Chapter 184: Heated Debate at the Meeting

As the new school year approached, Ender, Daleks, and the rest departed from Defense Line 458, taking Ron and Sonia back to Planet Alpha.

Tuss was now capable of leading troops independently, delegating patrol duties to his subordinates. His daily tasks were focused on training his soldiers and finding metal ores to feed Yuri.

Yuri’s belly was slightly rounded, her symptoms of morning sickness had disappeared. But Tuss was still worried, and insisted on bringing her two warehouse’s worth of metal ores every day.

With the savings in his account constantly increasing, Tuss purchased a batch of mechas from the military. He was a step closer to providing each soldier under his and Yuri’s command with a mecha.

Upon learning that Tuss was hunting insectoids outside the defense line daily and mining, the soldiers requested to join him.

Seeing his enthusiastic soldiers, Tuss smirked and said, "If you can withstand five moves from me, I’ll take you with me."

Thus, every day at the training ground, you could see new recruits challenging Tuss, only to end up bruised and swollen, being defeated thoroughly.

After months of learning, Yuri finally succeeded in creating her first psychic sensor. Next, she planned to start producing mechas.

Life on Planet 4581 was busy and fulfilling, meanwhile, Planet Alpha was enveloped in a tense atmosphere.

It all started a month ago when several level-six insectoids suddenly appeared on the ore planet energy stone given by the Empire to the Alliance.

The energy stones were precious, and the soldiers guarding the planet were many. There were even two warships, one large and one small, and thousands of mechas.

The level-six insectoids were easily crushed by the Alliance’s firepower. However, that was just the beginning; next came level-seven insectoids.

More than ten level-seven insectoids arrived, and this time, the battle was evenly matched, with the Alliance barely winning.

For this reason, the Alliance dispatched more soldiers, and the number of miners and machines was also increased.

They thought that level-seven would be the last wave. To their surprise, a level-eight, four level-sevens, and hundreds of thousands of level-five and six insectoids arrived. They surrounded the ore planet, trapping the miners, the Alliance’s warships, and mechas inside.

When the news reached Planet Alpha, the Alliance’s higher-ups were shocked. The energy stone ore planet is far from the insectoid domain. Why are there so many insectoids appearing there, and in succession? Could it be another trick by the Empire?

Just when everyone was suspecting the Empire, an elderly professor spoke up, "According to historical records from a thousand years ago, a level-nine insectoid queen, when laying eggs, cannot get enough energy from regular food. It needs to consume energy stones. Before laying eggs, it sends out countless insectoids to find energy stone mines."

"The more energy stones it consumes, the higher the level of the insectoids it lays. The children of a Level-nine insectoid queen are at least level-six, mostly level-seven. And insectoids can evolve. If level-seven insectoids keep eating, they can quickly grow into level-eight or even level-nine."

Gasps echoed through the room as everyone took a sharp breath. So those waves of insectoids are merely scouts? Searching for energy stone mines?

"How reliable are those historical records you mentioned?" A level-one commander asked sternly.

"The credibility is not less than sixty percent," the old professor replied.

"It’s been almost a hundred years since a level-nine insectoid was last seen in the galaxy. Your theory is hard to accept."

"We hadn’t seen any SSS-tier beta in a thousand years, yet nearly ten appeared this year."

"If it’s true, the insectoid queen can lay millions, even tens of millions of eggs at once. Then we will have millions, tens of millions of level-six and seven insectoids. These insectoids will evolve into level-eight—"

The people in the room turned pale at the thought of this outcome.

That evening, Second Commander Perseman and Third Commander Boan led their legions to the energy stone ore planet.

Their mission was not only to drive away the insectoids surrounding the ore planet but also to remove the energy stones before a level-nine insectoid arrived, depriving it of the energy needed to lay eggs.

The appearance of a level-nine insectoid might not be certain, but the Alliance didn’t dare take the risk. No one in the galaxy dared to gamble on this.

The rumor of a level-nine insectoid queen spread rapidly on Planet Alpha, and with the deployment of the two level-one commanders, the credibility of the news increased.

The Alliance hadn’t seen two level-one commanders march together in nearly a decade. Has the situation become this serious? Everyone wondered.

In Military Academy No. 1...

"Do you think we should tell Yuri and Tuz about this?" Daleks asked.

"Yuri is pregnant, we shouldn’t bother her with such things." Ender replied sternly.

Kilana agreed, "The two level-one commanders are personally on the battlefield. This issue should be resolved quickly. After everything is over, you can tell Yuri about it. You can use it as a bedtime story, also for prenatal education."

"They said that stories of fights and battles are not suitable for prenatal education." Daleks argued.

Kilana responded in admiration, "You sure do know a lot."

However, things did not resolve as quickly as everyone expected. Not only did the issue not resolve, but the two commanders also fell into a dangerous situation.

Because the level-nine insectoid queen appeared.

"It’s my turn now," the First Commander sighed deeply.

"You can’t go. The Alliance cannot afford to lose three level-one commanders at once," Officer Lyao said with a stern face.

"Against a level-nine insectoid, other than us SSS-tier alphas, no one else stands a chance." The First Commander shook his head. Even they, the SSS-tier alphas, were not its match.

"Then we bombard it with firepower. If it comes to the worst, the Alliance will use its strongest firepower," Officer Lyao said, his tone resolute.

The people around him turned pale.

"I don’t know if the strongest firepower will kill the level-nine insectoid, but none of our Alliance soldiers will survive."

"If we can’t kill the level-nine insectoid, do you think those people can survive?"

"That’s hundreds of thousands, even millions of people, soldiers carefully trained by the Alliance. If they are gone, the Alliance is not far from extinction."

"If we don’t use the strongest firepower, do you have a better idea? Go ahead and suggest it."

"Let Yuri go, she killed a level-eight insectoid queen last time, let her try."

"Right, let Yuri go. Even if she can’t kill the level-nine insectoid, as long as she can seriously injure it, we can bombard it with firepower afterwards. There’s a chance we can kill it."

"That’s out of the question. Yuri is pregnant." Officer Lyao sternly rejected the suggestion. "That’s a level-nine, not level-eight. She wouldn’t stand a chance."

"How would you know if she hasn’t tried? Moreover, our focus is to have her injure it, not kill it. I believe she should be able to do that."

"You’re actually pushing a pregnant woman to the battlefield. What are you?" Officer Lyao erupted in anger.

"Lyao. She’s a woman, true, but she’s stronger than any man present here. If there were any other choice, we wouldn’t ask her to do this. But do we have another choice now?"

"Lyao, Yuri is one person. But there are millions trapped on the energy stone ore planet. Is one person more important than a million?"
