I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 119: SSS-tier Beta

Chapter 119: SSS-tier Beta

High above Sapphire Sea Star, a lev took off, piercing through the cloud layer and darting into the space, flying straight into a starship that was already waiting.

By the time Tuss caught up, all he saw was the flying vehicle entering the starship, and the starship’s door closing.

"They’ve taken three betas and killed eight people," Yuri informed Tuss over their comms.

Tuss’s face instantly hardened. "There’s a modified starship hovering over Sapphire Sea Star. I’m guessing its weaponry isn’t weak."

That could be a problem.

Yuri frowned, "In this case, can we bring down the starship?"

Tuss sighed, "Yuri, if we bring down the starship, the people inside will die too."

Frustrated, Yuri asked, "So what can we do? Isn’t there a way to stop them?"

"Of course, I’ll send a battleship to intercept. Leave this to the military, you guys stay out of it." Officer Lyao’s voice interjected.

Yuri was surprised, "Officer Lyao, you’re here?"

"Nope. I just set a special channel on your mecha. I can contact you whenever I want." Officer Lyao admitted.

Yuri didn’t seem to mind, "You didn’t install a camera, did you?"

Officer Lyao almost choked on his words, "Seriously? Yuri?"

Yuri shrugged, she just wanted to be sure.

"The starship has left." Tuss interrupted Yuri and Officer Lyao’s conversation.

"I’ve already sent someone to follow them, both of you return to Sapphire Sea Star now." Officer Lyao ordered sternly, afraid that they would chase after the starship recklessly.

Surprisingly, Tuss and Yuri responded obediently, "Yes, sir."

With that, they directed their mechas back towards Sapphire Sea Star.

But then, disaster struck. Two shells, traveling faster than light, caught them off guard, heading straight for them. The distance was too close, the speed too fast, they didn’t even have time to react.

BOOM—

Two deafening sounds rang out simultaneously.

In the moment before she passed out, Yuri wondered, could they have been the real targets all along?

When Yuri and Tuss were captured, the high ranks of the Alliance were up all night.

Officer Lyao even led an army from Planet Alpha to chase after the enemy.

"Just to look for two people, they need to dispatch six battleships?"

Everyone found it hard to understand. Even though an SSS-tier alpha is important, aren’t six battleships a bit of an overreaction? Are the kidnappers worth it?

But no one dared to argue, because they noticed that it wasn’t just Officer Lyao behaving oddly. The three level-one commanders also ordered the guard forces at all space-route checkpoints to intercept at all costs, to stop that starship.

Why the extreme measures? Even if a level-one commander was kidnapped, would the Alliance take it so seriously? Moreover, it was just a yet-to-grow SSS-tier alpha who also had a disability.

Then someone put forth a different opinion: Could the Level One commanders and Officer Lyao be making such a fuss over Yuri? After all, Officer Lyao has once gone against the second commander for Yuri.

But as soon as this theory was put forward, it was immediately rebutted by everyone.

Officer Lyao could be reckless, but the three commanders wouldn’t possibly ignore the bigger picture without a special reason.

What was even more surprising was that, with the entire Alliance’s pursuit, they couldn’t even stop a single starship, helplessly watching as it entered the Chaotic Galaxy.

"Commander? Should we continue the chase?"

"Keep chasing. Call in five more battleships. I want to wipe out the pirates in the Chaotic Galaxy."

Officer Lyao gritted his teeth, his face was terrifyingly murderous.

Bassus shuddered. He had been at Officer Lyao’s side for nearly ten years, yet this was the first time he had seen him so full of killing intent.

Bassus thought to himself, Is Tuss really that important? Or is it Yuri who was so important?

The Chaotic Galaxy, a haven for pirates and criminals. There was no law here, everything was decided by force. Every day was filled with killing, looting, and deaths.

On the central planet of the Chaotic Galaxy, there stood a magnificent palace. It towered into the clouds, solemn and awe-inspiring, with reliefs of bloodsuckers on its body, which looked quite frightening.

This palace was the headquarters of the Bloodsucker Pirates. The group’s top two leaders, as well as a bunch of key members, were all here.

"Did you get them?" An impatient old man in a white lab coat, with white hair, sat in the chief seat.

"We do, of course." The leader of the Bloodsuckers, Ex, respectfully said.

The old man’s eyes lit up, "Both of them?"

"Yes, both were captured." Ex didn’t understand and said, "I understand why you wanted to capture Tuss. But why Yuri? She’s just an omega, and might even be an android. Aren’t you going to study alphas and betas anymore and start studying robots?"

"Fool." The old man scolded, "What do you know? That Yuri isn’t simple. Can an ordinary omega perform so many superhuman feats? Kill level eight insectoids? Make Lyao say that they would save her even if it means not saving the first commander?"

Ex pondered and then said, "Don’t worry, as soon as they arrive, I’ll send them over to you immediately."

Yuri didn’t know how long she had been unconscious, and she didn’t know how much longer she would remain unconscious.

At this moment, she was awake, but not fully.

Because only her consciousness was awake, her body was still asleep.

She saw herself lying in a large, transparent container. She saw people in white lab coats sticking something on her body. She saw someone peel off her gland patch, take a long syringe, and draw out a jar of blood mixed with beta essence—

Yuri watched as they took her blood away, presumably for some sort of testing and examination.

She wandered around this lab-like place and saw Tuss in another room.

Tuss was lying on a hospital bed, with two people in white lab coats examining his legs.

"We can’t remove them, they don’t look like prosthetic limbs."

"So what are they? They’re not flesh and blood either."

"Could they be plastic or metal, or perhaps some kind of special synthetic material?"

"Don’t rush, we’ll test them one by one later. Now, let’s first look at his gland, let’s see what mysteries his body holds that allows him to differentiate a second time."

Yuri watched as they fiddled with instruments on Tuss’s body, cutting into him—

Even though she was currently only a spirit, when the sharp tool cut into Tuss’s flesh, she still felt a pang in her heart.

They were actually going to open up Tuss’s chest.

Yuri could not contain her anger, and two streams of psychic power flew straight towards the two people in white lab coats.

With two thuds, the two lab-coated individuals fell to the ground, unconscious.

Yuri moved closer to the bed, trying to figure out how to wake up Tuss, when this time, an excited, even slightly crazed voice came, "Hahaha, an SSS-tier beta, it’s actually an SSS-tier beta, to think that I could get a living SSS-tier beta in my lifetime—"

Before her stood an old man, his hair as white as snow. He was frail, like a brittle old tree, and there was a stench of decay and a gloominess radiating from him.

Just one look at him, and Yuri felt a wave of revulsion swell within her.

The old man was busy analyzing some data, his face wrinkling up like dried bark. "Something’s off," he muttered in confusion. "It’s not just SSS-tier... more than that. It’s not three S’s, it’s four..."

His body shook violently, his pupils dilated in shock, and his face twisted in horror. He seemed ready to pass out at any moment.
