Chapter 703: Chapter 699: How come it’s a Zombie_1

The combination of these factors only piqued Ah Fu’s curiosity even more. He was eager to find out what they intended to do with Li Songhua.

After all, Su Sigui seemed suspicious, she looked far from being an upright character.

Since the trio from the City of Bright Moon had elected to visit this remote location, they didn’t bother to hide in the bushes as usual. Instead, they marked their arrival by confidently striding deeper into the area.

They didn’t wander off for long before halting again. They glanced around, aware of their surroundings in case of any unforeseen threats. One of them stated, almost matter-of-factly, "There’s a window here."

After ensuring the area was secure, they all turned their attention to the window they had found. It was a window on the first floor of a government building. Their actions indicated that they intended to get inside.

The trio approached the window, but they were careful not to expose their bodies to any potential viewers on the other side of the glass.

"The anti-spy coating is too thick. We can’t see inside at all. Let’s make a puncture first and peek in. If there’s no one, we keep it quiet. If there is, we shoot to kill," said one of them.

"Okay." Another agreed. The other two nodded silently.

Then, one of them stepped forward, approaching the window. He gently set his backpack on the ground and unzipped it. From inside, he pulled out a metal tube. It was 30 centimeters long, about the thickness of a thumb, with a sharp tip gleaming with a dark blue sheen.

He turned around to look at the other two who nodded in unison. Taking this as his cue, he pressed his thumb against a yellow switch in the center of the metal tube and then pushed. The tip lit up a crimson point.

Seeing the red light, the man didn’t proceed further. Instead, he pressed the yellow switch again. The red light at the tip extinguished. He pressed once again, and a red light appeared at the tip.

He repeated this process three or four times. Just as Ah Fu was unsure about what they were up to, the man hit the yellow switch again. However, this time, instead of the red light, a small flame rose from the tip of the metal tube.

"Done."

His expression relaxed. He grasped the other end of the metal tube with his other hand and began to twist. Slowly, the flame at the tip started to shrink. It condensed into a red dot. However, that wasn’t the end of it. The red light shrunk smaller and smaller until it transformed into a blue dot the size of a hair strand so tiny that it was almost invisible.

The soldier from Bright Moon City who was holding the metal tube crouched down and touched the blue dot’s tip to the window glass. Within a second, he drew the metal tube away, leaving behind a tiny hole in the glass that was barely noticeable.

He assumed a peculiar posture, careful not to reveal his position to anyone who might be inside. He squatted low and peered through the hole with one eye squinted. After five or six seconds, he signaled "OK" to his two teammates, indicating that there was no one inside.

"Let’s get moving."

"Mmhm."

The man with the metal tube no longer cloaked his movements, confidently striding towards the window. Ah Fu, watching the proceedings, involuntarily stood tall. However, the three soldiers from Bright Moon City were too preoccupied with their task to observe their surroundings.

The man was just about to raise his hand, the tube’s tip pointing towards the glass at the top of the window, preparing to make a slow stroke.

The tube’s tip acted as the nib of a pen, tracing a square on the glass. The other two soldiers took up their positions one on either side of the tube-holder. Once he had completed the square, they both raised their hands and, as the metal tube was lifted off the glass, a large, perfect square of glass fell forward, which they caught deftly.

All of this took place in absolute silence.

"Okay, let’s go in."

As soon as the window pane was removed, the soldiers were about to enter but were stopped by their colleague just in time.

"Hang on."

"What is it?"

"Strange. Why is there still perfume smell?" One soldier said quizzically, his nose twitching as he turned his head in the direction the scent was coming from.

Sensing a looming threat, Ah Fu quickly lowered his head. But it was a fraction too late, and one of the Bright Moon City soldiers caught a glimpse of him.

"There’s someone here!"

Just as the words left his lips, the other two soldiers whipped out their laser weapons, firing furiously into the bushes where Ah Fu was hiding!

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Bright laser trails flashed past, hitting Ah Fu before he could react. The outer human skin shell was immediately scorched, revealing the decaying flesh beneath. Ah Fu was just donning a skin suit resembling a human, underneath he was all zombie!

The three soldiers from Bright Moon City had undergone Su Sigui’s systematic training, which was the most effective apocalypse survival training method developed over a decade. Their reaction time was unbelievably fast, leaving Ah Fu taken by surprise!

"This guy has been following us. We can’t let him go!"

One laser after another were launched at him with tremendous force. Though Jun Lang’s outer human skin was easily punctured and scorched away to reveal countless holes, the power and penetration force of the lasers were not to be underestimated. After piercing through the skin suit, the violent impact of the lasers made several craters on Ah Fu’s actual body.

As the three soldiers continued firing and advancing forward, one of them discarded his original weapon. He pulled out a laser weapon bearing several numbers from his backpack and blasted in Ah Fu’s direction!

Ah Fu is a zombie, a combination of rage, bloodlust, brutality, and savagery. They didn’t possess the patience of a human, let alone the ability for restraint. The moment he was attacked, Ah Fu was consumed by rage. His heart filled with anger, he jerked up and stood abruptly. However, as he was rising, the attack from a laser weapon that bore a high number came hurtling towards him.

Boom!

The crimson laser struck his shoulder. Even with his Level 6 power zombie’s bulk, he couldn’t absorb all of the impact.

Thump, thump, thump,

Ah Fu staggered back a few steps, glancing at his shoulder. A portion of it sank in. This laser gun was far stronger than the ones the other two Bright Moon City soldiers had. At this point, the skin suit he was wearing was ruined beyond recognition. Only the headpiece was left intact, in all probability, his zombified body had been revealed.

Now that his cover was blown, Ah Fu had no reason to maintain his guise any longer. He swelled and returned to his usual towering height of three meters. Instead of looking like a human, he resembled the ravenous, man-devouring zombie he actually was. His black eyes glared angrily at the three soldiers, and he let out a thunderous roar!

Roar!

His roar forced the remaining patch of skin on his head to fly off. As his roar echoed, the three soldiers jumped in surprise. They hadn’t paid him much attention earlier. However, now that his roar was unmistakable, they recognized it as the rage-filled howl of a zombie!

Upon taking a closer look at Ah Fu, they saw a three-meter tall zombie with grotesquely exaggerated musculature standing right before them!

"Why is it a zombie?"
