Logan fixed his eyes on Laura. Unlike her usual unkempt appearance since she arrived here as a captive, she now looked refreshed.

She was back to her normal self and body with only her hand bandages looking out of place in her. She stared straight into Logan’s eyes.

"I’m letting you go," he declared.

Laura frowned and smiled at the same time. He was letting her go, she was supposed to be eager to leave which wasn’t happening because a part of her sensed something more than just him letting her go.

"What’s the catch?" she asked to know what she was getting herself into. "You’re not letting me go for free, are you?"

Logan’s stern gaze turned dark, "Don’t flatter yourself, you are no longer of use," he bluntly downgraded her.

Laura stiffened at his harsh words. She would have said something but she immediately zipped her lips when she remembered more parts of her body could get bandaged if she provoke him with her words.

"Thank_"

"And lest I forget, Adele is awake," he cut her off, "And don’t thank me. My men would still trail after you so get ready to revisit this place for a slight mistake,"

Laura’s bright face turned ugly. Now, the reason why she shouldn’t be so happy offered itself to her. Why would his men still trail behind her? He has all she worked for over the years, why does he still want to enslave her?

She asked in her thought but dared not to say it out. His unsmiling expression was already too much of a warning to her.

Laura simply nodded in agreement. With no words shared again between them, Logan walked out of her cold cell and ordered one of his close men to take her back home.

He got into his car and drove back to his always-busy base. He went straight to his room. Taking his coat off, he flung it on the bed and stood for a while, staring at Arissa’s portrait with a lot of things in his mind.

His blood boiled more as seconds passed. He barely knows her but it takes a day to know and also love a person.

He felt their connections even inside his bone marrow. They were meant to be soul mates until Nicklaus happened.

His anger and jealousy toward their marriage weren’t so huge. They were just flirting at the beginning but now, he would have to take Nicklaus down with Alfred and the more irrelevant person that would hinder their union.

Logan has patience as a virtue. Patience was his only weapon but not anymore. He no longer wants patience in his life.

Nicklaus caused this for himself the moment he interfered in Arissa’s life. He - Logan - is meant to be the hero in her life, the one who would bring her parents to her on their knees and not someone else.

Nicklaus can’t steal his shine so easily.

He sat on his bed. Nicklaus can’t steal his shine but in all honesty, the man already has. He never knew he was slacking behind so far.

He fell back on his bed, rubbing his palm on his face while staring up at his ceiling. He brushed his now-dyed black hair backward.

Suddenly, he remembered something in his crowded mind.

"Valeria," he muttered when he remembered he have someone to pick up. More like a friend.

He sat up from the bed and snatched his coat and his car keys before departing the room again. However, his feet halted on the staircase.

A smile spread across his face. Just before him, Valeria was already home and was even talking to one of his boys.

Sarah who had trailed behind Logan since he left his room stopped. She stood behind him, about to get closer and give a report to begin a conversation with him, her eyes tangled with a beauty at the door.

That hair, that hair looked familiar, she have seen that woman here before, she can’t forget that brunette hair that made her feel jealous.

What’s she doing here? She thought.

She turned to Logan and the smile on his face killed her. Before her eyes, Logan walked to the woman, pulled her into a hug, and kissed her cheek and her neck.

The woman giggled when Logan pressed his lips on her neck. It grossed Sarah a lot that she had to turn away.

She tried walking away but she couldn’t as in the next minute, she found herself walking toward them. She stood still and watched their affection.

She looked down on her knees and won’t look at them. She stayed behind Logan and the burette-haired beauty.

Her throat went dry when Logan affectionately wrapped his arm around the beauty. She swallowed uneasily. He seems fond of this lady.

She was shaken by the woman’s presence and was also unable to say a word. She was beyond jealous, her lips were unable to part.

They looked like a couple. Was Logan a man whore? He said he love Arissa so who was this lady? If he’s a man-whore, why can’t he just be one for her?

Their interaction looked very sweet and touching. The woman responded sweetly to the touches also. Sarah’s eyes darted between Logan and the woman.

Logan turned to Sarah as if he knew she had been there, "Tell Vincent I want everyone in the hall at this moment," he instruct.

Sarah nodded. Walking away from them, she turned occasionally and watched them climb up the staircase.

She immediately regretted leaving her room. What kind of an eyesore are they showing to her? She felt disgusted at the new Logan.

Finding Vincent, she passed the information. There was a little to no murmur around at the sudden information.

The whole men dropped their training weapons and walked in the direction of the hall, passing the message to those along the way.

Sarah joined them from behind. Getting into the hall, she stood at the wall side and refused to work further.

Logan should just give his order so she would go to her room. Hence, she was surprised at the next words that left Logan’s lips.

"Everyone, officially meet Valeria," he introduced the woman to the whole hall. Everyone smiled at her except Sarah. She stood lips sealed, watching everyone.

She came here because she thought it was work-related only to hear these words from Logan. She fixed her eyes on the woman beside him.

The woman stared back and their gazes collided.
