I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 171: Revenge Must Be Swift

Chapter 171: Revenge Must Be Swift

The rich scent of lilies made Sonia’s body slightly hot until a shot of suppressants was injected, and the heat inside her body calmed down.

Sonia stared blankly at Yuri, finally feeling at ease enough to ask, "You’re also a beta?"

Yuri nodded coolly, looked around the room, and remarked, "No heating system?"

A touch of embarrassment passed over Sonia’s face as she replied in a whisper, "No, I have an thick blanket on my bed."

A corner of Yuri’s mouth twitched as she questioned, "What about other times of the day? You stay in bed all the time?"

"I put on more clothes," Sonia replied, burying her face in her chest.

Yuri glanced at Sonia’s faded clothes, which looked stiff from the cold, and waved her hand, "Go lie down on the bed. I’ll lock the door for you when I leave."

Sonia hesitated. Although she wanted to lie down, it seemed rude to leave a guest alone.

Yuri glanced at her and said, "Why don’t you go? Are you afraid I’ll steal something?"

Sonia shook her head vigorously, then scampered back into her room under Yuri’s gaze.

The room without a heating system was icy cold. Even in Yuri’s thermoregulated military uniform, her exposed hands and head were freezing, a biting cold.

Yuri remembered that her dimensional button still had a set of basic heating equipment. It was something Tuss had bought while they were shopping together.

The heating system required energy stones for operation. Yuri had plenty of them. She put ten stones in and cranked the power to maximum.

In less than three minutes, the whole house was warming up.

Seeing the temperature was still rising, Yuri finally turned the power down a bit.

She heated a pot of water for Sonia and carried the pot to Sonia’s room, knocking on the door, "May I come in?"

Sonia was replying to her brother’s message. She knew Yuri was the one who saved her brother’s life and learned Yuri was a commander. Her attitude towards Yuri became friendly and respectful, "Yes, please come in."

Yuri pushed the door open and quietly looked around the girl’s room. It was simple, even bare, with pitifully few pieces of furniture. Its only merit was its cleanliness and neatness.

"You’ll get severely dehydrated during differentiation, drink more water," Yuri placed the pot by Sonia’s bed.

"Thank you," Sonia was taken aback.

"How old are you this year?" Yuri asked, assuming she was just thirteen or fourteen because she was so small.

"I’m seventeen," Sonia replied, "I’m about to graduate from high school, and I plan to go to college."

Yuri concealed her surprise, asking her, "Which college have you applied to?"

"Military Academy No. 1." Sonia’s eyes lit up when she mentioned Military Academy No. 1, but quickly dimmed, "But I might not meet the physical requirements."

"Don’t worry, you’re a beta. Whether it’s scores or physical condition, the requirements will be lower," Yuri comforted her, reminding her, "When your differentiation ends, remember to check your beta level and register your information."

"Yes, I will," Sonia obediently replied.

Yuri took out several gland patches from her dimensional button and placed them by Sonia’s bed, instructing, "Remember to wear these when you go out."

After giving her instructions, Yuri left the room. When she got to the living room, Yuri sent a message to Ron: "Your sister is currently undergoing differentiation and is turning into a beta. It would be best if someone could look after her. You can seek assistance from your local government. They will send professionals to care for your sister and also test her level. This service is free of charge."

"Registered betas, although slightly restricted in freedom before the age of 25, have significantly increased safety. I recommend you not to hide it."

With Ron’s lower leg missing a portion and his fighting ability reduced, and considering they live in a remote suburb, if something were to happen, it could prove to be disastrous.

Upon receiving the message, Ron didn’t hesitate and replied: "I will seek help from the local government immediately. Can you wait until the government’s people arrive before you leave?"

Yuri replied with a simple "Okay," then logged onto the Military Academy No. 1’s student portal to continue her studies for her fourth-year courses.

In less than an hour, the government officials arrived. With her task completed, Yuri returned home in her mecha.

The two-story building was still in complete darkness. Yuri’s heart sank, her mood worsened.

She looked at her opticomputer; there were no messages from Tuss.

Where has he gone? With a frown, Yuri activated her opticomputer to track Tuss’s location, and she saw a distant red dot. He isn’t on Planet 4581?

Yuri wanted to message Tuss and ask what he was up to, but a certain stubbornness in her heart stopped her. This feeling remained stuck in her chest until she fell asleep.

Meanwhile, on Planet 4583, Tuss was hidden in a blanket of snow, motionless like a statue, having been waiting for three hours.

Two hundred meters away from him was a simple, single-story house with two rooms. Despite its modest appearance, the house concealed an illegal lab in its basement, a location he had tracked down after three days of investigation based on information provided by Officer Lyao. It was very likely a secret base for the Empire within the Alliance.

He had been staking out this location for three hours, holding off from making a move because he needed a definite answer.

Finally, when night fell, a lev vehicle quietly landed outside the house, and two men stepped out of it.

"Didn’t Dr. Hawk say those seven cyborgs were his secret weapons? How come they couldn’t even kill that woman?"

"That’s no ordinary woman. She killed Prince Hill and Princess Jira."

"She took them by surprise with her psychic power. That’s why Prince Hill and Princess Jira were caught off guard. Those seven cyborgs aren’t afraid of psychic power."

"You should go and watch that Yuri’s live broadcast. An entire mountain was blown up and Yuri didn’t die. She’s a freak."

"Hmph, next time I’ll meet her myself and see how freaky she really is."

"....."

The two men walked into the house, their figures completely disappearing.

The next second, all the metal within the house moved like serpents, slithering out of the structure and passing directly through the bodies of the two men.

Their eyes widened in horror as they witnessed this scene. Immediately afterwards, a metal rod penetrated their skulls, not giving them the chance to utter a single word.

They died with their eyes wide open.

In the distance, Tuss’s eyes held only endless darkness. He walked step by step towards the laboratory, looking like a devil emerging from hell.

Tuss arrived at the house, first taking control of the lev vehicle parked in front. Then he started mobilizing the Enova in his crystal core to infiltrate underground.

The doctors underground who were inspecting the experimental data suddenly felt something off. "The floor seems to be moving."

"Is it an earthquake?"

"The walls are contracting, Dr. Hawk, what should we do?"

"Let’s get to the surface first. The laboratory is made entirely of steel, using the hardest metals. Its structure is not the problem," Dr. Hawk confidently replied.

"No good, the exit has been sealed. It’s completely closed, not a gap in sight."

"Then blast it open, quickly," Dr. Hawk finally panicked, watching the lab’s space rapidly shrinking. He urgently sought help from those above.

However, there was no response on the other side of the communication.

The metal used in the laboratory seemed to have come alive. It melted together and constantly squeezed towards them.

The doctors watched in shock. Despite their extensive knowledge and experience, they had no idea how to explain the situation unfolding before them.

Soon, the metal had them firmly surrounded, constantly closing in... closer... and closer...

Screams echoed in the narrow space, piercing and relentless.

They used to enjoy hearing these sounds, finding the cries of those from the Alliance particularly satisfying. Little did they know that in the last moments of their lives, they would be hearing their own.
