Chapter 153: A Real-life Aphrodite.
Raquel frowned when the noise outside disturbed her beauty massage. Her whole countenance immediately changed from calm to fury.
"Stop," she snapped at the lady massaging her feet. Her brows wrinkled as she got more annoyed just by looking at the low life before her.
The staff massaging her feet face turned panicked but when she realized she was just doing her job, her emotions got bold and she looked at the arrogant young Miss before her.
"I thought I paid for the whole floor?" she asked the staff in fury.
The young lady nodded professionally, "You did ma’am,"
Raquel got more infuriated, "Then what’s the commotion all about? Wasn’t this place supposed to be quiet until I leave," she snapped, her voice getting foolishly high.
"I think_"
"Get me my heels," she cut the staff off her explanation. The staff turned confused but stood up still as offending this rich mistress would cost her her only means of survival.
She picked up Raquel’s pointy tools heel from beside the soft-leg sofa and placed it before Raquel but the mistress gave her an annoyed look, "Don’t you know you are meant to put it on me? After paying for your service, do you still expect me to work?"
The staff brow folded, she felt insulated. When she was told this young miss had a bad personality, she never believed it until this moment and not just a bad personality, she also had a bad temper.
Cursing at Raquel inwardly, she promised never to serve her again even if the CEO requests that. Carefully, she wore the young miss her heels but what she did not expect was that the moment she did the last strap, Raquel pinned her palm down with the heel.
"Wait to get fired from this salon_"
Raquel was cut off from her promise when the door was suddenly opened from the outside, "How dare you?" she slammed with authority, taking her heel off the staff’s palm as she could not afford the news to leak out. Even if this staff want to send it out, her fans would cover her up as they knew her as a sweet lady but she can’t attack a witness to the case.
The staff who just got in bowed in apology, "I’m so sorry ma’am,"
Raquel huffed, "How would you? I bought the whole floor but still, you can’t give me the best service, and for the noise out there, all the staff on this floor would be fired the moment I’m out," she promised in an angry tone.
The staff who just came in face blanched in horror, "Ma’am I_" she darted an eye to the other staff in the room, "Please forgive me," she pleaded.
They both knew how influential this mistress family was to the growth of this beauty salon so it surprised the other staff when she saw her colleague not begging to secure her job.
Raquel watched the staff before her and her arrogance swelled, "Kneel," she ordered. The staff who just walked in immediately knelt to the floor but the other staff did not.
"I_"
"Ma’am, I’m sorry about the commotion out there. We still offer excellent courtesies and the commotion wasn’t from us. It’s just that the Waytt couples are in the building and_"
"Did you just say the Wyatt couple?" Raquel eyes shone with happiness like that of a teenage fan girl who would finally meet her idol.
"Yes ma’am," the staff finally felt free to speak while the other staff fixed a heated gaze on Raquel.
Not waiting for any more confirmation, Raquel turned to the other staff who refused to kneel, "I’d get back to you," she turned to the staff kneeling, "Where are they now?"
"They are heading towards the elevator, towards the VIP lounge. They paid for the whole salon and that is why I came in here so I could inform you," the staff hastily explained.
Raquel frowned as she realized the quantifier that was being used.
They? Does that mean she would see that bitch of a woman for the second time?
Not wasting a second more, she briskly walked out. Luckily for her, the elevator to the VIP lounge was on her floor so it wasn’t hard for her to spot the couple. She rolled her eyes when she saw most people from the low floor struggle to take a picture of the couples with their phones held up.
Smiling, she stood for a moment and dragged her tank top, exposing her cleavage, she followed the couple from behind with her steps fast as she had to catch up without running.
Raquel let go of her status and with an outstretched hand of longing, "Mr. Wyatt," she yelled.
"Nick," Arissa called Nicklaus to a pause when he kept on walking without looking behind him to know who was calling. She would have ignored it also but the voice seemed desperate.
Nicklaus’s hand clenched her wrist softly, "That could wait. We are already close to the elevator, when you are done and could walk properly, we would answer whoever,"
"Nick_"
"Mr. Wyatt..." a breathless voice called close to them and Arissa’s face turned stern when she recognized that voice. It was the lady from that night.
Nicklaus’s aura instantly darkened, "Raquel," he turned to the source of the voice with a frown as all of the warmth he had with Arissa vanished.
Raquel flipped her hair over her shoulder seductively, "Yes Mr. Wyatt, I was thinking if you are free for the night_"
Arissa cleared her throat at the lady’s shamelessness. Her gaze darkened as she focused on the lady before her, "Nick," she tugged Nicklaus’s arm, "Let’s g_"
"You are the lady married to Nicklaus," Raquel said in a mocking tone as if unaware of Arissa’s presence. Raquel was about to roll her eyes but her eyes and balls stayed rooted on Arissa as she was unable to take them away.
Damn! She’s a real-life Aphrodite, Raquel drolled over Arissa’s beauty.
The night of the auction, the hall was dim so she barely saw this lady’s beauty and now she did, Raquel was transfixed by the glamorous lady before her.
Dressed in a skintight black leather trench coat with a belt clinching to her slim waist, Arissa paired her outfit with inny black leather pants and an oversized camel cape on the top.
For her feet, she rocked black heeled boots while her hand clinging to a classic red suede fringe balmain purse. Raquel blinked. She was close to tears as she couldn’t stand seeing someone more beautiful than her close to Nicklaus. She had always thought no woman would ever outgrow her beauty.
Yet, someone who was higher than her in beauty and even in the fashion world was before her.
Raquel’s eyes went to Arissa’s waist where Nicklaus’s arm clenched and then to Arissa’s face. Arissa let out a perfect smile that blinded the sun as she taunt Raquel. She never believed she looked so good that a lady would drool on her that way.
She softly took Nicklaus’s hand off her waist and stepped closer to Raquel, "That I am," she clarified Raquel’s words.
Her bright smile did not flatter as she stretched out her soft hand for a handshake. Raquel darted her eyes over to Nicklaus and her chest tightened when she saw him so focused on his wife. He did not even blink as it was as if his wife was the only woman he had ever seen.
With clenched teeth and a forced acting smile, Raquel took Arissa’s hand in hers. Arissa’s smile widened but Raquel’s smile drooped when Arissa added in a low voice, "You don’t talk to my husband like he’s single and particularly not around me. The next time you do that, you won’t be able to force that smile out again," Arissa warned deadly with her smile not falling.
Standing straight, Arissa parted the handshake before searching her purse. Getting a card, she stretched it towards Raquel, "It was nice meeting you in person. Here’s my card maybe we could hang out someday, what do you think?" her voice was jovial, like one around a friend which confused Nicklaus.
Raquel nodded before taking the card from Arissa. She looked at the commanding lady before her as she could not believe someone was sassier than her with superb acting. She knows Arissa doesn’t like her, her female instinct told her that but with how Arissa acted all loving, it was like a warning.
Having a bit of self-respect as she does not want to cause a fuss to feed the press - not that she hasn’t after running after the couple that way - she smiled at Arissa and walked away from the couple without looking at Nicklaus.
Today might be Arissa’s lucky day but she promises to hit back. Her fist consciously clenched the card Arissa gave to her. Surely, it would be of help one day and she would make sure of it that Arissa would not have an escape and when she’s done, she would be the one Nicklaus would look at that way.
