I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 117: A Bountiful Harvest
Chapter 117: A Bountiful Harvest
Cool ocean water washed over them, providing sweet relief from the stifling heat.
"Can we just jump right into the ocean, no gear?" Yuri asked.
"You’ll be fine, as androids don’t need to breathe," Tuss said.
Yuri narrowed his eyes, and a chill ran down Tuss’s back. The next moment, Yuri had grabbed him by the neck and pulled him into the water. Just as they submerged, he heard Yuri taunting, "Yeah, I don’t need to breathe, what about you?"
Under the sparkling blue water, Yuri’s left arm locked around Tuss’s neck, his right arm shot out a metallic chain, piercing the underwater rocks.
As the metallic chain retracted, Yuri and Tuss moved swiftly through the water.
After a few iterations, Yuri and Tuss found themselves far away from the beach, heading towards deeper and more remote parts of the ocean —
Not until they were three miles away, Yuri released Tuss, pointed at the fishes in the sea, and signaled him to go for it.
Tuss gave an indulgent smile, silently replied, "Just wait."
Of course, Yuri did not wait. While Tuss used a metallic net to catch fish, she went after abalones, sea urchins, crabs, and shrimps.
In the deep sea, unnoticed by anyone, they used their Enova to their advantage, discovering hundreds of ways to catch fish and shrimp.
Ender gave them four large nets. Worried they wouldn’t catch enough, Yuri and Tuss created three more large nets using the materials in their dimensional buttons. They returned only when they had filled all the nets.
The seven large nets were stowed in Tuss’s dimensional button. Yuri climbed onto Tuss’s back, held onto his shoulders, and let him carry her back.
"We’re about four miles from the beach, are you sure you want me to swim?" Originally, they were only three miles away, but they had unintentionally drifted while catching the sea creatures.
"Can’t swim four miles?" Yuri teased.
"Of course not," Tuss gritted his teeth, "We swim."
So, Yuri laid leisurely on Tuss’s back, sometimes splashing water, sometimes tickling Tuss, totally at ease.
The next time she reached to tickle Tuss, he suddenly flipped over, pushing her under the water, and swiftly kissed her.
They tangled underwater, surrounded by beautiful fishes, sea grass, and corals...
On the beach, their classmates from the mecha combat department were playing volleyball.
Suddenly, someone shouted, "Help—"
The students stopped in their tracks, "Did someone just call for help?"
"Darn, someone’s drowning."
"Over there."
They pointed towards the sea. In the waves, one or two tiny spots flickered in and out of sight.
The students from the mecha combat department didn’t waste a second, they dashed into the water.
"The waves are getting bigger, anyone not confident shouldn’t blindly go in," Ender yelled.
Some students halted upon hearing this.
"Swimming isn’t my strong suit, I’ll find some lifesaving tools."
"Me too, let’s go together."
Thanks to the collective efforts of the mecha combat department students, the two people who were drowning were rescued. They were two young men.
"My child, my baby, please help my child—"
A woman fell to her knees before Ender and the others, her cries heart-wrenching.
One of the rescued men was also in tears, mumbling, "I failed... I couldn’t save our child."
Ender and the others grimaced. It had been a while; the chances for the child’s survival seemed slim.
The rescuers continued to search using drones and levs.
Ender and the rest gave up on diving back into the water. The waves were growing bigger, and darkness was creeping in, making it dangerous to go back into the sea.
Moreover, it had been nearly twenty minutes since the child had fallen into the water. The child could have been swept anywhere by now.
At this moment, someone said, "Why haven’t Tuss and Yuri come back yet?"
"How long have they been gone?"
"Four or five hours."
"That long? Could they be in danger?"
"I’ll try contacting them."
"....."
The students of the mecha combat department started to worry.
"Contact us for what?"
Tuss and Yuri emerged from the ocean, Tuss cradling a child around seven or eight years old in his arms.
"My child, it’s my child—"
The woman screamed, rushing towards them.
The child was breathing steadily, and within a few moments, he woke up. Seeing his parents, he immediately burst into tears. His parents comforted him in a fluster, which eventually turned into a group hug and a loud cry.
Once they had calmed down, they suddenly remembered their saviors.
But their saviors were nowhere to be seen.
"Do any of you know where those teenagers went?" The woman asked.
"Especially the last boy and girl. They saved our child’s life. We didn’t even get a chance to thank them." The man added.
"Those kids left a while ago. But it’s easy to find them. They’re famous on the Interstellarnet." Someone recognized Yuri and Tuss.
"Famous? Are they celebrities?" The man had been too focused on his child to notice their faces.
"No, not celebrities. Celebrities can’t compare to them. They’re Tuss and Yuri, don’t tell me you don’t know them." A bystander replied, surprised.
The man was speechless with shock.
The woman was also astounded, "So it was them. No wonder..."
After taking a shower and changing their clothes, Yuri and Tuss joined Ender and the others, heading towards the barbecue camp they had rented.
"It’s right ahead. Picture this: tonight, we’ll be enjoying barbecue under the sea breeze. It’s going to be so chill," Ender said, then turned to Tuss and Yuri, "Where’s the seafood you guys caught?"
"You think sea creatures are easy to catch?" Tuss replied, rolling his eyes, "Don’t tell me you didn’t buy any ingredients."
Ender’s face froze for a moment, "I bought vegetables, fruits, wine, and drinks."
"A vegetarian feast tonight?" Tuss frowned.
"Wasn’t the meat your responsibility?" Ender raised his voice.
The others started looking at them, waiting for an explanation.
"How about we order from Interstellarnet and have it delivered here?"
"We can. But it’s going to be a bit expensive due to the high labor costs around here."
"Order more, I’m starving."
"I’m hungry too."
"....."
The students rubbed their stomachs as their growls echoed in unison.
Ender opened his opticomputer and began selecting ingredients.
"Don’t buy, he’s messing with you." Yuri stopped Ender.
Ender turned around, his eyes blazing. "Everyone, get him."
Tuss hid behind Yuri, "The ingredients are with me. You better treat me with respect, or else, hmph—"
The others gritted their teeth, frustration flaring but holding back.
"Yuri, do something about him." Daleks complained.
Yuri didn’t plan on interfering, instead, she changed the subject, "Do any of you know how to grill?"
Both her and Tuss’s cooking skills were non-existent. Because of this, she was a bit worried about tonight’s dinner.
"Don’t worry, Yuri. Several of our classmates took cooking as an elective and did very well." Daleks said.
Yuri sighed in relief, "As long as someone knows how to grill, we’ll be okay."
As soon as they arrived at the campsite, Tuss brought out seven large nets. The sight of the overflowing nets stunned everyone.
"Holy cow. That’s a lot."
"Did you guys really catch all this?"
"Maybe they went on a date and bought it from the fishermen."
"That’s definitely possible."
