I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 770 - 766: Infection, Evolution_1

Chapter 770: Chapter 766: Infection, Evolution_1

Ah Fu carried the strange bird’s wings with weak head mouthing, indicating that he had acted according to Tang Ye’s instructions, hunting specifically the descendants of evolved birds. Otherwise, the bird would not have grown so bizarrely.

The bird had a horn-like protrusion on its head, sharp sword-like feathers, and large wings equal to a person’s height when unfolded. The strangest aspect was its leaf-shaped eyes, with a long line extending from their corners to the back of its head.

There were some feathers on Ah Fu’s clothes, and some sticky substance mixed with indistinguishable material. Clearly, he had probably destroyed the bird’s nest to capture it.

The wolf held by Liang Hanyang had nothing strange, except for three spots of white fur on its back. Tang Ye didn’t know if it was a descendant of an evolved creature and was too lazy to bother.

During the process of assimilating the hive, he had already thought of the name for the army he was going to create. Since the knights rode zombies, and zombies were dead creatures, he decided to directly name it the "Dead Knight Corps."

Creating a large number of zombie beasts would be a problem. The hive would come in handy for this.

If it can mass-produce Level 5 and Level 6 zombies, what could compare to the high-tech equipment of the United District?

The Peace Party’s Dead Knight Corps would be the strongest in the world. Each person with a Level 5 zombie beast; wouldn’t that be terrifying?

"Give them to me."

Tang Ye took the bird and wolf from the two zombies, and after a look, nodded with satisfaction. Then, he handed them all back to Liang Hanyang, leaving him bewildered.

"What are you doing?" Liang Hanyang didn’t understand. Why did he take them just to hand them back?

"Infect them both." Tang Ye said indifferently.

"What? Are you teasing me? You just told me not to hurt these beasts. Now you want to infect them. Can’t you do it yourself?"

"What else would I bring you here for? Hurry up." Tang Ye rubbed his nose to hide his embarrassment. He remembered something when Liang Hanyang grumbled. He had quickly pulled Liang Hanyang out of the Gujin base, forgetting to take some evolution crystals with him.

They needed to turn these two beasts into zombies and quickly evolve them. Evolution crystals were vital for this.

"By the way, Ah Fu, go get some evolution crystals from the base nearby. Remember, get a lot."

"Okay, okay..."

Ah Fu nodded stupidly and walked towards the Gujin base. When he returned after twenty to thirty minutes, he was pulling a truck loaded with evolution crystals.

"Good job."

Tang Ye rarely praised Ah Fu. What happened to him, had his mind suddenly cleared? Was it because Li Songhua had slapped him silly?

Ah Fu smiled silly and scratched his head. Tang Ye, on the other hand, waved towards others behind him, and Liang Hanyang drove the two ordinary zombie beasts over.

"Come on, Ah Fu, feed them all in."

"Ok."

Ah Fu agreed, grabbed the neck of the zombie wolf and lifted it, grabbed handfuls of evolution crystals from the truck and stuffed them into its mouth.

Tang Ye wasn’t idling either. He split open the zombie bird’s beak and stuffed evolution crystals inside.

"Chairman, are you planning to feed all these crystals to these two creatures?"

Liang Hanyang’s mouth fell open in shock. Though most of the crystals were Level 1, the quantity was probably enough to evolve these two ordinary zombies to Level 4 or even Level 5!

"Yes! I want to create more zombies and set up my Dead Knight Corps!" There was a flicker of excitement in Tang Ye’s eyes, confident in the Dead Knight Corps he was about to form.

As for training the knight’s zombie beasts, he didn’t need to worry. After he evolved into a Level 7 zombie, his abilities enabled him to plant subconscious behaviors into other zombies as needed.

As copious amount of evolution crystals entered the two zombie beasts’ mouths, their bodies swelled, grew incredibly hot, and their auras surged explosively.

Level 1!

Level 2!

Level 3!

Level 4!

...

They kept evolving!

Meanwhile, both zombie beasts’ bodies grew massively. By the end of their frantic feeding, the two zombies had grown to the size of small hills.

After a long wait, both zombies completely evolved to Level 4!

These two Level 4 zombies were created just like that. Looking at them sleeping on the ground, Tang Ye chuckled. He couldn’t wait for them to awaken, gave orders, and had Ah Fu carry these two Level 4 zombie beasts into the hive.

The hive at this point had become entirely silver, and its interior was dark red. Various blood vessels wriggled on its inner wall, like worms.

Tang Ye led Ah Fu and Liang Hanyang into the hive. Without taking any action, the hive’s interior flesh started wiggling like his own body’s movement, opening up many channels to the huge brain beneath.

Inside Tang Ye’s brain, a flood of terrified information from the hive overwhelmed him.

"What did you do to me? Why... why can you control my body?"

Tang Ye didn’t answer the hive’s question. After evolving to Level 7, he could freely control the bodies of the silver-armored zombies he had infected as easily as his own. Unlike at Level 6, where he could only send simple information to his infected subjects and let them perform simple tasks.

But, after Level 7, he gained an ability similar to Gong Xiao – a spiritual grafting-like power where he could use the body of any infected silver-armored zombies as his own.

It could also be interpreted that, from a certain point of view, every infected silver-armored zombie was himself!

This strange ability gave Tang Ye an odd feeling, with his brain branching out into more neural passages, each with a powerful cognitive ability.

However, this ability only worked on silver-armored zombies infected after he evolved to Level 7. For instance, the current hive and Xu Haishui; he could plant his consciousness in their bodies and control them at will.

But for those infected at Level 6, he could only plant subconscious behaviors in them.

He could prompt them with some innate behavior, but nothing more.

PS: I’m not sure what’s been happening these days, my head is a mess. I had the plot figured out while working, but when I started writing, I couldn’t recall it, then a few days later I suddenly remembered a large, exciting part of it that I hadn’t written down... Truly, the pen is mightier than the mind!
