Chapter 182: Making Her Breathless Wasn’t Enough.
Arissa stired the pot as she prayed her cooking would not be in vain because it was already past eight pm and Nicklaus wasn’t still back home.
She was tempted to call him but she immediately kicked against it. She haven’t yet recovered from the yesterday rush of adrenaline she felt.
Tasting what she prepared, she loved the taste. She only pray Nicklaus won’t give her some cold look for her strange attitude. If he does that to his mother, then who was she?
This was her first time cooking for him. The last time she offered him a plate, he had coldly rejected it and she could see more disaster on this.
She turned off the gas cooker before turning around to take the plates she kept on the kitchen island. Her hands about to pick up the plates froze when she saw Nicklaus before the door starting at her.
She blinked and stood transfixed staring at him.
Holding his strong haze without blinking, she took in his casual appearance. He was already on a white shirt and pajamas pant which means he have been home for a while now.
’And he never cared to see me,’ she thought, ’God, Arissa, what are you thinking,’ she immediately chided her thoughts. Why would he come to see her after work?
Breathing slowly, her eyes went around him, he was all manly and sexy which sent a blush to her cheek and around her face. The feeling from yesterday flowed in her again and she immediately shut her eyes.
She loved it but still, she have to set their boundaries. They weren’t up to that level yet and would never be. So, she have to stop seeing him in a new light.
Arissa thinned her lips before turning away from him, leaving the plates on the kitchen island.
"Arissa," Nicklaus finally broke the silence. His voice was dominantly low when he called her and Arissa could not help the slight tremble she felt in her legs.
Could someone be so seductive with just a word? She turned back to him and she immediately felt like she was dying.
Gazing into those dark eyes of his, she turned all heated up when she recognized the emotions in them.
In his eyes, he got that sexy yet evil and dangerous lustful light in them. Was he starting at her that way for real or was it her hormones were causing her to see those?
Nicklaus eyes trailed over her, all dark and satisfying. She was on a simple basketball jersey with no pant under as he could see her lovely skin without a struggle.
He moved closer to her and Arissa took a step back. The kitchen was spaciously large and he wasn’t half way close to her but Arissa felt like he was already close to her with his arm on her waist.
She cursed herself for this feeling but she couldn’t help it. No one told her to prepare herself for him tonight.
She stood there lost, unable to step away and with time, Nicklaus caught up with her. He stopped directly before her and started into her eyes.
Arissa breath hitched, "Don’t give me that look," she said lowly and started away from his eyes.
Nicklaus’s brows crease in confusion, "What look?" he sounded curious.
She looked up at him, "That all-focused look, it’s wired,"
Nicklaus frowned, "Why?" he asked.
Arissa gulped and tried to take a step back but Nicklaus caught her waist and yanked her to himself when she tried to move away.
Arissa gasped, "Stay away," she ordered him in fright, realizing how close they were. It was dangerous, any wrong movement, he would be grounding himself against her.
Rather than listening to her, Nicklaus leaned towards her. Arissa leaned away but with his free hand, he held her the back of her head and pressed his forehead to hers.
He closed his eyes the moment their foreheads touched and a rough breath escaped his nose with his eyes still closed.
Arissa did not blink as she just watched him. A second later, he parted his eyes and started right into her eyes.
When his dark eyes stared directly into her brown ones as if staring directly into her soul, she knew for a moment her would left her as she wasn’t able to breath and as if making her breathless wasn’t enough, he whispered, "How about this look? You also don’t like it?"
Arissa heart trembled when his deep voice assaulted her ears with his minty breath fanning her face. Fire immediately rushed through her skin.
She tried to look away from his eyes but she couldn’t. With his arms around her waist and their body so close, her heart beat picked up with speed.
It worstened when she felt heat emitting from his body. His overpowering icy scent infilarated her nose, she finally blinked and before Nicklaus would see it coming, she leaned towards his lips and kissed him.
Caught off guard, Nicklaus let out a low grunt and pulled her into himself. Her hand sank into his hair as they continued kissing.
Satisfied a few seconds later, Arissa tried to pull away but Nicklaus refused the idea as he whirled her around and slammed her on the kitchen island and turned the slow kiss into a rough one.
Arissa frowned when he took control of the kiss with his hands roaming all over her body. She took her hand off his hair and tapped on his shoulders to stop.
"Nick_" she muffled out of the heated kiss. She want to kiss him but she couldn’t have it. She can’t afford to get horny, she was no longer on her safe week and she won’t risk it even with a condom.
Nicklaus arms that snaked around her body held her more firmly before stopping the kiss, "What happened?" he questioned.
Arissa simply turned away from him with a low breath, "I made dinner," she announced awkwardly before walking out of him.
