Chapter 688: Chapter 685: The Walking Continent 1_1
Tang Ye’s eyes lit up. Though unclear about the sudden blankness in his mind, it presumably was due to the unusual psychic entity of the Hive. When Tang Ye attempted to control it via mental connection, the Hive almost instantly retaliated furiously!
"This can’t happen!"
The voice of the Hive delivering the message became hoarse. Subsequently, the space that Tang Ye and the others occupied started quaking like it was experiencing an earthquake. Flesh around them started to wildly squirm. Tentacles burst forth, thrashing all around!
"Damn it, the Hive has gone nuts!"
"Boss, is it serious?"
"Don’t worry about me, watch yourselves!"
Tang Ye dodged the whipping tentacles around him before leaping several meters away. Two dark purple tentacles sprouted from his back, which immediately turned silver and pierced into the top-end, suspending Tang Ye in mid-air.
"You... Let... Me... Go! It hurts so much! Huh, huh~"
The Hive’s transmissions became muddled, making Tang Ye frown.
"Boss, look!"
Below, Ah Fu bellowed as his body grew into a thirty-meter giant. He severed the surrounding tentacles and freed himself. Tang Ye glanced at him, his frown deepening. The flesh where the Hive’s brain was situated began to convulse wildly, producing more tentacles that lashed out at Tang Ye and his companions, the loud whooshing sound was deafening!
"No... It hurts... It’s so painful... &%#, let go!"
The Hive’s psychic transmissions became more and more scattered. Gradually, Tang Ye found it increasingly difficult to decipher its messages. The Hive seemed to be growing more frantic, perhaps its brain felt like it must restrict other zombies from attempting psychic control, otherwise, it would trigger immense consequences.
"Rise!"
While trying to calm it down, Tang Ye also dodged the swinging tentacles. Although he hadn’t been hit yet, judging from the noise of the swinging tentacles, the force was definitely not low!
Seeing that its tentacles couldn’t hit Tang Ye, the Hive simply coiled flesh from all directions around him. With a sharp shout, Tang Ye slipped to another spot like a butterfly piercing through the flowers.
But the Hive was not ready to give up. Despite the excruciating pain, it controlled its bodily flesh and shrank inwards, centering around its brain’s glowing body, in an attempt to squeeze and crush all the zombies inside!
Ah Fu trembled and raised his hands, standing tall like Pangu splitting the heavens and the earth, preventing the Hive’s flesh from compressing him like a rushing waterfall!
Meanwhile, a blade made of flesh materialized in Tang Ye’s hand. He cleaved through the descending flesh, making room for himself, then he amplified all his psychic cords, trying to make the Hive stop its attack!
But the moment he tried to do this, the Hive became even more frenzied. Its flesh moved even more rapidly. Tang Ye felt like everything around him was lifting, including Ah Fu, who shouted, "What’s going on?"
Before he finished speaking, layers of flesh above fluctuated endlessly, and the void exposed the stars in the sky. The Hive’s flesh swirled like sea waves, revealing long and pointy fangs that were more than ten meters long. Tang Ye saw the zombies being produced by the Hive climbing upward while roaring.
Seeing this scene, Tang Ye quickly ordered, "Get out first!"
"Yes!"
Liang Hanyang reacted swiftly. A sturdy arm grew from his back and the sharp claws easily caught a pile of Hive’s flesh. Then both of his hands supported his body, climbing rapidly!
Bang... Bang...
Thunderous bangs that felt like they could burst eardrums kept sounding off. They seemed to be the noise of giant objects hitting the ground, but Tang Ye and the others didn’t think much about it. With a ghost-like agility, one of them flew up while another, like a giant savage deity, climbed upward with the colossal pillars in his hands.
"Is it... moving?"
After a while, Liang Hanyang, as if noticing something unusual, said with a stunned face. But he didn’t seem sure.
"Just get up first!" Tang Ye urged. While he was already near the exit, he quickly extended two tentacles and latched onto the two men who were still far away
"Ah Fu, shrink down!"
Upon hearing this, Ah Fu instinctively reduced his size, morphing into a three-meter tall man. With a forceful yank from Tang Ye, they both were pulled up.
"This Hive is mad! I thought we’d be eaten by it." Liang Hanyang patted his chest, heaving a sigh of relief. However, as he looked around, he was left aghast.
At the moment, Tang Ye and the others were standing on top of the Hive’s body that was exposed on the ground, but the situation had changed. The place where the Hive resided had now turned into an apocalypse!
The tentacles it had wrapped around the buildings in Liang City were being withdrawn. Due to the Hive’s enormous power, these tentacles spun around in the air as they retracted, making a loud popping sound and emitting white smoke.
Some of the tentacles were wrapped so tightly around the waist of the buildings that when they were retracted, thunderous bangs echoed as the buildings were cut in half. The falling buildings made a series of dull sounds.
Moreover, the Hive, where Tang Ye and the others were standing, was still rising. The sound of gurgling and roaring zombies echoed from beneath, followed by the shattering sound of cement pillars and tiles, and the creaking noise of twisted steel bars from inside.
"What the hell is the Hive doing?" Liang Hanyang stared, dumbfounded. Tang Ye also felt goosebumps. He had a bad premonition. He urgently retracted the psychic strings, but everything was already too late. The Hive did not stop. Instead, it became increasingly violent.
"Damn it! Provoking me!"
With nothing to lose, Tang Ye extended his psychic strings again, attempting to reach the Hive’s brain located beneath it!
The massive body of the Hive trembled violently. Its consciousness was still lingering in Tang Ye’s mind, constantly transmitting "pain" to him!
Its body was still rising. Soon, Tang Ye looked ahead to see a hundred-meter tall building in Liang City that had only been reduced to a pillar.
"What on earth is happening to the Hive? Is all this commotion necessary just because I tested it a little?"
As the body of the Hive rose, the buildings in Liang City that were wrapped in its flesh either broke off from the root or were carried by the rising Hive. They initially were rooted in the ground but became as if they were built into the Hive’s body.
From a distance, the Hive looked like a continent!
Bang!
Another muffled sound echoed. At that moment, Tang Ye and the others only felt the light around them darken. It was as if some massive object had suddenly appeared behind them.
