Chapter 122: [Bonus Chapter] The Alliance’s Hope
Like a speck of dust in the vast ocean of stars, the red and green mecha was easily spotted by the battleship.
"We’ve got a lone mecha up ahead." The battleship picked it up before Tuss could spot it.
"Send a communication request to it," Officer Lyao ordered.
"Yes, sir."
The low hum of communication signals filled the silent command center, and in less than a minute, the connection was established.
"It’s me, Tuss," Tuss announced.
"Where are you guys? What’s the situation?" Officer Lyao quickly asked.
"Not so good," Tuss’s voice sounded dark and heavy. "We were taken to a lab. Yuri was injected with something, and she can’t wake up."
Officer Lyao’s forehead furrowed. "We’ll have medics ready. Follow our coordinates."
"Understood."
As soon as the mecha touched down on the battleship, the medics took Yuri from Tuss and placed him on a gurney, quickly pushing him into the surgery room.
As the operating room’s doors swung shut with a bang, Tuss sank into a chair, drained.
"What the heck happened?" Officer Lyao asked.
"We were attacked on the night sky of Sapphire Sea Star. We were about to return home, but we were ambushed. No, not exactly ambushed...we knew they were there. We thought they were from the Alliance, so we didn’t worry..." Tuss slowly explained.
"Bloodsuckers are one of the top ten pirate groups in the galaxy," Officer Lyao said, having knowing part of the situation.
Tuss had heard of the Bloodsuckers. He knew they were strong, but he didn’t know much else.
"As for the old man you mentioned, there’s no record of him in the Alliance. And about the explosion you mentioned, using a human body to carry such massive energy... it’s the first I’m hearing of it."
Officer Lyao thought for a moment, "I’ll send a team to investigate the scene."
Regret filled Tuss’s voice, "I blew up that underground lab."
Officer Lyao massaged his temples, "Good riddance. It should have been blown up."
Three hours later, the operating room doors opened.
The doctors looked grave as they shook their heads at Officer Lyao and Tuss. "We can’t identify the drug."
Tuss’s heart sank. Can the old man’s words be true? Is he the only one who can wake up Yuri? Is all hope for Yuri lost?
Tuss’s world seemed to spin, and he slumped back into his chair.
"Is there really no way?" Officer Lyao asked, his voice serious.
The doctors shook their heads. "We’re helpless. Perhaps Professor Gawk might have a solution. Also, while we can’t identify the drug, we can assure you that it’s not harmful to Yuri’s body."
Officer Lyao let out a sigh of relief, "Don’t worry," he said, patting Tuss’s shoulder. "Planet Alpha has the best doctors. We’ll head there right away."
Five minutes later, a battleship turned around to head home, while the other ten continued to dive deeper into the chaotic galaxy.
"Leave no pirate group standing, especially the Bloodsuckers," were Officer Lyao’s last words before he left.
From that moment, a grand cleansing operation kicked off, sweeping through everything in its path.
The previously mysterious and dangerous Chaotic Galaxy, now invaded by the Alliance’s ten battleships, had its veil of secrecy torn away. Against the powerful firepower of the Alliance, it crumbled.
The fleet had managed to enter so smoothly, largely thanks to Tuss, who had thrown the old man into an aerolite swarm, blasting countless meteors and forcefully reversing the magnetic field of the area, making communication much smoother.
"The Alliance’s army really went to bomb the Chaotic Galaxy?"
"It’s been officially confirmed. The Alliance has dispatched ten battleships. They’re determined to flatten the Chaotic Galaxy."
"Why now of all times? The Alliance’s regard for a certain person is too evident, don’t you think?"
"Are you being sarcastic?"
"Well, it’s the truth. Pirates hijack starships, starships with thousands of people, but the Alliance doesn’t obliterate the pirates. Now, for one SSS-tier Alpha, the Alliance is fearlessly marching into battle. Doesn’t this rankle you?"
"You’re missing the point. Every time pirates hijack a starship, the Alliance is the first to dispatch troops to rescue. Although the results aren’t always ideal, the Alliance is far from indifferent."
"A high-tier Alpha does have a larger role on the insectoids battlefield than tens of thousands of Omegas. It’s understandable that the Alliance is prioritizing this. And by clearing the entire Chaotic Galaxy, the entire Alliance, even the whole galaxy, benefits."
The Interstellarnet was buzzing with debates and discussions about the Alliance’s military action in the Chaotic Galaxy.
After entering his body, Yuri fell into a deep sleep. When she woke up, she found herself back on the battleship.
Her consciousness left her body and she saw Tuss, his face scruffy and haggard, and she felt a pang of worry. Tuss must have been worrying nonstop.
Yuri used his psychic power to open his dimensional button, took out a paper and pen.
Tuss watched as the paper and pen suddenly appeared, his pupils widening in surprise. "Is that you, Yuri?"
Yuri wrote on the paper: Yes. Where are we going now?
"We’re heading back to Planet Alpha. We’re going to see Professor Gawk. He will surely find a way to wake you up," Tuss reassured her.
I’m not worried, I know I’ll wake up. But you, you haven’t slept properly in days, you look awful, Yuri quickly scribbled, I’m going to watch you. Eat something, then go to bed and sleep.
Seeing her words, Tuss immediately rushed to the bathroom to look in the mirror. Staring at his unkempt reflection, he muttered, "Yeah, I do look pretty rough."
He shaved, took a bath, and changed into fresh clothes before lying comfortably back on the bed.
After ensuring Tuss was asleep, Yuri returned to her own body.
The battleship journeyed through the sea of stars for four days, arriving at Planet Alpha in the middle of the night on the fourth day.
Without wasting any time, Tuss and Officer Lyao immediately took Yuri to Professor Gawk’s lab.
Woken up from his sleep, a disgruntled Professor Gawk grumbled, "This better be urgent."
"Indeed, it’s extremely urgent." Officer Lyao pointed to Yuri in the treatment chamber and said, "The hope of the Alliance, we’re entrusting it to you."
Professor Gawk looked puzzled. "What do you mean ’the hope of the Alliance’? How could a young girl be the hope of the Alliance?"
Officer Lyao leaned in close to his ear and whispered, "She’s the Beta everyone’s been searching for."
Professor Gawk’s face changed dramatically. "Really?"
"Absolutely. She is the hope of the Alliance’s Alphas. You must ensure she’s safe." Officer Lyao emphasized gravely, pointing to the two doctors, "They will explain the details to you."
The news of Yuri’s unconsciousness and return to Planet Alpha was received by the three first-tier commanders almost instantly.
"Is Professor Gawk enough? Should we call for a few medical experts from Planet Beta and Sigma?" Perseman suggested.
Planet Beta and Sigma are both among the three central planets of the whole system, second only to Planet Alpha in terms of development.
"We’ll see how things go tomorrow. If Professor Gawk needs help, then we’ll bring others in," the first commander responded.
"Then we’ll just have to wait patiently. If any medication is needed, don’t hesitate to ask. The Alliance will do everything to accommodate," Boan added.
Officer Lyao nodded, replying, "Understood."
