Chapter 743: Chapter 739 Leaked Information_1
The soldiers in Dormitory 403 flashed their eyes in anger, ready to fight, but they were stopped by Ma Yuankang.
"Let it go. Don’t be impulsive. We can’t beat him," he said.
The soldiers reluctantly retreated, anger still evident in their eyes.
Ma Yuankang looked at the unwelcome guests and asked sternly, "What do you actually want?"
The leader of the group looked around, revealing a playful smile. "It was quiet when that guy left, why were you guys fighting? I didn’t quite catch it earlier, but I heard something about a ’Level 6 zombie’ next door. Go on, what’s going on?"
"A Level 6 what?" Ma Yuankang frowned, feeling a sense of unease.
The guy simply laughed coldly, "You better be honest with me. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. Spit it out. No one’s here right now. As long as you tell me, I promise not to tell anyone. Otherwise, I’ll report you to the Dormitory Leader."
"Go ahead, we don’t know anything." Ma Yuankang’s expression became impassive again.
"Hmph."
The leader snorted and walked with his group towards the door, looking like he was going to talk to the Dormitory Leader. As soon as they stepped outside, they heard Ma Yuankang calling them back, "Wait, come back."
A mysterious smile played at the corner of the leader’s mouth. He led the soldiers back and taunted, "Oh, scared now? Seems like you do have some dirty secrets."
Ma Yuankang was so angry that he wanted to fight, but he felt helpless. His adversaries probably knew something already, and if they reported him and his friends, it wouldn’t end well.
"Come back in. Close the door."
"Alright~"
The leader chuckled and closed the door again. He then plopped down on a bed as if he were at home.
"Tell me, what did that guy tell you guys?"
Ma Yuankang hesitated before finally surrendering, "You have to promise not to tell."
"Relax, I won’t. Hurry up, we have to head back to our dorm soon."
"Fine, I’ll tell you. But if you dare tell anyone else, I swear I’ll drag you down with me before I die!"
"Got it, hurry up!" The leader was impatient, and Ma Yuankang reluctantly conveyed what Zhang Lei had told him earlier to these soldiers from Dormitory 403.
About ten minutes later, the dorm room door opened, and the group from Dormitory 403 stumbled out. Their expressions were much different than before; they dragged themselves back into their own dorm in a daze.
Boom!
The door closed again, and the group sat in silence for quite a while. Suddenly, the leader raised his head and turned to one of the soldiers, "Zheng, weren’t you a pilot before?"
The questioned soldier snapped out of his stupor and nodded back, "Er... yes."
"Can you fly a B-32?"
"I should... be able to."
The soldier hesitated initially and then seemed to realize something. He looked at the dormitory leader in bewilderment, "Um... Leader, you’re not really... "
"Yep," said the Dormitory Leader of 403. His eyes flashed fiercely. "I don’t want to die in this place. No one is sleeping tonight; we make our move at 3 AM. We’re going to hijack a bloody aircraft and get the hell out of here!"
"But... that’s risky. If we get caught, we’re toast!"
"I don’t care! We’re going to die if we stay here anyway. I can’t guarantee I’ll survive if the Qinshan Base falls. You with me?"
"Leader, we’ve always followed you!"
"I don’t want to die in this goddamn place either. Damn it, there’s a Level 6 zombie in the horde, and those bastards upstairs are just using us as cannon fodder!"
"Exactly!"
"So it’s settled. Be alert tonight. We make our move at 3 AM, sooner the better!"
"OK!"
And with that, the soldiers in Dormitory 403 had set their escape plan.
A few hours later, several mobile-armored soldiers from the United District fled from the area. Parts of their armor fell off as they ran, producing a "clanging" noise, and a large group of soldiers from the Qinshan Base and the United District chased after them. They fired lasers from their weapons, a sight that was truly shocking to behold.
The Dormitory Leader of 403 glanced back and his face twisted in anguish.
"You forced me to do this!" he yelled.
He turned on his loudspeaker while sprinting down the street and shouted, "There’s a Level 6 zombie in the horde! Everyone run!"
Seeing their Leader like this, the others quickly followed suit. If they were going down, they were determined to cause some trouble for those who wanted to kill them.
The built-in speakers on their armor amplified their voices several times over, resounding across the quiet night sky. "Everyone needs to leave Qinshan Base now! Don’t be deceived! There’s a Level 6 zombie in the horde! Li Songhua is keeping it from you!"
Their voices echoed through the streets, startling countless people from their sleep. Lights turned on in buildings one after another, and many climbed to their windows to watch the fleeing soldiers from the United District, their expressions strange.
"There’s a Level 6 zombie in the horde? Oh my god!"
The shouts from the fleeing soldiers confused those chasing them, making them wonder if they’d heard wrong. Soon, the entire Qinshan Base was in an uproar. Countless survivors ran out of the buildings onto the streets, engaging in heated discussions. The streets were filled with chaos. Some even began gathering their belongings, prepared to evacuate Qinshan Base.
In the Peace Party’s district, at six o’clock, the sky had just begun to lighten. Tang Ye looked out the window with a furrowed brow.
"What’s going on?"
As he pulled back the curtain to take a look, he saw countless survivors taking their belongings and heading towards the north of the anti-zombie wall. Some of them even shouted, "There’s a Level 6 zombie in the incoming horde! Everyone, run!"
"There’s a Level 6 Zombie in the horde, which is soon going to hit Qinshan Base. There were smaller hordes of zombies outside the wall yesterday too, but the government hid it from us. Li Songhua wants us to act as cannon fodder. Don’t be a fool, pack your things and leave Qinshan Base."
The shouts came from all directions, echoing throughout C Zone, which was under the control of the Peace Party. The crowds were growing, and even the night watch soldiers of the Peace Party didn’t know if they should intervene. In no time, the front of the crowd was blocked by soldiers, their Canghe-P90s guns glowing with the light of laser sights. A beam shot out, piercing straight through a shouting survivor.
"Kill anyone who tries to leave!" A non-commissioned officer said coldly, his cruel face illuminated by the cold light of the Canghe-P90 pointing at the crowd. The crowd hesitated for a moment but then pushed on in a frenzy.
Thud, thud, thud~
