His Toxic Addiction
Chapter 129: Nicklaus was the least of her worries.

Chapter 129: Nicklaus was the least of her worries.

Standing before the door of the penthouse, Nicklaus waited. He waited for Arissa to rush down to him and.... and at least, say something.

He stood at the door for five minutes as he suppressed his ego by looking like a shy beggar that was scared to get into the rich family house due to uncertainty. The only difference was that this shy better screamed wealth, he wasn’t there for food but for words.

He wanted her to say something to him before he leaves this place.

Taking his hands off the doorknob, he advised himself to go into the car and leave for work. It was already pretty obvious that she don’t care what he does with other women.

That face of hers was too cold to assume she felt bad when he talked about another woman before her. He had expected her to apologize to him, yell at him or maybe, plead with him but that seemed to not be her business.

He had thought of seeing another woman to break her but it only made him look like a fool as she did not even call his name while he walked out.

Seems he was the least of her worries.

Getting into his car, he punched his steering wheel, trying to release his frustration on the wheel. Catching a glimpse of Arissa walking into the garage, Nicklaus’s hand hitting on his steering wheel instantly stopped.

At that moment, his heart leaped with joy as his ego increased. I should have known that she would surely come around to plead with me or yell at me not to see another woman, he thought with an anticipated smile while he watched her.

The excitement in his heart increased three times the previous rate when he saw her getting closer to the car he was occupying, forgetting the glass was tinted and that she won’t see him even if she stays closer, he waited.

And finally, a wide satisfied smile broke out on his lips when he saw her two steps away. Arranging his tie and emotions, he laid back on the driver’s seat, as he waited for Diego to knock on the door for her.

But slap! As if a scale fell from his eyes, fury washed over his heart when he saw Diego helping her into the car right beside him.

What just happened? He asked himself as he watched Diago walk over to the other side of the car and in no second, the car zoomed off right before his eyes. He blinked as Arissa left to wherever he was going with no care if he sees another lady or not.

He clenched his fist with fury burning with new emotions. She doesn’t care about me, he concluded in his heart while he watched the back of the leaving car in disbelief.

.....

Richard’s face turned sour seeing who was before his door. With sluggish reluctance, he pulled his door open with a not smiling face.

"To what do I own this visit?" Richard asked sarcastically but Arissa just rolled her eyes and walked past him.

About to close the door, he took notice of the man who came behind Arissa before the door, "Arissa! Is this your boyfriend?" he asked.

Arissa just rolled her tired eyes at him as she walked into the living room, "Diego come in," she spoke up, letting Diego in like she own the place.

"You can’t give orders that way," he corrected Arissa, "This is my house, remember?"

Arissa gave him a glaring side-eyes before turning fully to face Diego, "You can come in," she gestured for him to walk in.

Richard could only huff as he let the intimidating average-looking man in. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he looked around his luxuriously messy living room in embarrassment.

Shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly, he reduced his embarrassment, "What do you want?" he asked tiredly, staring at the two people before him who seem to be waiting for his permission before seating, or maybe, they were just embarrassed to take a seat in his messy sanctuary.

Diego turned his face towards his Mrs. "I’d excuse you both," he said in understanding. Arissa nodded at him as she appreciated his understanding.

Walking out of the living room, he stood far off close to the door. Richard’s house was luxuriously moderate so it wasn’t easy for Diego to find his way around.

"So, what made you grace me with your presence?"

"Put on a shirt," Arissa reprimanded him first. She has no time for this.

She only wants to have something and go back home to take a rest while she imagines all of the nonsense disgusting things Nicklaus might do with that ’new’ woman.

Richard chuckled seeing her stiff expression, "Why are you here?" he questioned playfully. Arissa fixed her eyes on him as his attitude infuriated her greatly.

"Get dressed," she ordered sternly.

With a playful grin which Arissa didn’t reciprocate, he searched around for his shirt. Seeing it on his couch armrest, he arranged his game targets before putting on his shirt.

"I missed you for a while, Love," Richard winked at her.

Having no strength for this phase of her life she would get from him, she ignored his wiredness, "Do you have any valid information about your father?" she questioned the moment the shirt passed through Richard’s neck.

Richard’s hands paused for a moment. Brushing off the emotions that come with a sensitive topic like his father, he passed the shirt off his head and eyed her.

Arissa’s face was indifferent meeting his emotional glare. She wasn’t there for emotions - she have a lot of them to take care of.

He should just reply to her so she would leave earlier to take care of hers.

"I told you once, I don’t know anything about my father," he reminded her.

Arissa nodded, "I only want medical reports, is it possible to have one?" her voice was hopeful.

Richard sat back on his couch, "I don’t have one," he replied, "Why are you asking all of these? First, his grave place and now his medical reports. Is there something you’re not telling me?" he asked suspiciously as he held Arissa gaze.

Softening her emotions a bit, Arissa walked towards the couch and took a seat beside him. Pondering over what she would reply to him, she took in a low sigh,

"I can’t tell you anything now,"
