Chapter 1026

Alexander Foster’s voice came through.

Listening to his voice, Chloe Collins’ mouth curved into a smile.

"Remember what I told you before? The author of ’Fifty-Nine Minutes’ has published another book. The signing is at eight, you coming?"

Chloe lifted her eyes, sitting up.

"Really?"

"Yeah, it’s true."

"What you wanted to tell me is this?"

The man chuckled, "Yes."

A sense of relief washed over her as she asked, "Where? I’ll come over in a bit."

"City Library."

"I’ll be there in a while."

Layla Lowell turned her head, "You’re leaving?"

"Yeah, I’m going to a signing."

"A signing? They still have signings at this hour?" Layla held her booze, looking bewildered.

Wanda Wesley, with eyes barely open, asked, "Whose signing is it? I’ll come and show support too."

"Leo Coleman."

"Leo Coleman?" Layla sat up, her face lit up in astonishment, "The scriptwriter of the comic books in your drawer? He published a book?"

Wanda, who doesn’t pay much attention to comic books, asked in confusion, "Is this person famous?"

"He is! But he’s not the illustrator, he’s just responsible for story creation and providing scripts."

"’Fifty-Nine Minutes’ is insanely popular and is currently being prepared for film and television production. Fans span from all over the country and even overseas, and anyone who likes comic books likes reading it! It’s odd that the main artist of this comic isn’t famous, but the scriptwriter is."

Turning to Chloe, she asked with a smile, "Am I right?"

Chloe nodded.

Both of them got up, "We’ll go with you, we’re also curious about the real face of Leo Coleman."

Wanda stood up listlessly, looking indifferent, but uttered, "Might as well do some generous tipping, I feel like splurging tonight."

Seeing the two of them staggering around, Chloe called Heijii to take care of them and temporarily send them back to her place.

Just as she finished the phone call, she turned back to see both of them leaning against each other, already fallen asleep on the couch.

Shaking her head, Chloe grabbed her backpack and headed out.

She went straight to the door of a private room with ’No Idlers Allowed’ written on it, using her foot kicking at the bottom of the door to nudge it open.

Inside, Charles Carrington was engrossed in a VR game.

The sound of the opening door caught his attention, he took off his gear, turning his head over, "Leaving already?"

"Can I borrow your bike for a bit?"

"Bike? Not lending." Charles turned back, aiming his fist at the big screen, practicing some kind of move. Then he added, "You can take the car though, besides, there are three of you, riding bikes is too dangerous."

"It’s just me."

Charles was silent.

Soon, he opened a drawer and tossed her the keys, "Drive carefully, they’re my treasures."

She raised an eyebrow, about to leave.

Charles moved his lips, watching her walk away, the words he wanted to say were left unspoken.

"Nevermind, why bother with someone else’s business."

Muttering to himself, he returned to his game.

After playing a bit more, he left, feeling bored, and walked into Chloe’s private room.

There were two girls sleeping inside.

The vibration of a phone lasted quite a while before he went over.

He took a glance, recognizing the familiar name: Robert Foster.

-

City Library.

The situation wasn’t as Chloe expected, there were no bustling crowds, it didn’t look like a book signing was happening.

Normally, book signings were hosted in the library’s largest exhibition hall, but now the entire building was lit up, yet there were very few people.
