Arissa snuggled into her pillow. You know that feeling when you are having the best dream so you try to cheat time? Well, that was what Arissa was feeling as she shut her eyes to continue sleeping.

Her whole stress had left her, unlike the other days when she stayed up late without sleeping, today was different as she was unable to walk out of bed.

Relished in all that happened between her and Nicklaus last night, her breath hitched as her imagination ran wild and insanely vivid.

Her legs under the duvet tightened, and her body turned sensually feverish as the feeling of Nicklaus’s body on her reweighed her.

How his hands glided along her thighs and with the way he took off her pantie... Oh God, this was all too much for her poor mind as she was just starting her day.

How immoral of her to start her day with such thoughts.

Swallowing a handful of breath into her lungs, she sat up from the bed trying to forget all that happened last night.

Drawing her duvet to cover her open chest, she rolled her eyes when she felt her c*re burning in want - want for him. Now, she regretted why she fell into his charms last night.

She would have just ignored him and then, she wouldn’t have been in this situation. Parting her legs to kill the sensation, her mind went numb as she imagined Nicklaus thrusting into her after spreading her legs that way.

"Oh, sh*t!" she gasped as she fastly shut her legs again. She gulped and with a soft sigh, she shut her eyes to walk out of whatever charm he might have led her into.

Controlling the wired sex hormones in her - which she was sure wasn’t from her, she came down from her bed naked and walked into her closet.

She would have to go to the gym, a little exercise might take her mind off this feeling.

Nicklaus’s running feets paused on the treadmill when the music playing from his earplug stopped and was replaced with his call notification sound.

Furrowing his brows, he pressed his earplug, answering the call without taking a glance at his phone screen to know who was calling.

"Speak up," he ordered whoever was at the other end. His tune was all breathy as he had been in the gym for almost two hours now.

"Boss.." Daniel cleared his throat from the other end and Nicklaus’s demeanor turned more serious with attention, "We managed to find where Logan kept Laura," he reported.

Nicklaus’s furrowed brows tightened and if he was pleased by the news he just received, it never showed on his face.

His poker face did not change at the delight and rest that came with the news.

"She is far off his residence," Daniel continued.

Nicklaus nodded.

"What did you find out about Vincent?" he questioned, his voice less icy.

Daniel smiled at the other end as he pressed himself for a job well done. He had read his boss so well and with the change in tune, he knew his boss was pleased even if he don’t say it.

Coming back to business, "Well, unlike Logan, Vincent has a small family. He has a wife who he adores so much and a seven-year-old daughter. They seem to be his whole life and he wouldn’t stand the blow if he loses one of them," Daniel informed brilliantly like he found the best solution to a problem.

Nicklaus’s eyes squinted darkly, "How about family members? No relatives?" he asked Daniel.

Daniel’s face flattened, "He has no family member but his wife and kid would_"

"Enough," Nicklaus cut him off sternly, "We can’t use a child who knows nothing for our benefit," he reprimanded the idea.

Though the child and his wife would be unharmed, Nicklaus can’t buy that idea. The moment Daniel said that he feared the future. He has all the power to protect any amount of children he could have but he wasn’t able to imagine his child with Arissa being taken as bait for information - information he could still get with just a little patience.

"Then_"

"Add a little more patience on this. We won’t touch his family, we can’t extend all of these. Work harder and when I talk to my wife about this, I’d get back to you," Nicklaus said.

"Okay," Daniel agreed to his boss’s order, "I found out why Logan is doing all of these," he added hastily as he knew Nicklaus was about to hang up on him.

Nicklaus paused from ending the call, "Speak up if it isn’t related to his family’s death" Nicklaus mandated impatiently.

"It wasn’t just that. A year ago, Alfred made a promise to him alongside protection and money," Daniel revealed.

With deep interest, Nicklaus walked away from the treadmill as his expression darkened.

Daniel continued, "To strengthen the bond between them, Alfred, Arissa’s father promised Arissa to him but when the company issue came forth, including Adele’s refusal and pregnancy, they had to blackmail Arissa to be with you so technically Logan lost her and somehow, I have a feeling he would come for her when he’s done with her father."

Nicklaus said nothing as he just pondered what he had just heard. He had never guessed Arissa and Logan had a story together but wait_

The picture that night, he remembered Arissa starting at Logan’s picture once when he entered her room, and not only that, the way they stared at themselves at the auction. Could it be that Arissa knew Logan and just lied to him that night to hide her affairs?

He tried not to have doubts but he could not help the doubts growing in his heart as he clenched his fists tighter.

"Focus on Adams, I want his whereabouts in the next twenty-four hours," Nicklaus said in anger as the information he just received was too hard for him to bear.

Arissa and Logan? He shook his head at the disgusting combination. She would never leave his side, not even when the contract expires and he would make sure of that.

Not listening to Daniel one more time, he ended the call and that was when he heard that siren soft voice behind him.

"Were you just talking about the Adams I know?" she asked.
