. This should be just a portion of her psychic power that’s leaked out."

"Just a portion is that strong," someone exclaimed.

"She’s now officially the strongest beta in the universe, what do you think?" the beta chuckled helplessly, "If it was all of it, we would have gone insane."

The oppressive psychic power lasted for about five minutes, then receded like a tide, disappearing completely.

In the command room, Officer Lyao and Tuss were drenched in sweat, staring at Yuri with pale faces.

"What’s happened to her?" Officer Lyao asked.

"She’s become stronger," Tuss sighed.

Officer Lyao was baffled. How does she suddenly become stronger?

Tuss couldn’t exactly explain it either, but he guessed it was due to extreme grief and anger fuelling her growth. He felt a dull pain at the thought, How much grief and anger must she be experiencing to have provoked such a change?

When Yuri opened her eyes, she met Tuss’s sympathetic, sorrowful gaze. She blinked, and a tear rolled down her cheek.

Tuss pulled her into a hug, "Yuri, if you’re upset, it’s okay to cry."

"I want to go to the Empire," Yuri’s tone was resolute, leaving no room for rejection.

"I’ll go with you," Tuss blurted out.

"No, you stay and take care of our child. We owe him that," Yuri said.

Tuss pursed his lips, "I can take care of him after we come back from the Empire."

Yuri shook her head, disagreeing, "I’ll go to the Empire, and when I come back, you take care of the Space-sparkle pirates. Don’t let a single one escape."

"Who are you planning to kill in the Empire?" Officer Lyao interjected, his eyes sharp.

Yuri detached herself from Tuss and turned to Officer Lyao with a cold smirk, "Who do you think I’m going to kill?"

Officer Lyao furrowed his brow, "This is a big matter, it could easily spark a war between the two great forces."

"I won’t kill anyone then," Yuri’s tone was as cold as ice, not killing, but she would make them wish they were dead, to live a life worse than death, a life that wouldn’t be much different from being dead.

Officer Lyao’s brows remained furrowed, looking at Yuri, he sighed in resignation, "Don’t rush off to the Empire alone, let me arrange it for you."

"No," Yuri shook her head, "The more arrangements, the more likely it is to go wrong. I’ll do it myself."

Officer Lyao looked to Tuss, signalling with his eyes, Aren’t you going to do something?

Tuss pretended not to see, with Yuri’s current strength, no one would be able to stop her. Her grief and rage needed an outlet, as bottling it up for too long could make her ill.

"Get her a new mecha, hers is broken," Tuss said, after some thought, she felt one might not be enough, "Two, in case one breaks, she’ll have a spare."

Officer Lyao twitched his lips, "What do you think I am? Your treasury?"

Tuss side-eyed him, "Yuri’s mecha was damaged on the battlefield. Are you sure you won’t compensate?"

Officer Lyao choked, begrudgingly muttering, "Fine, I’ll compensate."

Leaving the battleship, Yuri and Tuss first went to the hospital to see their unborn child.

Yuri stared at the artificial womb with a thoughtful expression. Almost ten thousand people died because they were trying to protect an unborn child. If they hadn’t been so obsessed with protecting the baby, those people would not have met such a tragic end. If I had taken the baby with me at the time...

"Yuri, the child is innocent. All of this is the fault of the Empire’s royal family and the Space-sparkle pirates," Tuss said, interrupting Yuri’s thoughts.
