Chapter 92: Chapter 92 Earth worm monsters

Her cheeks were a little flushed, her eyes glassy, but she clapped her hands softly and said, "Alright, my little stars. Let’s all sit together now, okay?"

Her voice trembled just a little, but she smiled anyway.

"Nothing bad is going to happen. Teacher is right here. Let’s all stay close, and take deep breaths."

Sable sniffled but nodded.

Rocky rolled back into his soft boy form and clung to Boo’s sleeve.

Kelpie dabbed his cheeks, eyes still wide, but moved to sit near the teacher.

Drake hovered down and folded his arms, cheeks still pink.

Luna stomped once — then plopped beside Felix. And Vlad Jr. walked elegantly, brushing invisible dust off his uniform like nothing happened, but quietly sat closest to Alina’s desk.

Even Lucian... slowly sat beside her without a word.

They were still shaken.

But Alina’s calm had become their anchor.

She looked around at their teary, tired faces, then took a slow breath and sat down on the floor with them.

"Let’s stay here a little while," she whispered. "Together."

Her voice was tired.

But full of love.

It was the first time Alina had handled such a situation, but she made sure to pay attention to every child and tried to stabilize things.

The crystal at the front of the classroom flickered again with red light before it glowed steadily.

Then Dante’s voice came through. Calm. Deep. Controlled. "Things are stabilised. All guardians are now being summoned to pick up their children. Please remain where you are."

The announcement echoed through the room.

Alina sat frozen for a moment, her breath caught in her throat.

Then, slowly, she exhaled.

Her shoulders dropped. Her arms sagged slightly.

One by one, the babies were called.

Lucian was the first to leave — his father trusted demon appearing silently at the door. The boy glanced back once, his eyes lingering on Alina for the briefest second before he was gone.

Then Vlad Jr., walking tall and quiet, left with a graceful figure in black velvet.

Drake waved weakly as his guardian picked him up.

Kelpie hesitated at the door, but Alina gave him a soft smile and wave that gave him enough courage to go.

Rocky clung to Boo’s sleeve until the ghost child floated away too.

Even Luna gave her a long, unreadable look before walking out with her father most trusted worrier.

Felix had been picked by someone too, but before walking off, he turned and mouthed a tiny ’Bye.’

Sable was also picked by someone And then, the room was empty.

Utterly still.

Alina stood there for a second, staring at the door as if it had taken a piece of her heart with it.

She could still feel their little hugs on her skin. Still hear their cries in her ears.

She turned slowly, grabbed her bag with stiff fingers, and walked toward the staffroom.

Her footsteps echoed down the hall.

By the time she stepped inside the staffroom, her body was trembling. Her knees almost gave out.

Gabriel was already there. He turned sharply when he saw her.

"Alina," he said softly, moving to her side and holding her by the shoulders. "Hey, hey... calm down. Breathe, alright?"

Her lips parted. "W-What was that? What happened today?"

She felt like her breath had shattered.

Gabriel looked at her with gentle, pained eyes and guided her into a chair.

"Actually..." he began quietly, "it was Earth Worm monsters."

Alina blinked, unable to process the words.

"They’re extremely cunning. They don’t look dangerous from the outside... but they’re the enemies of every known race. Demonic, angelic, fae, beast, elf — no one is safe."

He paused.

And then said the words that made her heart stop.

"They... feed on babies."

Alina felt like the floor disappeared under her.

"What?"

"They kidnap babies. Especially those under the age of ten. They magically lure them or snatch them in silent spaces. Then... they eat them," Gabriel said, his angelic voice cracking. "Because their bodies can’t digest adult organs. But young ones — soft bones, small magic cores — help them evolve faster."

Alina gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. Her heart shattered in her chest. "Oh my god... oh my god..."

"There were around seventy missing babies," Gabriel continued, voice low and hollow. "From different races and palaces. For months, no one could trace how they vanished. Until Principal Dante noticed a pattern and investigated personally. He found traces of the Earth Worm tunnels."

He paused, hand gripping the edge of the table.

"That’s why we built these shields—around the school, around every race land," he whispered. "But they’ve returned. And they’re trying again."

Alina felt tears sting her eyes. "How cruel... how could anyone—" Her voice broke. "They’re just children... they’re babies."

She buried her face in her hands.

Gabriel moved beside her and gently patted her head, brushing a few strands of hair behind her ear. "We stopped them today," he said softly. "The shields held. Principal Dante and the others reinforced the outer barriers—they’re gone for now..."

"But those other babies..." Alina choked. "The ones who were already taken..."

Gabriel looked down.

"They were too late for most of them."

That silence stretched in the room like a scream that no one dared to let out.

Alina sat quietly, her tears falling freely now.

She thought of Boo.

Of Kelpie.

Of Sable, crying in her arms.

Of Rocky trembling in stone.

Of Drake begging to go home.

Of Lucian holding on to her like he never wanted to let go.

What if today had gone wrong?

What if even one of them had vanished?

She covered her face, shoulders trembling.

"They’re so small," she whispered. " They don’t deserve this. No one does."

Gabriel said nothing.

Earth worm had always pretended kind to other race and behind everyone back they eaten their baby.

Gabriel looked down at his hands, the corners of his lips pulled into a bitter line.

Earth worm had always pretended to be kind — smiling politely at council meetings, bowing to elders, acting like peace-loving creatures who respected every race. For years, they played their part so well. No one suspected. No one questioned.
