Chapter 38: Resemblance Replacement.

"So how’s your marriage?" Jocelyn spoke up taking Arissa’s eyes off the door she have been staring at for a while now.

"It’s okay. No standing orders," she replied finally taking her eyes off the door as she assured herself that no one was after her.

"We rarely communicate but I can’t say the same about his mother," She continued and walked to the couch and sat beside Jocelyn.

"It’s wired you got married to a one-night stand,"

Arissa smiled and sat sideway facing Jocelyn, using her fingers to comb Jocelyn’s hair, she replied, "It doesn’t change anything,"

Jocelyn tilted her head and rested on Arissa’s shoulder.

Arissa gave out a small smile, "I caught a glimpse of your commercial on your fan page. And luckily for me, the company you would model for is in this country and_"

"That wasn’t me," Jocelyn said with a sigh cutting Arissa off.

"Huh?"

"I don’t know her, but I know her name, which most people don’t know because my agency is using her as my resemblance replacement,"

"Why did you let that?" Arissa hissed out as she sat up forcing Jocelyn to also seat up, "Have you spoken with your manager?"

"Yes, I have. She said it was just a result of my absence," Jocelyn said calmly with a lazy shrug of her shoulder before slumping back into the couch.

"And you let them do that? How could you?" Arissa asked with disappointment in her expression.

This would be a really big step up for Jocelyn’s whole career if her commercial shoot is perfect knowing Jocelyn, Arissa was sure that she do not need any miracle to be a top model for Gray Entertainment and, even if the so-called resemblance would use her name, how was she sure that she would be up to Jocelyn standard and not drag her name down?

"I never said I’m letting her model under my name. And one to think of it, she wasn’t born with that face so I would just wait till they cross over here with the team for the commercial," she explained lazily, "I already have everything laid out," she added as she put some locks of her hair behind her ear.

Arissa breathed out calmly as she relaxed into the couch, "I’m glad I don’t have to knock some senses into your head,"

"C’mom girl. You taught me well," Jocelyn assured as she laughed off Arissa’s previous close lash-out, "My influence is even more than hers, and if she is the loving type, I don’t mind skyrocketing her to the top,"

Arissa chuckled as her eyes fell on Adele, "Her name?"

"Freya Cosper,"

"When I saw her blue eyes, I thought it was you who just added lenses to your eyes," this isn’t a usual feeling but the moment she has the feeling that someone is up to no good, it always ends up that way and that is the reason she is still giving little moments to Mrs. Wyatt because the feeling isn’t there yet but this Freya or whoever, the feeling she would be up to no good is already all round her head even without meeting physically.

"So, what would you do now since you are restricted?" Jocelyn questioned.

"I would just wait for Adele to be up before making my moves," she replied and this earned a brow lift from Jocelyn.

"So, when do I get to punch some asses?" Jocelyn asked as she cracked her knuckles in anticipation.

"Soonest than you except," Arissa said laughing at Jocelyn’s eager reaction. She later sat up and crossed her arms around her midsection looking at Adele on the bed with an unknown emotion.

...

"...Arissa,"

"Mrs. Wyatt," Arissa jolted out of her thoughts as she turned over to the sound of the voice.

"Why are you still awake dear?" Mrs. Wyatt asked as she walked toward Arissa.

Arissa dropped her defensive self after noticing the care in Mrs. Wyatt’s voice. She looked at Mrs. Wyatt - even at such an old age, she still looks this good with her chestnut hair and black eyes.

’What are you doing Arissa?’ Arissa questioned herself realizing that her thought is now everywhere down to Mrs. Wyatt’s appearance out of no cost.

Her mental health is at stake right now if she continues this habit of not taking the case of her parents off her mind.

Yes, she wants to bring out every piece of evidence possible to make them rot in prison but to be frank, she wants to step back a little and at least, let someone fight for her. She is slowly going crazy and she can feel it. Her parent’s deeds are bottomless.

"I was just looking at the piano Mrs. Wyatt," she answered Mrs. Wyatt’s previous question, tieing the belt of her night robe, "I came to get some milk for Blu." she clarified seeing that Mrs. Wyatt wasn’t buying her earlier reply.

Mrs. Wyatt looked over to the gallon of Milk in Arissa’s hand and back at Arissa’s face, "Is something bothering you?" She asked Arissa as she took a step closer to her.

Arissa smiled tightly, "Am fine Mrs. Wyatt. I was just... never mind,"

Immediately, Mrs. Wyatt placed her hand on Arissa’s shoulder, "You can talk to me Arissa," she encouraged Arissa to say something. Anything that is bothering her.

Arissa turned to Mrs. Wyatt’s hand on her shoulder and placed hers on Mrs. Wyatt’s hand before squeezing it a little as if taking comfort from her. Her mother has never made her feel this protected but the woman before her effortlessly does it.

"It’s nothing, Mrs. Wyatt," Arissa affirmed and with her most genuine but sad smile, she freed Mrs. Wyatt’s hand.

"Would you like a vacation away with me?" Mrs. Wyatt asked taking her hand slowly off Arissa’s tall shoulder.

Arissa brought her hand to her forehead and gave it a nervous scratch, and, Mrs. Wyatt got a glimpse of her very cute inner self but at the same time, she felt her uneasiness.

"Thank you, Mrs. Wyatt, but I do not have such pleasure time," Arissa declined. Not until her parents are tied down and Adele is okay, she isn’t free yet.

Mrs. Wyatt gave her a small smile, "I’m leaving tomorrow, but I would be here anytime you need me,"

Arissa nodded her head to Mrs. Wyatt’s words before excusing herself as she walked away from her spot and back to her room.
