I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 123: Compatibility Test

Chapter 123: Compatibility Test

Word got around that Tuss was spotted outside Professor Gawk’s lab. Tuss was noticeably leaner, and if it weren’t for his commanding aura, people would hardly recognize him.

"So Tuss has been brought back?"

"With ten warships dispatched, how could he not be saved?"

"But why hasn’t he returned to class?"

"Hey, Ender, Daleks, any idea why Tuss isn’t back in class?" someone asked Tuss’s closest friends, Ender and Daleks.

Ender and Daleks, of course, knew. They were currently worried about Yuri, and hearing their classmates’ question only deepened their concern. They didn’t want to answer, so they just shook their heads.

"You guys don’t know either." The classmates felt slightly disappointed.

"What about Yuri? Has anyone seen her?"

"No, we only saw Tuss by himself, all day outside the lab, looking really down."

"Do you think something happened to Yuri? Maybe Tuss is waiting for his girlfriend."

"Very likely."

"But if something happened to his girlfriend, shouldn’t he be at the factory, not Professor Gawk’s lab? And we’re talking about Professor Gawk here, even rich folks can’t easily get to meet him, let alone an android."

"Could be his devotion to research. After all, there’s common ground in technology."

"...."

Tuss had been waiting outside Professor Gawk’s lab for over ten hours. Officer Lyao had been busy working in Gawk’s office. For someone as busy as him, staying here for this long was indeed rare.

Yuri had returned to her body too, realizing that when her consciousness was dormant inside her body, it helped her recover faster.

From dusk till dawn, and then night again, Professor Gawk finally came out of the lab. The elderly man was vibrant, his eyes shining with excitement. He addressed the hopeful faces of Tuss and Officer Lyao, "She’s fine. Whoever drugged her likely only wanted her to stay unconscious. You both know how terrifying high-level beta’s psychic power can be—it’s hard to defend against. I already have a lead on the antidote, but it’ll take some time. You both should go home for now; there’s no need to stick around here."

"I’ll send a few people over. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask," Officer Lyao offered.

"I’ll come here in the evenings after class," Tuss declared, his tone leaving no room for arguments.

Professor Gawk didn’t object, saying, "Do whatever you like, I don’t care." With that, he disappeared back into his lab.

"You should go back to class. If anyone asks, don’t say anything, let them guess." Officer Lyao, recalling the imaginative bunch at Military Academy No. 1, wondered what rumors might emerge this time.

Tuss grunted in acknowledgment. He couldn’t tell for sure, but he thought he detected a note of amusement in Officer Lyao’s words.

"Also, the two princes and princess from the Empire should be arriving in a few days. Just act normal when they do, there’s no need to be on edge," Officer Lyao advised.

Tuss grunted again, before changing the subject, "Our mecha was taken by Bloodsuckers."

Officer Lyao choked, gritting his teeth as he said, "I’m not your personal ATM."

Tuss shot him a sidelong glance, stating nonchalantly, "Yuri said the Empire was willing to give up an ore planet of energy stone for her, but the Alliance—"

"Stop, stop, isn’t it just two mechas? I’ll give them to you, alright? I’ll have them delivered to you in a couple of days." Officer Lyao quickly cut him off, afraid Tuss might make more demands. He then hastily retreated from the lab.

Watching his hurried departure, Tuss let a small smirk play on his lips.

It seemed he’d hit a nerve with Officer Lyao.

Tuss’s return to class alone led the students at Military Academy No. 1 to believe that something had happened to Yuri, possibly sent back for repairs. They tried to subtly inquire about which factory Yuri might have been sent to, hoping to order another android of her model from there.

However, whenever someone asked such a question, Tuss would stare at them with his cold, dark eyes. Unable to withstand his intense gaze, the students would retreat within seconds, running off defeated.

"Tuss is really stingy, we’re just asking for the factory’s name, not stealing his girlfriend."

"Probably afraid we’ll each have a Yuri of our own, she is very attractive, after all."

"Don’t even joke, that’s exactly what I planned. Order a Yuri, secretly keep her at home, don’t let anyone see."

"Man, you just said what I was thinking."

"Look at you, you pervs."

"...."

Ender, Daleks, and Kilana, who knew the truth, shared concerned looks for those misinformed individuals.

They should be grateful that Tuz wasn’t there, or else, none of them would live to see the next day’s sun.

After class, Tuss returned to Professor Gawk’s lab, but someone was already there before him.

"Yuri’s inside." Hoarah stated, it wasn’t a question but a declaration.

Tuss’s eyes narrowed dangerously, "I told you to stay away from her."

"And I told you, I didn’t agree." Hoarah met his gaze, his eyes filled with defiance and fearlessness.

"She is my wife, recognized and protected by the Alliance’s law." Tuss’s fist clenched tightly, ready to strike at any moment.

"So what? I’m a better match for her." Hoarah shrugged casually, "Being a better match, as a military academy student, you should know what that means, right?"

"You’re bothering her just because of compatibility?" Tuss’s expression slightly relaxed.

"And what if I am?" Hoarah countered.

"So, if I am a better match for her, you’ll leave her alone?" Tuss questioned.

"Yes." Hoarah was full of confidence, not believing he could lose to Tuss. The moment he smelled Yuri’s pheromone, he knew that Yuri was a gift from the heavens, their unique match. There could be no better pair than them.

"Remember your words, and keep your distance from her in the future." Tuss scorned.

"Of course, I’ll keep my promise, as long as you’re willing to let her take the test." Hoarah’s face lit up with anticipation.

Tuss chuckled softly, "Let get it tested, now."

Professor Gawk looked at the two young men in front of him, frowning, "You both want to know your compatibility with Yuri?"

As far as he knew, Yuri and Tuss were married and their relationship seemed very strong.

"Professor Gawk, no one understands the impact of compatibility on beta and alpha couple’s life better than you." Hoarah stated.

"Yes, it does have an impact, but feelings are more important." Professor Gawk countered.

"Just proceed with the test. I believe my compatibility with Yuri will be very high. I suspect that the reason I differentiated for the second time might be due to Yuri’s influence, as we differentiated together." Tuss confessed what he’d been suspecting all along. Yuri had given him not just the Enova, but also a second chance to differentiate.
