Chapter 235: Men Only Have Time For Special Women.

Letting go of that conversation, Arissa stood up from the couch and walked towards Adele’s bed. Jocelyn followed after her and stood behind her.

Starting at Adele, Arissa remembered that poor lady on the bed some minutes ago. Adele’s resemblance to her mother was beautiful.

Although Arissa looked everything like Laura, she don’t see it as a pride. She would have preferred taking her facial looks after Mr. Adams than that evil woman.

It surprised her that Mr. Adams came to her mind.

Upon everything Arissa learned about Mr. Adams, she can’t bring herself to dislike him and she doesn’t know why. Right from a tender age, she felt a strong pull between them.

She had tried to hate him for watching Adele suffer alone but she couldn’t and now, she tried to turn her heart away from him since he wasn’t fully standing by her, and regardless she could not.

She pitied the couple. Her wish to hurt her parents increased a thousand times. Each time this feeling to hurt her parents come, it leaves her feeling like a bad daughter to them but she no longer cares.

In her life, they also would have been better parents and in the lives of others, they would have been better people.

She has heard about most of the people he had hurt from Mr. Adams but to hear and to see are two different things. Seeing Adele’s parents shred her heart.

Arissa wondered what the couple might have done to her parents or could it be they stole Adele specifically for the marriage profit purpose.

Thats ridiculous!

Adele was stolen years back. If she should be so sure, her father hasn’t taken over the company yet so what made them forcefully take Adele away from her parents? The man she met there was calm and loving, she refused to believe he offended her father somewhere.

She wondered how Adele felt being lied to all her life. Not just lied to, but she was also destroyed with a baby as a result.

Arissa wondered what would have happened had it been she came back a day late. Would they have killed Adele with those drugs? After killing Adele and she doesn’t come back, what next?

She never foresees this. Never had she anticipated her parents would turn out this way. If not for the fact she looks like Laura so much, Arissa would have been convinced she was also not their daughter since they could give her out for money.

She would easily believe if someone tells her that Laura doesn’t love her enough to protect her but Alfred was never someone she viewed as that way.

She could remember the times he showed her hopes that he love them and the naive foolish her believe those gestures only to be sold out in the blink of an eye.

Now she has some feelings for her husband, Arissa would have loved to move on with her life, forget they exist and be happy with Adele. However, she could not.

Adele was a strong woman. She woke up happy, she already loves the baby, and she could still smile and remember those bastard people. Getting married was enough to kill her joy at the beginning so, one could imagine how she would begin to view life if what happened to Adele were to happen to her.

"Adele won’t like to see you so spaced out," Jocelyn informed from behind, breaking Arissa off her train of thought.

Hearing Jocelyn, Arissa smiled. She took Adele’s hand in hers. "I was only remembering a few things," she answered.

Jocelyn ran her hand through Arissa’s hair, "Soon she would be discharged, and then, you won’t have to remember again. You both would make up for all the times missed,"

Arissa smiled and nodded her head. She doesn’t know what she would have done without Jocelyn. Her friend makes sure to always fill the empty spaces in her.

"How about Richard, don’t you think it’s time for the both of you to reconcile? Adele is already awake,"

Arissa turned to Jocelyn. Eyeing the couch, she signaled for them to go back there and talk in case Adele could hear them.

Jocelyn nodded in understanding and they walked back to the couch. Sitting down, Arissa explained, "Richard is in more danger than you think. My father won’t mind killing him as he had killed his father. The only reason Richard breathes is because he doesn’t have eyes for the company and I want him to be that way. He should never know what happened to Adele. Richard is very stubborn and the moment he finds out, he would take quick action which would lead to my father killing him. I think it’s better this way,"

Jocelyn frowned, "His Adele favorite, what do we do if she asks after him?"

Arissa released a long breath, "We should only tell her his good. She would also understand why we can’t tell him anything," she signaled Jocelyn to come closer.

Jocelyn came closer and when she was close enough, Arissa whispered into her ear, "Nicklaus found Adele’s parents,"

Jocelyn stiffened.

Arissa pulled away from Jocelyn’s ear. She started at her shocked friend, "They are also in this hospital,"

Jocelyn blinked harshly, her mouth parted in shock, "How did this happen?" she asked.

"Earlier when we left, he showed them to me," Arissa answered and from there, she explained every detail about the couple to Jocelyn.

"We would need Adele’s permission for a DNA and I don’t even know how to break the news to her," Arissa concluded.

Jocelyn’s eyes widened, "This is so sudden. He did this for you and you tell me he feels nothing for you? Men only have time for special women and the fact he is so interested in you down to your problems should be enough clues for you to know,"

Arissa rolled her eyes, "He is only helping. By the way, we made a deal a few weeks ago and I believe he’s keeping to it,"
