His Toxic Addiction -
Chapter 145: How The Madness Began.
Chapter 145: How The Madness Began.
He knows something, Alfred thought as he stared at Richard’s door from his tinted glass.
It was delusional of him to think so but he couldn’t help it. He was badly desperate to find Theodore that his rationality disappeared to the point where he points accusing fingers at anyone.
Technically, he has no one at his side. Even Adams was nowhere to be found and it was beginning to scare him which shouldn’t because he had promised to kill the man when he finds him but now, he just realized his worth and wants him back.
Laura - that fucking whore. Not that he cared about her but it would have been best if he knew where she was so he could question her. Her sudden disappearance made him more suspicious of her. She can’t possibly disappear on the day of his release as a mere coincident. She probably knows something.
Whoever had Theodore was someone who must have known his every move whom he had offended and wanted to take a bountiful revenge on him.
"Logan," he mumured. Only Logan would fit into this description.
If by chance his sins against his brother get to the law, not even Chief would save him. Speaking about Chief, that man had also left his side.
He remembered Logan’s words on how he made the man join him and his heart skipped a beat. He was alone on this, meaning he have to be extra careful in finding Theodore.
That impudent bastard spoiled his whole plan to rule the business world. Speaking of Logan, he doesn’t even know what the man has in store for him.
His heartbeat fastened.
He knew he was being watched and that makes it all difficult. Whoever sneaked Theodore out must be after his life because the judge would pass a judgment of immediate killing if his sins would be taken there.
He rubbed his hand on his throbbing head tiredly as he tried to calm down. He could already see his life hanging on a thread rope and it was all scary.
Was this how the people I had killed felt? He unconsciously asked himself. But then, he wasn’t to be blamed, Theodore was to be blamed for all of these. He started it if it wasn’t for him, Alfred knew he wouldn’t have been this dark.
If only Theodore haven’t been that way, if only all those incidents never happened maybe, just maybe the world would have been at peace with him but now, even at his victory, Theodore was still making him suffer.
...
Growing up Alfred had always been the loving and quiet sweetheart of the Lincoln family. His dazzling smile with those soft cheeks of his could melt the heart of anyone, even the devil.
However, his father seemed to be tougher and darker than the devil himself as the man’s pure hate towards the little child never subsided. From the second Alfred was born, the dislike started until it maneuvered into hate.
Alfred was ignored and hated by his father from a little age reasons being unknown to the boy until his father’s death.
The hate was so strong that everyone in the house even guests who stayed for just a minute felt it but even with the pure hate, the little boy still did his thing - the hate never stopped him.
From the sidelines, he carefully observed and adored his father. His father was like his greatest role model as he imitated the man in everything, even how his father part his lips while talking was imitated by the desperate boy hoping to be noticed.
All his life, he never hesitated to do whatever his father asked. The man rarely glances his way so whenever he does, Alfred would get high in delight that he would happily walk into death if his after asks him to at that moment.
To him, his father was the affectionless devil but that can’t be said for his brother Theodore.
Theodore the prince and golden egg of the family was just a week older than him but the privileges given to Theordore made it seem they was 10 years age gap between them. They were meant to be twins but due to some contradictions, he came out a week later.
To Theodore, his father was the best in the world. Alfred lost count of the number of occasions he tried not to cry while he watched his father cherish Theodore extraordinarily.
Growing up, he had tried to be exactly like Theodore. He mirrored Theodore in everything he did but his father never saw him. Rather, he made him watch while he made Theodore alone a successor to all of his multi-billion dollar empires.
He cared less about that as he was his brother’s biggest fan whenever they attended an event where Theodore had to display his smartness because he knew he would one day acquire his own stand in the family.
The competition with Theodore was tough as his brother was arrogant and smug as he wouldn’t even hang out with him. Theodore had always looked down on him.
Well, Alfred learned to live with it as he kept on supporting his brother and father while he worked hard on himself to eliminate his flaws.
While all of these happened, Theodore had all support even from the board members as he was their ever so rightful prince while he had only his mother as a support which he was okay with because she gave him all of the love he lacked.
He was contented and happy until one day when everything crashed. He schooled from the house while Theodore boarded at the best elicit school his father could find. Compared to Theordore, Alfred was treated less than a pauper.
He was on his way to his parent room to have a conversation with his mother about his collage but he stopped in their track when he heard his parents yelling. This was the first time he heard them yelling at each other.
It was wired so he got curious. Pressing his ear to the door, he listened to their argument and his face fell when he heard his name.
Sweat broke from his back. Could it be that he had offended his father?
He leaned more into the door and pressed his hands on the door for support and then he heard it. Forcing himself, he managed to stay still so he could listen to all of the details.
Drenched like a cat, from what he had heard, he walked back to his room in deep thoughts. Replaying all he had tried to do to applease his father, it suprised him he had no right to the Lincoln wealth.
His body vibrated from anger as resentment replaced the love he once had for his father and brother. It wasn’t fair, he also deserved a share in the wealth.
His dropped to the floor and wailed his heart out. All these while, it wasn’t clear to him but now it was. His father had forgotten about his existence.
He clenched his fist in realization. In this world, love wasn’t enough in fact, love wasn’t needed and that was the beginning of all of his madness.
