Chapter 1027

"Hello, are you Miss Collins?"

A woman in a red formal outfit approached, her face beautifully made up, a badge hung on her chest. She extended her hand with a smile, "The autograph session of author Leo Coleman is over here, please, follow me."

She gave a slight nod and followed her onwards.

Two women walked into the doorway and jogged over, staring at Chloe Collins’ retreating figure.

"Oh my, isn’t that Chloe Collins? She indeed didn’t go back to the Taylors." The speaker was Aria Taylor, the granddaughter of the Taylors.

Raine Nolan didn’t speak, quite surprised to find Chloe Collins here. After the incident at home earlier in the evening that infuriated Trent Collins, she found the tension unbearable. Luckily, Aria had invited her to the library for an exhibition, so she decided to go.

"I can’t believe she’s here."

"Cousin, you might not know. She stole the family register from the house, and now Dad is searching for her everywhere. Should we notify him?"

Aria Taylor hesitated, "Stole the family register? What’s there to steal? Is she getting married?"

Raine Nolan hadn’t considered this possibility. She thought that Chloe wanted to move out, but now hearing Aria’s inference, it seemed plausible.

After all, there were many people who get married right after finishing high school. Chloe managed to reach the Fosters; naturally, she wanted to quickly grasp the good fortune her mother had arranged.

"We’ll find out if we go and see."

Her heart pounding, she continued after them.

She sent a message to Sophia Spence on the way, anticipating some drama.

[Sophia, hurry to the city library. Chloe Collins might be marrying Alexander Foster.]

[Sophia Spence: I am busy. I won’t be coming.]

This response was unexpected, and before she could react, another message from her came in--

[Sophia Spence: Please don’t tell me about them anymore. I have other pursuits.]

Raine Nolan was speechless. When had she given up?

Along the winding corridor, the woman pushed open a large door and told Chloe Collins, "Miss Collins, please come in."

She walked in slowly, unconsciously observing everything. The scene was nothing like the bustling atmosphere of a typical autograph session; there wasn’t even a signing station.

"Miss Collins, please make yourself comfortable. The author will be here soon."

After the woman finished speaking, she left.

Chloe moved past the screen and was attracted by everything in front of her.

All around were merchandise related to "Fifty-Nine Minutes". A life-sized cutout stood beside her, piles of exquisite little dolls, comic books and published books were displayed together, with the published books taking the center stage.

The dark green pure leather cover, the majestic font, without many embellishments, but to her, it was devastatingly attractive.

She had to stay up all night to finish it.

But, how come there was not a single person in this exhibition hall?

Although Leo Coleman’s popularity wasn’t too high, it couldn’t be this low. The only possibility was that it hadn’t been advertised enough, or perhaps, everyone had gone to greet the revered author?

She took out her phone and called Alex.

"I’m at the library, where are you?"

"Stuck in traffic, will be there soon."

"Can you buy a bouquet of flowers on your way? I want to present it to the author."

The man was silent for a moment before responding, "Alright."

Fifteen minutes later, she was engrossed in the storyline of the first volume when noise came from outside the door.

She put down the book and turned around.

The door opened, and a bouquet of roses symbolizing love came into view. Then, a familiar scent enveloped her.
