Chapter 104: You both would make great parents.
Chapter 104: You both would make great parents.
Arissa jaw-dropped with her thought. How in hell’s name would Nicklaus be jealous of Collins, she asked herself.
Shaking her head to throw the thoughts away, she passed the wrong information to both men before her. "What is it?" They both asked in unison. Realizing their mind worked in accordance, their male ego kicked in. Taking a short pause, they glared at each other before facing Arissa.
"What is it?" Nicklaus asked as he held her arm. Arissa’s eyes widened with his question and when she saw Collins’s curious expression, she turned to Nicklaus with a smile.
"I think I feel dizzy," she complained truthfully. The idea of him being jealous because of her made her dizzy in seconds.
Collins’s jaw lowered in disbelief. Dizziness at this hour of the day? His eyes watched the couples before him. From how Nicklaus gently held her shoulder with care, and how Arissa smiled while complaining about it could only mean one thing.
"Are you pregnant?" he murmured slowly and the couple snapped their head to him. One in denial and disgust, the other in shock and acceptance.
Arissa’s eyes turned furious at Collins. The question was embarrassing and for the fact she answered him the other day, she felt like smacking that mouth of his for asking her the same question again, and worst still, it was before Nicklaus.
"I told you_"
Seeing the furious disgust in her expression, he knew she would bashfully say the truth in the meanest way without the care of hurting his ego. To shut her up, he placed his free hand on her tight and it did the trick.
Arissa froze at the instant and stopped talking.
Successfully cutting her off, Nicklaus picked up her line with all acceptance, "She is, our baby only wants her to rest. It isn’t so serious," he lied smoothly.
"How_"
"Shuu, love," Nicklaus cut her off again before brushing her lips with his thumb.
He had never considered having a wife. His main goal each morning when he woke up was just on expanding his empire and if need be, invite one of his contracted girlfriends over to have a release. His whole motive was to please the Wyatt couple and when his time comes, he lives the world with no one to continue his boring lineage.
However, the thought of Arissa being pregnant with his baby sounded so blissful in his ear that his heart leaped in excitement.
He don’t know what to call this, but he had immediately envisioned a mini version of her with black eyes and brown hair mischievously running around the house after causing chaos.
He chuckled at the image of Arissa smiling sweetly at the girl after grabbing her from the chase and scolding her for the havoc she just caused.
It was all too beautiful to be true. Nonetheless, he still wanted to participate in his imagination. So, without a second thought, he brought it to reality with his reply.
Collin’s eyes widened as his heart ripped open. Arissa said nothing and even if she wanted to lie to him again, there was no need because her sudden dizziness just explained it all. She was pregnant and decided to lie to his face the other day. He felt so hurt and it showed vividly on his face.
He tried not to believe it but with the way Nicklaus was all focused on Arissa, it explained it all that the man was an expectant father.
"I’m not pregnant," Arissa snapped furiously and glared at Nicklaus harshly, "Stop maki_"
"It’s okay Arissa," Collins cut her off, "women tend to deny it at the early stage due to the uncomfortable stress," Collins explained, trying to keep his feelings indifferent, "I understand if you don’t want to let me know about it," he chuckled but it came out bitter.
"Collins stop it. I just clarified that I’m not pregnant," Arissa snapped at him as she tried to explain but Collins just gave her an understanding smile and it irked her beyond control.
"Nick_"
"My flight would arrive here in the next one hour and until then, you have to go home and rest," Collins continued, not giving Arissa a chance to speak, smiling, he assured them, "You both would make great parents,"
The assurance shut Arissa in surprise. Placing her hand under the table, she forcefully yanked Nicklaus’s palm off her tight.
Nicklaus almost laughed out at her frustration. Turning to him, Arissa have him a tight unbelievable glare.
Nicklaus met her glare. It was dangerously inviting and before Nicklaus would restrain himself, he leaned in and gave her a light kiss.
Collins’s heart broke as he watched the couple. It was surprising how fast she was sailing with Nicklaus. He knew Arissa hardly fall in love but this was too rash. Just a month and three days old, they were already expecting a baby.
Turning to Nicklaus, he stood up from his seat, "Mr. Wyatt, please, a word with you," he requested.
With struggle, Nicklaus tore his eyes off Arissa’s enchanting face. Turning to Collins, he nodded lightly for the man to take the lead.
Arissa glared at Nicklaus before using the back of her palm to forcefully clean her lips. Nicklaus frowned at her act and luckily for him, Collins was already so hurt by the both of them. Staring ahead, the doctor missed Arissa’s misbehavior.
"Collins_"
"I’d get back to you Arissa. I just have to have a short chat with your husband," Collins said, cutting Arissa off.
He needed time to heal from what she had just offered him and for now, he won’t want to hear her voice. At least until he’s done talking to Nicklaus.
Feeling his bad mood, Arissa nodded her head at him.
With a polite nod, Collins flashed her a light smile. Her downcasted look hurt Nicklaus as he watched how down she was just with the fact the doctor snapped at her.
"Take the lead, Dr. Brodkin," Nicklaus ordered.
He’d had enough for tonight and he just wants this conversation to end so he could go back home with his wife.
Collins took steps forward and Nicklaus dominantly trailed behind. Arissa watched both men retreating until they were out of her view.
