I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 181: Classmates Reunion

Chapter 181: Classmates Reunion

After yesterday’s battle with the pirate, Yuri had collected a total of 467 mechas, adding to the three she had before, she now had 470.

"I have a thousand soldiers, which means we still need 530 more mechas," Yuri counted on her fingers.

"Not all soldiers pilot mechas, ships also need crews," Tuss reminded her.

"We don’t have the ranks to own our own ships, so for now, we need the mechas," Yuri explained.

"We’re on the border, special circumstances call for special measures. Officer Lyao said he’ll pitch in some money, just enough to have a medium and a small ship delivered to us. The medium one’s for you since you have more people, the small one’s for me," Tuss casually stated.

In reality, even on the border, their military rank wouldn’t allow them to own a ship. But things became different as Yuri got involved in.

For her safety, the high-ranking military officials of the Alliance were willing to turn a blind eye.

Yuri’s eyes widened, saying, "Really? Officer Lyao is such a nice guy. I’ll send him a message to thank him."

Tuss agreed, "You should really thank him."

Far away on Planet Alpha, Officer Lyao sneezed and felt a sudden chill.

Though Yuri had collected hundreds of mechas, most of them were broken and needed repair.

The old technician said to Yuri, "You fix yours, we’ll handle the rest, is that alright?"

Yuri patted her stomach, indicating to the him, Do you think this is appropriate to give a pregnant woman so much work?

The corner of the old man’s mouth twitched. Feeling a bit guilty, he explained, "I was just thinking you could use the practice."

Yuri looked at him dismissively, confidently saying, "Do you think with my talents, I need hundreds of mechas to practice?"

The old mechanic was left speechless. If anyone else had said that, he could’ve retorted, but he didn’t know how to refute Yuri.

Her talent was extraordinary, able to find the tiniest issue in the mechas, leaving no stone unturned. The mechas repaired by her were impeccable, their joints, smoothness, response speed, flexibility, and toughness... even better than new.

In just a few months, she had surpassed her teacher. Luckily, he wasn’t in the business, and she wasn’t a full-time mecha repairer, or else they might end up in a feud in business competition.

Yuri spent her days repairing mechas and waiting for her soldiers to report in, a wait that lasted two weeks.

However, before their soldiers arrived, their classmates and friends came first.

"You guys are really doing things without asking, huh?" Yuri asked, looking at the crowd speechless.

"We did mention it, in Tuz’s live stream," Ender replied.

Yuri twitched her mouth, knowing Tuss and his nature, he probably didn’t notice.

"Tuss isn’t here, he’s on patrol," Yuri said, not really wanting to deal with them.

"No problem, we can stay with you, Yuri. Your place is big, we can squeeze in," Daleks grinned.

With that, Daleks and the others started choosing their rooms.

Feeling helpless, Yuri said, "Just stay next door."

Getting up, she first led them to Xiva to register their information, then asked Xiva for the access to the house next door.

After opening the door for them, Yuri stepped back and said, "Clean up yourselves, if you need anything, buy it from the nearby mall."

"We’ve got everything from Planet Alpha. We even brought you snacks."

"All sorts of flavored Nutrient Fluids."

"Fresh fruits of all sorts."

"And we bought toys for the baby."

Upon hearing the last item, Yuri frowned, "I’m still over five months from my due date, and you’re already bringing toys?"

"Toys won’t spoil just sitting there. I thought we were the only ones who bought it, turns out you all did."

"Guess we all thought alike."

"..."

Unable to listen any longer, Yuri turned and went home.

"Yuri, after we’ve settled in, we’ll bring the things over to your place."

Once Yuri got home, she sent a message to Tuss, informing him of Daleks and Ender’s arrival.

After sending the message, she continued her lessons with Master Kim.

"A lot of people on Planet Alpha have been asking you to return," Master Kim suddenly said.

"Why would they want me to go back?" Yuri asked, puzzled.

"A few days ago, an SS -tier alpha somehow had an outburst in the Sea of Consciousness, causing chaos on the street. Three SSS-tier betas rushed over, but only about a dozen people were saved, more than twenty high-ranking alphas lost their lives, and hundreds of omegas were injured," Master Kim explained.

Yuri furrowed her brows, "Have they found the cause yet?"

Master Kim shook his head, saying, "No, that alpha’s Sea of Consciousness was very stable before, it shouldn’t have lost control. In fact, similar incidents have been happening on Planet Alpha recently."

Yuri’s frown deepened, "And they haven’t found the causes for all of them?"

Master Kim sighed, "No, they haven’t. Because they couldn’t find the cause, these incidents keep happening every couple of days, so many people proposed you return. But Officer Lyao rejected all those proposals, saying that your pregnancy made long trips unsuitable. They even offered to lift the punishment on Tuss if you return to Planet Alpha, but Officer Lyao still didn’t agree."

Yuri was deep in thought.

After ending her lesson with Master Kim, Yuri sent a communication request to Officer Lyao.

"I suspect that the Empire’s Princess Nina is on Planet Alpha," Yuri voiced her suspicion.

Officer Lyao replied with a hum, "I’ll investigate. You just take care of yourself. If anyone spreads rumors, don’t bother with them, let alone take them to heart."

"It’s not idle chatter," Yuri said, guessing that no one had told her about any of those incidents because Officer Lyao had issued some gag order. And Master Kim bringing it up was likely because someone else asked her to.

"The warship will arrive at Planet 4581 tomorrow, you should make some time to learn how to pilot it," Officer Lyao advised.

"So soon?" Yuri’s eyes lit up, but then she frowned, "Can I just stick to piloting mechas? I have so much to learn lately, I can’t keep up."

"Huh," Officer Lyao chuckled coldly, "Every commander of an army must know how to pilot a warship, that’s a prerequisite."

Yuri: "....I’ll learn, starting tomorrow."

"The drivers who will deliver the warship are among the best in the Alliance, they’ll stay behind to teach you. If you don’t learn how to pilot the ship within half a month, I’m taking it back," Officer Lyao said ruthlessly.

Yuri felt the pressure instantly, and quickly put the matters of Planet Alpha out of her mind.

Officer Lyao chuckled coldly, Now let’s see if you have the mental space for anything else.
