I Got A Title: Lord Of The Time! -
Chapter 85: Running!
Chapter 85: Running!
Five people quickly ran further down the large, bright corridor, paying no attention to anything, as behind them was a deadly wall that could turn them into mincemeat at any moment!
Silia looked ahead and saw a small figure standing still and watching them.
She said:
"We need to catch up with Royal quickly. His hallucinations have already passed, and he’s waiting for us."
Egro looked back and saw that the wall with very sharp spikes was getting closer and closer to their group!
"That’s easier said than done! Physically, we’re slower than that wall!"
Lin, who was running faster than anyone else, looked back and saw Egro and Yulan falling further behind the group and getting closer to the deadly wall that could shred them in an instant.
"They all need to improve their physical stats," he slowed down slightly, and when he reached Egro and Yulan, he grabbed their hands and ran with even more force!
"Thanks... Lin," Egro muttered, trying to tune his body to Lin’s speed.
"Lin... thanks, a lot!" Yulan could only say that and almost slipped!
"Don’t look back. Just run forward," he told Egro and Yulan.
Both nodded and focused on the path ahead.
By that time, the group of five had managed to cover a significant distance and caught up with Royal, who also started running with them.
Royal, running at great speed, looked at the five and smiled.
"I’m glad you were able to get out of that situation."
Silia gave him a cold look but still said nothing in response. But Aran laughed and nodded, saying:
"Yeah, yeah. That was really something. Especially when you saw those pirates... By the way, where are they?" he looked around but didn’t see the people he wanted.
"They’re gone because I already killed them."
"Oh?" Aran expressed surprise, then continued: "And where are the items you got from them? You know, as a kid I really loved pirates — they seemed like people living life to the fullest, with complete freedom in their hands. I’m very interested in their stuff, so I’m willing to buy it for a good price..."
Royal felt strong irritation from Aran, but managed to restrain his emotions. He looked at the wall with sharp spikes and said, changing the subject:
"What are we going to do about that? We can’t keep running at this pace for much longer. And I’m sure this castle has more trials than just those riddles."
But no one responded.
He looked at everyone’s faces, expecting an answer.
"...You really have no ideas?"
Silia sighed and suggested:
"We can’t deal with that wall. Only Lin can outrun it with his ability. We need to find some kind of room or maybe a second floor, where we might have a chance to escape from this wall."
"But these corridors are really long," Lin quickly noted.
Without turning around, she answered her brother:
"Then we have no choice but to keep running forward."
The six people used all their strength not to fall behind and not end up next to the deadly wall. After all, none of them planned to die yet!
After covering a significant distance, the group was already quite exhausted and couldn’t maintain their previous pace. They had to slow down a bit to regain some strength. But during this time, the deadly wall began to catch up and was right on their heels!
"We need to think of something... Because if we don’t do anything, we’ll end up in the afterlife..." Egro said, completely exhausted, and was about to stop to rest. But Lin kept pulling him forward by the hand, to the point where he almost stopped feeling it.
The same was true for Yulan.
She was very grateful to Lin, but she could no longer hold on, and her appearance changed from beautiful to somewhat — ugly out. Though it was wrong to call such a girl ugly, the fact still remained.
Royal, fully focused on running, looked ahead and saw the outline of a large door.
"A door?.." he squinted and indeed saw a large black door that was closed!
"There’s a door!" he shouted and continued:
"It’s big, black, and closed. We’ll have to try to open it. Of course, if it allows us to."
Everyone looked ahead at the black door with hope in their eyes and smiled at the same time!
"We don’t have much time to try opening it if it’s locked," said Silia.
Aran smiled.
"Then all we can do is hope."
The group pushed harder and ran toward the black door with great hope.
When they finally reached it, Yulan and Egro immediately collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily, as if they’d run an entire marathon without any rest.
Royal quickly approached the black door and first tried pushing it to open. To his surprise, the door opened slightly, giving a minimal glimpse of what was inside the room.
"The door can be opened, we just need enough physical strength," he looked at everyone, then continued: "We need to act quickly before the deadly wall reaches us and kills us."
Aran looked into the distance at the wall and slowly announced:
"We’ve got about a minute to open this door. If we don’t make it in time, we’ll end up dead," he smiled slightly.
Silia nodded.
"Then let’s act fast."
Though the group was very tired, this was a life-or-death moment. If they didn’t try a little harder, they could very well die. So they gathered all their strength and began working to open the black door!
Lin and Aran stood at the right side of the door, placing both hands forward and pressing against it to try to use all their strength. Royal and Silia did the same on the left side.
"Begin!" Royal announced.
The four people immediately began using all their strength to try to open the door!
"One! Two! Push!"
"One! Two! Push!"
"One! Two! Push!"
Royal shouted the words in rhythm to help coordinate their efforts. And it worked — after a few dozen seconds of this, they managed to open the door wide enough!
"That’s enough, let’s get inside quickly!"
Royal and Aran entered the black door first.
Then came Silia, who was the third to go in.
Then Lin grabbed Yulan and Egro and quickly rushed inside!
Bang!
Just as Yulan’s foot crossed the threshold, the deadly wall arrived at high speed and slammed into the black door with a loud crash!
Luckily, the deadly wall was clearly larger than the black door, which meant the group survived.
"Whew." Lin exhaled and looked at the room they had entered.
He widened his eyes in amazement!
