Chapter 773: Chapter 769 "Gentle" Zombie_1

"I... don’t want to!"

The child shrieked, attempting to tug his father away. The giant was tall and burly, and he didn’t seem like someone they could mess with. Although he was a child, it didn’t mean he was stupid. He could see his father seemed to lack confidence in dealing with such a giant.

To him, his father was his Mt. Buzhou, connecting heaven and earth. If the mountain fell, his world would collapse. If something happened to his father, he didn’t know how he would survive.

The patrolling soldiers around them hesitated to act, unsure about how to hold off the incoming giant, even though none of them had fled the scene.

No one can truly face death, even when faith resides in their hearts, they may still tremble in fear when death is before them!

The frequency of the ground shaking increased, but when the giant was a hundred meters away, he suddenly slowed down, his eerie eyes staring at the father and son, filled with a melancholic sentiment.

Fragments of fuzzy memories flashed through his mind, memories of him leaping around a destroyed city.

Back then, a kid was on his neck, and he’d seen this playful father and son long before anyone had discovered him.

The soldiers were puzzled, not knowing why the zombie giant suddenly slowed down. But if they looked closely, they would see that the zombie giant’s eyes were unusually calm, as if he was recalling something. This was unlike any zombies they had encountered before, whose eyes held only slaughter and bloodlust.

Gradually, Ah Fu’s speed slowed down more and more, turning from a run into a walk. He moved step by step towards the father and son. Noticing Ah Fu’s uncommon behavior, the surrounding soldiers did not rashly launch an attack, instead, they gambled!

They betted that Ah Fu wouldn’t harm them!

Time crawled by slowly and everyone held their breath, watching the godly giant come closer and closer to the father and son.

"What’s he up to?"

"This zombie... is something ain’t he!"

The soldiers wore puzzled expressions, although they were still on edge, they felt more relaxed than before.

And the powerful man who was a third-order evolved human, pulled his son closer, keeping his eyes fixed on the approaching giant.

"You..."

He opened his mouth to speak but was left stunned as Ah Fu crouched down in front of him with a profound look in his eyes.

Yet, he never glanced at the big man. His devil-like pairs of eyes remained locked on the child.

After what felt like eternity, Ah Fu slowly raised his hand, startling the man. But in a blink, he realized that his son had somehow disappeared, only to reappear in Ah Fu’s hand.

His face turned pale, wanting to immediately snatch his son away. However, noticing that Ah Fu was only holding his son and showed no signs of other movements, he resisted the urge. He warily watched the giant before him, fearful that the giant might suddenly squeeze his son to death.

"If you hurt him, I’ll do whatever you want," the man cautiously said to Ah Fu, his limbs trembling, reflecting his anxiety.

Ah Fu ignored the man and kept staring at the boy with his truck-sized eyes. His enormous body made the kid’s scalp tingle, petrifying him on the spot.

The longer he gazed at the boy, the more complex his expression grew. Another voice seemed to emerge in his mind, a child’s laughter. The scene of the man playing and frolicking with his son moments ago had given him a fleeting hallucination, as if the child was by his side.

Perched on his neck and cheerfully urging him to run faster, leap higher.

At these thoughts, a silly smile appeared on Ah Fu’s face. But then he suddenly realized the child in his hand was not who he thought he was. Disappointment flooded him once more. But Ah Fu was now wiser. No longer aimlessly longing for flesh and blood.

He put down the boy, handing him back to the man, and walked away, leaving the soldiers in disarray. Just as Ah Fu was oblivious to what Tang Ye had been doing earlier, the Peace Party soldiers were also baffled by Ah Fu’s actions.

A zombie acting this "gentle" was indeed strange.

Back to the events at Shiwuguan Base, Liang Hanyang and Tang Ye each rode a zombie beast, and returned to the base in half an hour.

Initially, Liang Hanyang wasn’t willing to go, but under Tang Ye’s coercion, he had no choice but to come to Shiwuguan Base.

When the two men first appeared at the Anti-Zombie Wall Gate, the soldiers on the gate nearly jumped out of their skin and quickly shut the gate.

But as Tang Ye and Liang Hanyang approached, they recognized one of them as Li Henian, the leader of Shiwuguan Base and the Chairman of the Peace Party!

Upon this realization, the soldiers hastily opened the gates, reverently welcoming Tang Ye into the base.

"That... the beast the leader is riding... It’s a real zombie beast!"

"Damn, what is the chairman up to?"

"..."

As they watched Tang Ye and Liang Hanyang walk away, the soldiers on the wall discussed fervently, most of them oblivious of the fact that an unprecedented, shocking Knight Order was about to be born.

Back at Shiwuguan Base, Tang Ye immediately summoned the Chen brothers, leading them to the two zombie beasts, making the brothers quite startled.

"Boss, what is this..."

"I want to form a Knight Order. Although I’m the Base Commander here, there’s plenty you guys don’t understand. You both saw the high-tech equipment in many bases during our journey-- exoskeleton armors, mobility armors, all sorts of peculiar animal mechs. But we have none of that here. We don’t even have a production line for the Canghe-P90."

"You two are among the few people who know my true identity. I’m a zombie, but also a Zombie King. I have to fully exploit the resources I can use. Since our technology can’t compete with others’, let’s be more primitive. We can use these zombie beasts as mounts for our soldiers, forming the Death Knight Corps!"

"And the two of you, I appoint you as the Commanders of the Knight Order! As you can see, we have an eagle and a wolf. One is a land combat unit, while the other is an air combat unit."

"We are the commanders of the Knight Order?" The Chen brothers were taken aback, but quickly showed interest. Using zombie beasts as mounts was something they, the survivors, wouldn’t even dare to think of.

"Yes, you two were leaders of a biker gang, so you should have some management skills, right?"

"We do, we absolutely do!"
