Chapter 294: No Matter How Difficult It Would Be.
Nicklaus laughed softly and leaned in to kiss her on her cheeks. His lips turned into a sweet smile.
His heart bubbled. The fact she was beginning to take notice of his inner self gladdened and also terrified him at the same time.
People hardly notice his inner self apart from his foster parents and Geal and before they would, it would take a little time but she hit him straight with just a reply from him.
He pondered what it could be and parted his lips to speak, "I don’t know, you tell me why you think so," he opened the floor for her to speak up.
Arissa thinned her lips, "Does this mean I’m right?" she asked, hopefully.
Nicklaus’s eyes twisted and then he leaned closer and placed a kiss on her neck. He inhaled her scent for a moment before he pulled away.
"You changed your perfume," he noticed and leaned in again, softly pulling her slender body into himself from her waist.
Arissa frowned, a bit annoyed he dogged her question with no plan to reply to her. She dug her fingers into his hair and shut her eyes.
She took her fingers off his hair and wrapped her hand around his neck, "I did, Which do you think scents better? The former or this?" she asked him softly, feeling positive he would one day be all open to her.
The fact he doesn’t have an ex but a mother as his first love gave her more courage to embrace her feelings and merge them with his. No matter how difficult it would be.
Nicklaus chuckled sweetly, "I can’t tell but whichever one, I love the fact the scent comes from you. You scent so sweet,"
Arissa leaned away from his neck. She raised his face away from his neck and stared into his eyes.
Her gaze squinted, "You’re happy," she noticed and it confused her. He wasn’t happy a while ago.
"Hmm," Nicklaus hummed, sniffing her scent in the more from her shoulder as if he was addicted, "I am happy. I never thought we would one day hold ourselves this way,"
Arissa gulped softly, she released a soft breath from her lips. Her eyes turned sad, "It was all my fault," she murmured.
Nicklaus took his face off her shoulder and stared into her eyes. That exceptional feature in her was his favorite part of her body.
Nicklaus loves her eyes. The fierce warmness in them drew him in the first second he set his eyes on her.
"It was never your fault," he breathed, keeping his reply short.
Arissa smiled widely and licked on her lower lips. She appreciates how he makes her feel and for the fact he never leaves her feeling guilty, she would make sure he does not feel guilty in whatever decision he would take when they would have to depart.
Her hand traveled under his shirt and she felt his warm skin under her palm. She snuggled closer to him and released a soft sigh.
"Your tattoos," she muttered, running her hand through his chiseled muscles underneath his gray shirt.
Nicklaus raised a brow at her, "Wanna see them?"
Arissa raised her face to his eyes and back to his body, all in a split second, "Not see, I want to feel them, touch them, and know the meaning for each of them." she told him.
"....especially the Alpha wolf one on your right forearm,"
Nicklaus sat up on the bed and took off his shirt. His skin was a healthy tan and Arissa could not help but wonder if he sprayed tan.
With her eyes strongly fixed on his back as if to bore a hole in his skin, she slowly sat up with her fingers stretched out.
They have had sex a couple of times but this was the first time he was giving her permission to feel him and to her, she would forever treasure this moment.
Her finger came in contact with his back and her eyes sparkled. Nicklaus drew in a sharp sensually heated breath as a simple touch from her affected his mind.
A soft sigh escaped Arissa’s lips when she ran her fingers through the majestic eagle tattoo drawn across his back with dark ink.
’How can a man’s skin be this smooth and beautiful?’ she thought.
She blinked frequently and pushed herself closer to Nicklaus. She chuckled, "He is beautiful," she voiced out.
Nicklaus nodded with a soft gulp.
From her fingers stroking the eagle, Arissa spread her palm on Nicklaus’s back, shut her eyes, and felt the drawing with a soft grateful smile on her lips.
She parted her eyes after a short while and asked, "What does the eagle stand for? Why did you have him?"
Nicklaus tilted his head to her a little, trying to catch a glimpse of her face. Arissa faced him with a smile and he smiled back before staring ahead.
"That eagle gave me positivity to life with a thousand courage and strength to move on." he kept his reply short again, avoiding sensitive areas.
Arissa felt what he was doing and she played along. Placing her other hand on his back, she ran it down as if giving him a soft massage.
"And what does the lone Alpha wolf signify?" she asked, still doing what she was doing.
It surprises her that when they first met, she gave him a name from his tattoos without knowing him.
Nicklaus smiled and shut his eyes as his body relaxed the more. "The lone wolf is associated with power, strength, and courage just like the Eagle at my back. While drawing this wolf, I felt I was the leader of my fate and I have been holding onto that as long as I could remember,"
Arissa nodded in understanding. She paused her movement at his back and came over to his forearm where the wolf was drawn and stared at it. The design of the wolf was beautiful.
The background where the wolf stood was a forest with a full moon above it and she had never felt a deep connection to drawings the way she felt connected to the ones on Nicklaus’s body.
She came over and sat before him. She held his right hand up and stared at the flying bird drawings from his elbow down to his wrist.
Starting at the single flying bird with a bright cloud above its head, she said, "I guess this means freedom, freedom from whatever had been holding you back,"
