I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 124: Face-Off

Chapter 124: Face-Off

"Did you guys differentiate together?" Professor Gawk exclaimed.

Even the usually confident Hoarah seemed taken aback, grinding his teeth as he said, "Maybe it’s just a coincidence."

Ignoring Hoarah’s response, Professor Gawk hurriedly beckoned Tuss, saying, "Let’s check it out right now."

Testing compatibility was not a hard task. After obtaining their pheromones, Professor Gawk had them wait outside.

The laboratory was well-equipped and it took less than an hour for Professor Gawk to emerge, excitement written all over his face. The moment he was out, he looked at Tuss in awe and said, "Your compatibility is a hundred percent. This is unprecedented. Did you really differentiate together?"

"To be precise, Yuri differentiated first. I was taking care of her at the time, and a day later, I started to differentiate as well. We spent the whole process together," Tuss answered. This was why he suspected his second differentiation might have been induced by Yuri.

She gave him a chance to differentiate a second time.

"I see, that explains it. There are no known cases of alpha or beta differentiating twice in the entire galaxy," Professor Gawk murmured, "Once Yuri wakes up, I would like to conduct a study on this. I might need some physical data from you both, I hope you will agree."

"Ask Officer Lyao. If he agrees, we have no objections," Tuss said, if he didn’t, the med-science enthusiast Professor Gawk might sneakily collect their data anyway. It would be better to give it willingly and perhaps gain a favor in return.

"Of course, I will seek his consent first," Professor Gawk replied, already eager to begin.

When Professor Gawk reentered the lab, only Tuss remained outside. Hoarah was nowhere to be seen, having left at some point.

Tuss smirked. To compare my compatibility with Yuri to his, Hoarah was just embarrassing himself.

On the third day of Tuss and Yuri’s return to Planet Alpha, people from the Empire arrived. Apart from the Empire’s three royal children and about a dozen students from the Empire Military Academy.

The prestigious Military Academy No. 1 had allocated a villa for them as a dormitory, a unique treatment indeed.

Of course, the people from the Empire might have been more pleased if the villa wasn’t situated so far away from the other student dormitories.

That day, as Tuss entered his class, he noticed something was off. The classroom was quieter than usual, with students huddled in small groups, whispering and pointing at two boys sitting at the front.

Tuss’s gaze met theirs, and as though sensing his attention, the two boys returned his look.

As their eyes met, Tuss kept his face unreadable, but he felt a sense of caution. These two didn’t seem ordinary.

"Hello," one of the boys took the initiative to greet Tuss. "I’m Herbert Urigon, this is my big brother, Theodore. We’ve seen your picture, you’re Tuss."

Tuss nodded slightly at them, replying, "Hello, I’m Tuss Hiro."

"Nice to meet you. I’ll just call you Tuss," Theodore greeted Tuss, "If you don’t mind, we could share a row."

"Of course, I don’t mind," Tuss replied, his tone neutral, not overly friendly.

Classroom seats were arranged with one row on each side and one in the middle, each row containing four seats. With Theodore and Herbert seated in the middle, Tuss casually chose an aisle seat.

As soon as he sat down, he noticed something odd.

It was the pheromones.

The royal brothers didn’t completely conceal their own signals. Or rather, they hadn’t done it quite cleanly. A faint scent of roses and amber lingered around them in a radius of about three feet.

No wonder no one was sitting near them.

Is this a challenge? Tuss remained calm, taking his seat and a second later, a chilling woody aroma wafted from him, covering a small area.

Students who were previously nearby hastily moved to the back of the room.

At that moment, a picture of Tuss sitting with the two princes appeared on the interstellar network.

"Look, isn’t the vibe friendly? Who could tell they’re bombarding each other with pheromones?"

"The picture is nice to look at, handsome faces everywhere. I didn’t expect the Empire’s princes to be so good-looking."

"Hey, focus on the pheromones."

"Who won?"

"Can’t tell yet. But the first to lose is the second prince, he’s only SS-tier. He’s already moved his seat, book in hand."

"Are the two SSS-tier still going at it?"

"Yes. The teacher is here now. I’ll update you all after class."

As the teacher walked in, his gaze fell on the two boys at the front and then at the students avoiding them. Realizing what was happening, he said, "I’m only S-tier. Maybe you guys should reign in your pheromones for now?"

It was clear who he was talking about.

Tuss was the first to draw in his pheromones, followed by Theodore.

"Alright then, let’s not waste time, and begin the lesson."

The first and second princes were both in the Mecha Combat Department, while Princess Jira joined Saina’s class in the Design Department.

Unlike the competitiveness among the boys, Jira entered the class with a warm smile for everyone. Her innocent smile, slight dimples, big blue eyes, and sweet face were hard to resist.

When she made an effort to befriend others, even the spoilt and pampered Saina was easily won over. In less than half a day, they became inseparable friends.

"Saina, Officer Lyao said he’s throwing me a welcome party this weekend. Will you attend?" Jira asked.

"Of course, I’ll go with my family," Saina replied.

"That’s wonderful. I’ve just arrived at the Alliance, and I don’t have any friends here. Having you there will save me from getting bored."

"You won’t be bored. I’ll introduce you to some friends."

"That sounds great, thank you, Saina."

"You’re welcome, it’s no big deal."

"Saina, are your friends also betas?"

"Absolutely, we betas usually only befriend other betas."

"Given how amazing you’re, Saina, your friends must be pretty cool too."

"They’re alright, I guess. One of them is an SS-tier like us, the rest are either S or A-tier."

"....."

At the end of the morning session, Theodore and Herbert invited Tuss to join them for lunch, but Tuss declined, saying, "I only drink Nutrient Fluids for lunch."

Theodore and Herbert looked a bit disappointed. "How about dinner then?"

"Alright," Tuss agreed.

Watching Theodore and Herbert walk away, Tuss sipped from a bottle of Nutrient Fluids and headed toward Professor Gawk’s lab.

"So, how did it go earlier? Who was more formidable, you or him?" Daleks, who had been holding back all morning, finally got a chance to ask.

Ender and Kilana also looked curious.

Tuss shrugged, "Not sure, neither of us could get the upper hand."
