I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 689 - 686: The Walking Continent 2_1
Chapter 689: Chapter 686: The Walking Continent 2_1
Tang Ye and the zombies glance back to see eight sturdy pincers, so robust they defy description, shooting straight into the sky. The joints, producing a "crack crack crack" sound, twist with acute tension. At the same time, eight identical pincers appear in the opposite direction, their enormous shadows engulfing Tang Ye and the others completely!
Boom!
With a loud bang, a red light shoots towards the sky. After the sixteen pincers bend to a certain extent, they plummet downwards, smashing the streets of Liang City into radiant sparks. Whether it’s the sparks caused by the massive, thick pincers hitting the ground or the destruction of some electrified equipment in the city is unclear.
Simultaneously, the Mother Nest’s body convulses again. Tang Ye can feel it—the moment the sixteen pincers of the Mother Nest hit the ground, its colossal body once again lifts off, like a monstrous beast from the primeval world!
It’s actually standing up!
Roar!
A furious roar shoots straight into the sky, barrages of white clouds in the far distance seemingly jolted by the sound waves it generates, swaying a few times.
"I am...suffering!!"
The information transmitted by it is full of chaos, flourishing in Tang Ye’s mind, causing his bloodshot eyes to turn even more crimson!
"Shut the hell up!"
Tang Ye roars back, his formidable spirit forces itself into the Mother Nest’s consciousness, forcing it to calm down. However, this inversely provokes a frenzy within the Mother Nest. With no way of knowing the origin of these sounds, the chaos in the information it sends escalates, thrumming back and forth in Tang Ye’s mind.
He extends his arms; a swirling black fog steadily gathers around his entire body. Just as Ah Fu is about to ask if Tang Ye is okay, he sees the black fog thickening, gradually enveloping Tang Ye and rapidly expanding!
Five meters!
Ten meters!
Twenty meters!
Twenty-five meters!
Tang Ye transforms into a towering twenty-five-meter-tall giant, vital anti-life matter rapidly mutating on his body, splitting, and patching up the void of power caused by his explosive growth.
"Get the hell down!"
With a loud growl, Tang Ye steadies his center of gravity and aggressively pushes down, using his imposing strength to press down the standing body of the Mother Nest!
However, the Mother Nest merely trembles for a moment. Its body is too massive; even the Level 6 Water Guanyin would merely resemble a mouse in front of it. The colossal body provides the Mother Nest with extreme stability! Tang Ye struggles to shake it, despite his increased size and strength!
Roar!
The enraged roar of the Mother Nest fills the city. Even the people dozens of kilometers away at the Gujin Base can hear it. They throw on their clothes and rush out to gaze at the night sky in bewilderment.
"What’s going on?"
"Has some evolved zombie arrived?"
"So terrifying!"
"Whose voice is that?"
"Peace Party combat Third Group, assemble and follow me to go have a look over there."
"Yes."
With the Peace Party soldiers from the Gujin Base quickly assembling and surging out of the base to investigate the situation, the people’s hearts ease somewhat. The sound just now was too frightening; the mere thought of it would make it difficult for anyone to sleep peacefully. Should a major monster head this way toward the base, they would be doomed!
In the post-apocalyptic world, people are extremely sensitive to zombies. Anything related to zombies can quickly put them on high alert.
Over by Tang Ye’s side, after the Mother Nest finishes its roar, its multiple pincers astonishingly start to move, heading toward the distant mountains obscured by the dark sky. Tang Ye is momentarily stunned.
"F*ck! It’s really leaving!" Noticing it blundering directly toward the Gujin Base, Tang Ye hastily starts controlling the Mother Nest to deflect off course.
However, Tang Ye struggles to control the Mother Nest. He isn’t quite sure what’s going on with this type of zombie, but it appears that there is some form of repulsion between its type and his own, causing a loss of control. His psychic tendrils that burrows into the opponent’s brain to attempt a forced takeover faces a fierce resistance.
After all, not every zombie can be controlled by Tang Ye.
Regardless, the movement of such a huge creature was indeed terrifying. The survivors at the Gujin Base, in adapting to the darkness, could see a massive shadow in the distance. Although not clearly visible under the faint moonlight and starlight, it was still vivid and unmistakable!
"My God!"
The sight leaves the surviving residents and the Chairman of the Peace Party, who had just stepped out of the base to investigate the situation, dumbfounded on the spot, muttering to themselves and feeling their scalps tingle. However, the saving grace is that the trajectory of the monster seems to be veering more and more off course.
What they don’t know is that Tang Ye has been doing his best to control the Mother Nest and prevent it from heading toward the base. As they watch the giant creature—which appeared as if it had emerged from a Cthulhu Mythos tale—coming closer and closer, an intense fear begins to take root in their hearts, almost suffocating them!
"You’ve got to be kidding! Is that really a zombie?" With their teeth chattering, people pray for the Mother Nest to drift farther and farther away, ideally forever out of sight of this base, or else they won’t know how to deal with it.
They can’t even begin to imagine how terrified they’d be if this thing actually came over, nor can they believe that the apocalypse could produce such a terrifying creature!
As the Mother Nest moves, the ground trembles. Its might is many times more enormous than when the Level 6 Water Guanyin came ashore. Wherever it goes, destruction follows, toppling buildings, abandoned factories, amusement parks—crashing down in large swathes.
Tang Ye stands on the Mother Nest’s back, unsure where its head is or how it sees its surroundings. Yet as it strides forward, one side seems to always face forward. Tang Ye moves toward that side. With a crack of his whip, his hands each seize several thrashing tentacles, wrapping them together to serve as his reins, like the god below controlling his steed. But he’s not guiding the steed forward—he’s exerting all his strength to make the Mother Nest stop!
This steed is extremely unruly!
The moving land mass is not very fast, but its massive body and increased wind resistance make its movements ponderously slow. However, in no time at all, it’s covered several miles, and has also veered farther and farther from the Gujin Base. Tang Ye breathes a sigh of relief, as do the survivors and key members of the Peace Party at the base.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
It lifts its sixteen pincers one after the other, then lets them fall again, alternating in a way that resembles a millipede. It’s also like a behemoth lumbering through the darkness—oppressive and instilling panic.
To prevent the Mother Nest from causing unnecessary trouble and to see that it has already begun to move towards the uninhabited forest, Tang Ye is content to guide it in that direction.
However, as time passes, he realizes the Mother Nest’s cognitive waves are slowly becoming more stable. It doesn’t seem as violently chaotic as before as if the Mother Nest has begun to accept his control.
This is a good sign, and Tang Ye feels a spark of joy in his heart.
"So painful..."
