His Toxic Addiction
Chapter 229: I Thank The Heavens.

Chapter 229: I Thank The Heavens.

Arissa pulled away from Nicklaus when she heard Stephen’s words. She reached for her phone in her pant and typed Collins’s contact out before pressing the send sign.

"Excuse me," she said to Nicklaus and Stephen before walking away. The call was connected after a beep and a grateful smile covered her face.

She took in a deep breath. "Collins," she called, closing the door behind her, "How have you been?"

"I’m okay," his voice gave feedback from the other end.

Arissa sighed, trying to control her almost trembling voice. "Are you free?"

"I’m on my way to the hospital, my flight was delayed. How is Adele?" he asked.

Her heart jumped in grace. He’s on his way to the hospital was great news. She thought he was still back in his hometown.

She sniffed, "Adele is alright. Just fast asleep_"

"What happened?" Collins cut her off when he heard how trembling her voice sounded, "Are you alright?"

"I am," Arissa laughed but it was a poor attempt to lift her mood as tears slipped out of her eyes, irrespective of her forced laugh.

"Arissa?"

"I’m fine but I badly need your help," she finally let her sobs out, "How far are you from the hospital?" she questioned with tears now streaming down her face.

She tried to hide her emotions until he arrives but her heart became too heavy to bear it so she let it out.

"Shu," Collins hushes her over the phone, "It’s alright, I’d be there in the next twenty minutes. Brace yourself together and wait for me,"

"I_" she was cut off when the door pushed open. Nicklaus stood before her, "I shouldn’t have said this now," he said in regret as he brushed her tears off her face with his fingers.

He laughed, "You are such a crybaby," he teased holding the tip of her red nose fondly.

Arissa giggled, "I’m not," she pulled his fingers off her nose, "I’m just too grateful and not knowing how to repay you leaves me confused with lots of tears," she said forgetting that she was on a call.

Nicklaus cleaned every trace of her tears with both hands before cupping her face in them, "I never thought of repayment. I would always say this, always and forever I want you to always be happy." he said.

"I can never give you that happiness you deserve. I haven’t completely found one myself and if doing this would keep you smiling this way, then I don’t mind going to the underworld to return this smile," he added.

Arissa cracked up with more tears rolling down her face. "I_ thank you," she was lost for words to say, "This is everything. Though you’re not without your flaws, I’m happy to have known you,"

Nicklaus’s heart ran out of his chest and fell on his palm. His shoulders fell, and all the bones in his body turned weak from the passion and adoration he has for this woman.

For the too much adoration he has for her, he did not know when he yanked her to himself and seized her lips greedily. He kissed her with all the feelings he felt for her. The kiss was sweet, brutal, rough, soft, and many more.

He slammed her back on the door and kissed out every corner of her mouth. Arissa slowly dropped her phone to the floor and pulled him to herself, kissing him back.

She expected the worst when she got married and not someone who would care about her this way. Perhaps her parents aren’t so wrong for selling her out. This man kissing her helped her to know what it felt like to be protected, secured and what a real peace of mind meant.

And yes, she’s glad to have known him, she’s happy to have known him, and if she isn’t asking too much, she would want them together in her next life but from a right start and not some arranged marriage.

She regretted! She regretted all of it, the moments she had spent on staying away, the moments she spent arguing with him, and the seconds she spent on asking for a divorce.

If Arissa could rewind the hands of the clock, she would have done it and then repeat those days but with no clash between them.

Nicklaus parted the kiss. His deep dark eyes pierced into her brown ones, "I thank the heavens for bringing you my way," he confessed, and Arissa blushed.

He pinched her cheek, "You’re cute," he complimented her, "Just as your cheeks, how about I also make your butt cheeks seductive red, tonight?" he asked thoughtfully.

Arissa blushed harder this time. She folded her lips to hide the smile about to show itself. He has talked about sex twice in just a day and she loves this cheesy side of him.

"I’d spend the night here," she broke the news to him with a small smile, "Maybe some other time," she suggested and her whole body immediately blushed alongside her face.

The corner of his lips curled into a mischievous smile, "Accept to be fucked thoroughly?" he tapped into his cheesy side.

He had never brought out this side of him. He hates it but being this way with her seemed perfectly alright and he loved how heated she blushed.

"Get lost," Arissa pushed him aside with a tomato-red face before picking up her phone that fell off when they kissed from the floor.

Meanwhile, at the other end, Collins stared ahead, listening to the couple’s conversation. He tried to smile over their display of affection but his mood turned more depressed.

After a little more struggle, his lips lifted into a sad smile. He thought he had killed his feelings yet his heart says otherwise.

He hung up on the call and continued driving. One thing he comforted himself with was how Nicklaus always keeps her happy.

The call was evident. She was speaking to him but in Nicklaus’s presence, she forgot about him. He chuckled, they suit each other so much and know when to comfort the other.

Well, since they thanked the heavens, he also thank the heavens they met themselves.
