I Got A Title: Lord Of The Time! -
Chapter 86: The room of bridges and stairs!
Chapter 86: The room of bridges and stairs!
If what Lin saw could be described in one word, it would be:
Madness!
That’s because the sights Lin witnessed were so broken and surreal that it seemed this place wasn’t bound by any physical laws of the natural world at all!
Lin frowned and rubbed his eyes to get a clearer look at what he was seeing.
They were in a large surreal room filled with countless small bridges and staircases that led both upwards and downwards at the same time. They were like worms burrowing through the earth: crawling in all directions and creating countless unnecessary paths that served no purpose whatsoever!
"I think this is the most unusual place in the world that I’ve ever seen..." Lin sighed and looked at the spot where their group was standing.
At that moment, their group of six people stood on a small ledge, around 5-6 meters in size. At the center of the ledge, there was a staircase that led to a bridge, which then branched off into many smaller paths leading to other levels.
Lin couldn’t help but be amazed.
"Didn’t think I’d ever see something so bizarre in my life..." Royal muttered.
Aran laughed and pointed to the many bridges and staircases.
"It’s truly amazing. Imagine if each of these bridges and staircases leads to nowhere — that’s a clear sign of the meaninglessness of everything."
Silia shook her head at Aran’s statement and pointed to one of the ledges, which had a regular-sized red door.
"That’s not a sign of meaninglessness. Look, there’s a red door over there. I suspect this area may function like a kind of staircase system that leads to different levels with locations."
"Hm?" Aran was surprised and looked at the ledge Silia was pointing to, indeed spotting the red door. He smiled slightly and said:
"Then that makes it even more interesting. The owner of this castle was a very interesting person. Let’s go to one of these doors and open it as soon as we can."
Lin shook his head and suggested:
"Egro and Yulan need to rest, and I’m also very tired. Everyone needs rest, so let’s rest first, then begin exploring."
Royal and Silia instantly agreed with Lin, as their exhaustion was indeed very high. Because of that reaction, Aran had no choice but to sit on the floor and rest along with the others.
"There are many different doors here. Which one should we enter first?"
Royal looked around and noticed that many of the branching paths from their staircase led to various doors. He carefully examined each one and made a quick observation:
"The closest ones to us are the red, blue, and orange doors. The red door seems to be the smallest, so opening it first shouldn’t be too difficult. The largest door is the orange one. It’s about the same size as the black door behind us."
"So, we’ll go to the red door first?" asked Silia.
Royal and Aran nodded at the same time, showing that indeed, the first door they planned to open would be the red one.
Lin looked at the colorful doors and asked:
"And what could be hidden behind these doors, assuming we’re not talking about just other floors?"
Aran smiled, as if he’d been waiting for someone to ask that.
"If we rule out regular floors, then perhaps these doors might hide various trials, like the one we already went through. But it’s also possible there’s something else inside. For example..." he raised both hands and brought them together, then mimicked an explosion with them!
"Boom!"
Aran laughed and explained:
"Maybe inside these doors are other worlds or their projections."
Lin raised an eyebrow and asked:
"Do you really think these Mages are capable of creating worlds?"
Aran shrugged.
"I’m not sure, but anything is possible. According to the data we have, these Mages are able to manifest what exists in nature. So theoretically, manifesting an entire world shouldn’t be too difficult for them."
"Either way, we’ll find out if we open one of the doors..."
With that clear hint, Aran was trying to tell the group that it was time to end the break and start acting. After all, this place was so unusual that it simply had to be explored!
But no one paid attention to Aran’s hint and continued to rest.
Aran sighed and sat down to rest with everyone else.
Minutes passed.
After several dozen minutes, the group of six had finally rested enough and were ready to begin exploring the sights and doors of the area.
Royal slowly stood up and pointed to the red door that wasn’t too far from their ledge.
"That way. Let’s go check it out and see what these doors might be hiding."
Everyone nodded and slowly headed to the staircase at the center of their ledge.
The staircases had no railings, which made falling from them very easy. If someone didn’t manage to grab onto something in time, they could fall straight down — onto other bridges or staircases — and that would be the best-case scenario. In the worst case, a person might just keep falling endlessly into an unknown abyss.
So all six moved very carefully, though from the outside, it looked like they were just walking normally.
Once the group finished climbing down the stairs, they found themselves on a bridge that initially was one single path, but then split off into multiple directions.
Royal looked at the red door and realized that to reach it, they’d need to take the right branch, then climb one of the three staircases upward, and then walk a few more dozen meters.
All in all, it was a difficult route.
He sighed and led the group along the path he had just memorized.
"To the right branch," he quickly said and walked down the first road.
Everyone followed him, glancing around to take in the unusual beauty and capture it in their minds.
"This place is so strange..." Yulan muttered.
Egro nodded in agreement.
"Definitely... I’ll remember this for a long time."
"Don’t stare too much, or you might get dizzy and fall," warned Silia.
Egro and Yulan quickly got the message and started walking without looking around too much.
Royal continued the path. When they reached the three staircases, he chose the one in the middle and began climbing it.
They quickly made their way to the top and saw a large bridge, several dozen meters long, that led straight ahead — ending with the red door in sight.
Royal smiled and walked forward across the bridge.
After a few dozen seconds, the group reached the red door and stood in front of it.
"Let me," Aran stepped forward and grabbed the handle of the red door, beginning to pull it toward himself.
Click!
The door opened easily and revealed its interior to the six people.
All of them widened their eyes!
