Chapter 1005
Like a wounded bird, she curled up in her little nest, silently nursing her wounds.
Wanda Wesley wanted to comfort her, but suddenly felt redundant.
Chloe Collins was not the type who needed comforting, she had her own way of healing.
Intervention from others would make her uncomfortable.
With this in mind, she dared not to make a move.
Perhaps she could understand Chloe’s pain.
Unintentionally, she had looked at Chloe’s medical data from the lab.
Now Chloe was not only facing a heart issue but was also someone who could not bare children anymore.
Though she was also treated like an experiment, the damage she suffered was less severe.
Unlike Chloe’s severe conditions, her life wasn’t gravely threatened.
Because the medicine she took had been refined already, unlike Chloe’s that was still in its first generation.
Looking at Chloe’s once vibrant figure, she couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with emotion.
If it was her, she wouldn’t have the courage to face it all.
-
Four days later, Chloe Collins defeated Morris with full scores and successfully won the championship!
While everyone was preparing to return back home, she went to the door of the hotel. She didn’t do anything, just staring into the distance.
Footsteps got closer, and Morris came beside her: "Are you waiting for him? Don’t wait anymore; he can’t come back today!"
"Let’s go; I’ll take you to him."
Chloe looked up, staring at him.
Morris was feeling guilty under her gaze, and laughed: "I’m not lying to you, let’s go indeed! I know a way to get us there!"
"As I told you before, now is a tense time. He is so good at fighting; my father told me they won’t let him come back so easily. Even if he drove, it would take him a day to arrive! Let alone they won’t provide him a car."
Chloe narrowed her eyes: "Didn’t you guys agree on one week only?"
Morris scratched his head: "Yes, that’s true, but he’s too excellent. They want to promote him, I suspect they won’t let him go easily."
Chloe shifted her gaze, speaking coldly: "We’re from Grearon. You must be aware of the severe consequences if his identity is exposed."
Morris said: "He’s wearing our clothes, speaks our language, who would know? Come on, I’ll take you to see him, he’ll be back in half a month at the latest."
Chloe shifted backward, with her legs slightly bent, spoke tranquilly: "No need to, he has already returned."
"How is that possible!" Morris laughed.
"I just heard yesterday that he performed well in the afternoon, the team didn’t give him a car, there were no planes either, how could he be back? Did he walk?"
Just as he opened his hands, his attention was caught by the clear, swift sound of horse hooves in the distance.
"Is that... a horse?"
In the dark night, a horse sprinted from the darkness. The man on it was draped with an air of chilling desolation, his clothes still stained with ashes of war.
Morris was stunned, pointing at the man who descended from the horse: "He... he..."
Just as he was speaching, Chloe walked past him.
She stood in front of the man, studying him in detail. She noticed the desperation and amusement in his eyes, and some dust on his face.
She smiled, and punched him lightly in the chest, friendly as brothers would do.
The man smiled and lowered his head to embrace her, his slightly rapid breathing hit her neck back and forth.
"I’m back."
"I came first."
He laughed, his hand full of tiny scratches gently caressed her hair, saying: "That’s wonderful."
