I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 112: Stealing Yuri’s Clothes
Chapter 112: Stealing Yuri’s Clothes
Yuri could feel Hoarah’s stare, as hot as fire, on her back.
She felt more and more uneasy around Hoarah, and silently decided to look into this ’compatibility’ thing he’d mentioned. She wanted to know what it was all about.
Down below, Hoarah forced himself to look away.
Tuss stomped up to him, eyes flashing with anger, and said, "I challenge you."
Hoarah shook his head, "I won’t brawl with you. I want a fair competition."
Arya, who had been watching the whole time, couldn’t help but speak up. "You’re nuts," she said. "They’re together, so what’s there to compete over?"
Hoarah glanced at Arya. "You wouldn’t get it." He turned and walked off.
On the Interstellarnet, disappointment echoed through the crowd.
"Man, they didn’t even throw punches."
"Just one hit would have been good."
"Yuri is so level-headed. If she had shown any sympathy for Hoarah, Tuss would have freaked."
"Seriously, Yuri is so cool. She drops her pursuers just like that—so harsh."
"But that’s why she’s awesome. I like her even more now."
"She’s so principled. But doesn’t she seem kind of robotic? If you were her, with two super powerful alphas fighting over you, could you stay calm? Would you treat your pursuers like she does?"
"Now that you mention it, something does feel off. Yuri obviously prefers Tuss."
"Exactly! I’ve been thinking the same thing."
"Do you think she might be an anddroid? It would explain her crazy skills."
"...."
Meanwhile, Yuri had no idea that while she was searching about ’compatibility, the rumors about she was an android had risen.
As word spread, the doubts became solid beliefs.
"’Compatibility’ means how well beta elements and pheromones match. The better the match, the less alphas and betas repel each other. It makes spiritual guidance easier, marking more efficient, and married life more peaceful. Studies also suggest that high compatibility might lead to stronger alpha or beta kids. When noble families marry off their kids, compatibility is a big deal...."
The more Yuri read, the more confused she felt.
Finally, she shut off her computer with a loud snap and plopped onto her bed. Who cares about compatibility? If Hoarah tries anything, I’ll give him a taste of her fist.
The next morning, Yuri noticed people staring at her, as if she were some exotic animal.
"Yuri, may I touch your hand?" Sagato asked carefully.
"What?" Yuri asked, confused, "Why do you want to touch my hand?"
"I’m just...just curious," Sagato stuttered, her face turning red. For some reason, whenever she was around Yuri, her heart would race.
Seeing Sagato’s face turn red, Yuri decided not to make her feel more embarrassed. She held out her left hand, paused, and then offered her right hand too.
Sagato timidly touched both of Yuri’s hands. Her eyes went wide the next moment.
"Is something wrong?" Yuri asked, pulling her hands away.
"No, n-nothing." Sagato shook her head. She was as stiff as a board as she left Yuri’s desk awkwardly.
"So, how was it?"
The moment Sagato sat down, her classmates crowded around her, eager for answers.
"Her hands are amazing," Sagato sighed dreamily. "Like smooth slik. I couldn’t see any pores. They’re so soft and delicate."
Jealousy spread across the faces of the other students. They all wanted to touch Yuri’s hands too.
"Do you think she’s a human or an android?"
"She’s too perfect," Sagato sighed again. "So perfect that it doesn’t feel real. And her right hand... it was warm."
"Wait, the bionic hand was warm?"
"Maybe it’s got a temperature control feature."
"..."
With Sagato’s description, the idea that Yuri was a robot grew even more among the students.
Smash—
Back at the dorm, Saina knocked everything off a table in anger. "Yuri can’t be an android," she hissed, her face twisted with denial.
Saina had seen Yuri bleed. She had seen the worry on Officer Lyao and Tuss’s faces. She had seen Yuri being rushed into surgery.
She insisted that Yuri couldn’t, absolutely couldn’t, be a robot.
Even if Alliance tech could fake reality, mimic wounds and blood, she refused to believe it.
Saina didn’t want to believe she was less than a robot. That Tuss would choose an android over her.
What a joke. That can’t be true.
The first two periods in the afternoon were all physical training. Running, fighting, climbing, obstacle courses... Yuri lost count of all the exercises.
She tried them all one by one. When the two periods were over, she still hadn’t finished all the tasks.
Yuri felt a twinge of regret. She’d have to finish next time.
She followed everyone else to the locker room, planning to shower and change.
When it was her turn, she had less than ten minutes before the next class. She quickly put the dimensional buttons in the pocket of her jacket, and ran into the shower only with a pair of pants and a tank top,.
She hosed off the sweat, dried herself, and got dressed—all in less than five minutes.
But when she came out, her jacket, which she’d left out, was missing.
The dimensional buttons was in the jacket, and the beta suppressants were in the button.
Yuri looked around the locker room—it was empty. She ran out, just as everyone was hurrying to their classes.
Seeing her looking so frantic, they all turned to look at her, their eyes landing on her right arm which was supposed to have a terrifying scar there.
To everyone’s surprise, Yuri’s arm didn’t look like they’d expected. There were no ugly scars, and it was hard to see where it had been cut off. The skin was as smooth as butter, and her arm shimmered in the sunlight. It looked almost too beautiful to be real.
Right now, Yuri was only worried about her missing dimensional button. She didn’t notice the people staring at her.
"Officer Lyao, someone stole my dimensional button," Yuri said, calling Officer Lyao’s number right away.
Officer Lyao’s face went pale. "Stay right there."
So Yuri waited, and also called Tuss to let him know what happened.
In the middle of his class, Tuss suddenly got up, saying, "Ma’am, I have an emergency. I need to leave."
"What’s going on?" asked the teacher.
"Yuri’s dimensional button is gone," Tuss said.
"What?" Daleks blurted out, sounding shocked.
Ender and Kilana looked just as shocked.
"Did she lose something valuable in the button? Or did she just leave it somewhere and forget?" the teacher asked.
"Ma’am, this is really important. I need to go now," Tuss said, walking out of the classroom without waiting for an answer.
"I’m going too," Daleks said, following Tuss.
Ender and Kilana were quick to join them.
The teacher and the rest of the class just stared, confused. It’s just a lost dimensional button. Why does it need such a big search party?
