I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 110: Yuri’s True Power
Chapter 110: Yuri’s True Power
"Dig here, there’s someone underneath," Yuri instructed, while she swiftly moved around the rubble, looking for something.
Ender and Daleks exchanged glances, gathering everyone around, "There are survivors beneath us, we need all hands on deck."
With the help of her Enova and psychic power, Yuri quickly pinpointed a spot. "Ender, Daleks, help me here."
Yuri began to shift large rocks and debris with her own hands. She needed help with the remaining dirt and broken stones.
"Daleks, is Tuz underneath?" Daleks asked, his eyes fixed on her.
Yuri responded with a barely audible hum.
"Is he still alive?" Ender asked, feeling his question absurd. How would Yuri know if someone beneath layers of earth and stone was alive or dead without any equipment? But his intuition told him that Yuri knew.
Yuri hummed once more, her hands swiftly shoveling earth with a spade that seemed to come out of nowhere. When a large piece of broken wall and metal was revealed, she lifted it up without a word and tossed it aside. She was so fast, Ender and the others could barely keep up.
After about fifteen minutes of digging, Yuri and the others had dug a hole nearly thirty feet deep.
When they saw a pair of legs, tears suddenly dropped from Yuri’s eyes. "I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have let you go in," she murmured.
A triangular piece of metal was protecting Tuss’s head and most of his body, but his legs were exposed.
Yuri pulled Tuss out, shouting, "Doctor!"
Several disheveled doctors rushed over, their faces troubled. "We don’t have any instruments here."
"Just give me a rough assessment," Yuri said, laying Tuss on the grass. She then took out the medical pod gifted by the Third Commander Boan.
The white medical pod materialized on the grass, startling the doctors.
"Will this help?" Yuri asked.
"Yes, yes, this will be more than enough," one of the doctors responded enthusiastically. A medical pod made by the Alliance’s top technology was like a mini hospital.
"Please, help me put him inside," Yuri requested.
She watched as the doctors stripped Tuss down to his underwear and carefully placed him inside the medical pod, starting the treatment process.
After confirming that Tuss’s condition was stable, Yuri returned to the ruins.
"Yuri, where should we dig next?" Daleks asked, his worry easing, knowing Tuss was now safe.
Yuri pointed out a few locations. And both Ender and Daleks trusted her and called their comrades to help.
They followed Yuri’s direction. Wherever she pointed, they dug, most of them classmates just returning from the mecha training room.
They did not question, they did not doubt, they just got to work.
Half an hour later, they had rescued people from each place Yuri had pointed at. Some spots held more than one person.
When Yuri stopped giving directions, the faces of Ender and Daleks darkened. They knew there was a high chance no more survivors were left beneath the ground.
"Yuri, could you check again?" Daleks asked hesitantly.
"I’ve already checked three times." Yuri’s face was pale, a side effect of overusing her psychic power.
"Then you should be with Tuz. We’ll handle the rest," Daleks decided.
Even if there were no more living people beneath the ground, they still needed to retrieve the bodies.
Yuri, wheeling the medical pod, took the lev to Yuda Memorial Hospital. The doctors eyed her medical pod with a bit envy. They initially wanted to tell her that the pod was more than enough, so they didn’t need to go to the hospital, but considering that the patient inside was an SSS-tier alpha. They swallowed their words.
After all, he was a treasure of the Alliance. They could never be too careful.
An hour passed after a series of detailed examinations. The results were as expected—Tuss’s injuries weren’t serious. He had been knocked unconscious by the energy blast and would wake up after a few hours in the medical pod.
Relieved, Yuri paid the fees and took the lev back to the mansion with the medical pod.
Two consecutive nights of incidents had exhausted the students of Military Academy No. 1. Fortunately, the school understood the strain and granted them two days off.
Upon waking up, the students’ first action was to check the interstellarnet.
"What really happened last night? Any updates?"
"A whole school hospital got blown up, we need answers."
"It must be those jerks from the Empire."
"What good is knowing if we don’t have proof?"
"So infuriating. I heard dozens of people died."
"Three doctors on duty, four nurses, sixteen students, twelve security team members, and five soldiers. If we weren’t quick to respond, the number could have been higher."
"Speaking of which, we have to mention the savior."
"Words are not enough. Everyone should watch the video."
"I’ve seen it, or I’d never believe it was real."
"Could she be a robot, not a human?"
"I wonder the same. No equipment can be as accurate as she was."
"...."
Yuri had slept next to the medical pod. When she woke up, the pod was empty.
"You’re awake?" Tuss was sitting on the sofa, communicating with Officer Lyao.
Upon seeing Yuri, Officer Lyao rubbed his forehead, saying reluctantly, "Rumors are spreading that you’re an android."
Yuri was confused. How did I become an android?
"Because of last night’s events, your strength, your precise rescue, and also, you didn’t have a physical when you entered the academy. It has led them to suspect—you’re not human," Officer Lyao explained.
Yuri twitched her lips. Somehow, that sounded like an insult.
"They believe that you are an android created by the Alliance specifically to protect Tuss. The status of a married couple makes it easier for you to guard him closely," Officer Lyao added.
"You seem to have a lot of free time to keep up with such wild speculations," Yuri teased.
Officer Lyao choked on his words and ignored Yuri. He turned to Tuss and said, "I’ll have people investigate based on the clues you provided. This time, I’ll root out all of them."
After finishing his words, Officer Lyao ended the communication.
"What happened with the explosion last night?" Yuri asked. The Military Academy No. 1 had numerous checkpoints; a bomb shouldn’t have been able to get in.
"It was a suicide bomber. Something developed in an underground lab," Tuss explained, rubbing his forehead. "The lab is very likely under the Empire’s influence."
A flash of murderous intent passed in Yuri’s eyes. "Where is this underground lab?"
Tuss shook his head. "We’re still investigating. Officer Lyao suggested we leave Planet Alpha for a while."
"Why?" Yuri was confused. Wasn’t the issue already resolved? Plus, if Planet Alpha wasn’t safe, other places would only be more dangerous.
"The Empire’s first prince, second prince, and third princess are coming to Military Academy No. 1 as exchange students," Tuss revealed.
