Alexander Foster has arrived.

He is dressing more formal tonight, as if attending some official event.

"He is here."

The man smiles at her tenderly, "Have you been waiting long?"

"Not too long. But, is there a mistake with the address? The author hasn’t shown up and no one else is here."

Alexander Foster hands her flowers.

"Nothing’s wrong."

He walks ahead.

With a cluster of blazing red roses in embrace, Chloe Collins is somewhat lost, "Why did you buy roses?"

"They’re beautiful."

She lowers her gaze to the flowers and, disregarding what’s in front of her, she walks straightforward until she bumps into the edge of a table.

Looking up, she sees Alexander Foster sitting down at the table.

His smile is different than his usual, it’s more... "formal".

Just like the smiles worn by stars walking on the red carpet.

"Why are you sitting there?"

There’s a nameplate in front of the table with Leo Coleman written on it.

Alexander Foster is silent, his ink-black eyes staring calmly at her. In her watchful gaze, he opens a fountain pen from the side.

He reaches out to her, "The autograph session officially begins."

After a few seconds, the signature is finished and Alexander Foster hands the book back to her.

She looks at the roses, then gives them to him too.

"Here, these are yours."

"Thank you." He smiles.

He’s probably the first one who bought flowers for himself.

Chloe Collins, feeling awkward, looks at the empty space behind her, "Why am I the only one here?"

"This book signing event was arranged only for you. These, all of these, are for you."

Chloe Collins nods.

She turns back around, suddenly unsure what to say.

The two of them lock eyes in silence. Then, all at once, they burst into laughter.

Gradually, Chloe Collins relaxes and accepts this fact.

"Why did you start writing?"

Alexander Foster raises an eyebrow. "Is this the Q&A section?"

"Sort of."

He looks back on it for a moment before answering, "I couldn’t find any books I liked, so I wrote one."

"Is this the final version?" She holds up the book, a sparkle in her eyes.

"No. The story framework is too large, I couldn’t finish it at once."

"When do you usually write?"

"Whenever I have time."

She asks again, "Who’s the female protagonist?"

"There isn’t one." He answers patiently, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

There has been a lot of discussion in the comments about who the female protagonist is, but nothing is confirmed.

"That’s not true, didn’t a romantic storyline appear in the updates over the past few months? Isn’t she the female protagonist?"

"The original outline does not have a female lead, and the romantic storyline is not the core content. So there’s no female lead."
