His Toxic Addiction
Chapter 296: My Angelic Devil.

Chapter 296: My Angelic Devil.

Nicklaus kissed her deeply.

He made sure to feel the curves of her body as he kissed her. If the lady before him should be an imposter, the kiss would tell and that’s because he knows the taste of his wife’s mouth and her body curves.

No one can trick him with that as he has got by heart all of that she feels like and how his heart thumps each time he kisses her the way he is doing now.

He felt her slender curves and they all amount to that of his wife. Even the taste of her mouth belongs to his wife. In one word, his wife sat before him.

However, it still puzzled him that she questioned him in such a manner as if she had always wanted to be more than a contracted wife.

Arissa kissed him back. After a few seconds, she pulled away from the kiss and searched his eyes.

Disappointment flashed through her eyes and she asked, "Was the kiss to refuse an answer to my question?"

She was disappointed but after a short while, she calmed down. It wasn’t his fault. She had pushed him away several times than she could imagine and it would only be fair if he silently hurt her this way by his means.

"No," Nicklaus replied, holding her closer to himself, "That kiss was to assure you that no matter what, you are my wife and I love who you are. The contract doesn’t change anything." he fessed up a little.

Arissa felt butterflies in her stomach. His words made her giggly and she began to feel like a teenager in love. She blinked rapidly and bit her lower lip to stop herself from smiling widely.

It baffles her that she could feel this way. Her ears reddened down to her toenails and looking at him became highly impossible.

Nicklaus pulled her closer until she sat on his legs. He hugged her softly and placed his chin on her shoulder.

Arissa blinked when he did that. She was beginning to get confused. "Would you ever go against the higher-ups?" her voice came out lower than a whisper.

She hated those humans for putting her in a fate such as this. How could she love and be unable to let her feelings out?

Nicklaus dropped a tender kiss on her shoulder, "I would if I had to, and nothing would make me step back. It’s either they crumble or I do. Why do you ask?"

Arissa hugged his neck, "That’s brave," she complimented him. His reply gave her little hope that if she could make them work, he would fight for them and if he did not, it would be fine. At least she tried and they were simply not meant to be together.

Whichever way, she would have to wait for their future to unfold, and at the same time, that doesn’t mean she would let the future hurt any one of them.

Changing the conversation entirely, she brought up the issue with her father, "How is my father?" Her voice carried care but it wasn’t enough to overshadow the support her voice passed to her husband.

Nicklaus who had been looking for a way to tell her everything that had transpired smiled and buried his face more into her shoulder.

Each time she does this, she makes him feel more connected to her and there is no greater feeling in the world than the feeling of being connected to the woman he was starting to love.

Although she apologized last night, Alfred was still family to her so he decided to start with an apology. "I’m sorry we did not talk about this first,"

Arissa raised her brow at him and took her hands off his neck. She pushed him from his shoulder and leaned away so that she could see his face.

Her voice came out soft but curious, "Did you do something to him?"

Nicklaus did not give her an immediate reply. He was determined not to hurt or annoy her to ruin this peaceful moment they shared.

"You_"

"I sent him to jail. The news would air in the morning," Nicklaus cut her off, and Arissa froze.

Her lips parted in disbelief and slowly, she climbed off Nicklaus’s body and sat on the bed, staring at her sheets, her eyes filled with emotions her husband could not comprehend.

Nicklaus felt a void when she climbed off from him and then, he faced her. His brows lifted suspiciously.

Arissa’s breathing picked up fast when she heard what Nicklaus said, her chest rose and fell as she tried to regulate her breathing.

"My father is in the cells," she mumbled to herself, taking in slow gulps to refresh her memory.

Nicklaus stretched a hand to her, "I thought you wanted him there," he reasoned, thinking she felt sad.

Arissa chuckled and turned to him as if he had lost his mind, "Are you serious right now?" she asked him breathlessly, and before Nicklaus saw it coming, she jumped on him and kissed him.

Excitement left her breathless.

Nicklaus quickly secured her waist when she jumped on him that way. Taken aback by the sudden kiss, it took him a second before he responded.

His eyes turned hungry and he ravaged her mouth in the kiss. He lay on his back when she jumped on him unexpectedly.

Changing their positions, he flipped her over and hovered above her. Arissa paused the kiss when her back landed on the bed.

Arissa gave him a pointed look filled with questions, "How did you do it?"

Nickalus parted his lips and breathed from it. Air was knocked out of Arissa’s lungs when he did that. Breathing that way, he looked so tempting.

"I had a lot of evidence against him and yours was the go-ahead because it happened recently," he replied.

Arissa smiled and then she ran a hand through his hair. Nicklaus caged her between his arms and shut his eyes, enjoying her softness and comfort.

Seeing him with no defense held high, all Arissa saw was a cute baby before her and it made her chuckle.

She leaned forward and placed a deep kiss on his jawline, "Thank you," she smiled at him and then added, "My Angelic Devil,"

She nicknamed him and then she giggled. Nicklaus smiled and leaned in for another kiss.
