Chapter 268: A Surge of Jealousy

Enzo cleared his mind as he immersed his body in the water. He felt better when the cold droplet touched his skin. He didn’t know how long he stayed there, just washing away his stress and worry.

After freshening up, Enzo wrapped the towel around his lower body and glanced at his reflection in the wide mirror. He took a deep sigh as he recalled his encounter with Lanny.

"I hope she already left," Enzo mumbled to himself, brushing his wet hair through his fingers.

After a while, he stepped out of the bathroom. But he was surprised when she saw Lanny leaning on the cabinet, blocking his way. She had a playful grin on her face as she sized him up from top to bottom.

"Hmm. Mr. Williams, why are you still frowning? Didn’t you cool down after taking a bath? You still look grumpy." Lanny teased him as she slowly traced her steps toward him.

The crease on Enzo’s forehead deepened when she started to move closer to him. Reflexively, he stepped back to keep his distance from her.

"Why are you here? This is not your room. Can you please leave me for a moment? I’ll just put on some clothes." Enzo sounded annoyed since he could tell that Lanny was deliberately teasing him or rather, tempting him.

"No need to do that. I’ve already seen everything." Lanny licked her lips as her gaze traveled over his torso. A playful grin spread across her face as her eyes lingered on his broad chest and down to his sculpted six-pack abs.

Enzo tightened his jaw as he continued stepping back, away from Lanny.

"Are you afraid of me? Why are you backing away?" She teased with a giggle.

Her eyes trailed down, stopping on his lower body which was only covered by a towel. It was a delicious sight for her. The spot between her legs throbbed as she craved for him.

Enzo’s face turned red. He didn’t know if he was blushing from embarrassment or annoyance. Sensing a danger sign, he immediately grabbed Lanny’s shoulders, stopping her on her track.

"What do you think you are doing? I said get out. Can’t you understand–" Enzo couldn’t finish his words when Lanny suddenly pressed her palm against his crotch.

Enzo’s eyes widened in disbelief. He swallowed hard, biting his lower lip to stifle a groan. Then he shot Lanny with a cold sharp glare.

"Stop it, Lanny!" He growled at her, capturing her wrist. She just touched something she shouldn’t have. And Enzo could feel his body responding to her touch. He was getting a hard-on, the bulge became visible on his towel.

"I don’t want to stop. I have to tame you," she spat back.

Without further ado, Lanny ran her free hand on his bare chest, feeling his hard muscles. Enzo’s eyes darkened in both fury and desire. Lanny was clearly tempting him right now.

When she thought her advances were working on Enzo, she closed the gaps between them as she leaned down, kissing his neck softly. She could feel the rise and fall of his chest. She knew that Enzo was trying his best to restrain himself.

"What do you want from me, Lanny?" Enzo’s voice sounded cold.

"You," Lanny replied as she looked into his eyes intently. "I. Want. You." she emphasized her every word.

Enzo narrowed his eyes at her. And in one swift move, he scooped her up and carried her toward the bed. A few seconds later, he tossed Lanny onto the soft cushion, pinning her hands beside her head. He hovered over her, his face just centimeters from hers.

Lanny’s heart pounded so loud in her chest, her eyes twinkling in excitement. She couldn’t wait for Enzo to kiss her.

As his face inched closer and closer to her, Lanny subconsciously closed her eyes, anticipating a passionate kiss from Enzo.

However, to her disappointment, Enzo didn’t seal her lips with his mouth. Instead, he used the mattress to trap her body, rolling her tightly in the sheets to immobilize her.

"What the fuck, Enzo?" She complained. "Let me go!"

Enzo smirked at her dangerously while lifting an eyebrow. "Since you don’t want to leave, then just stay there. I’ve warned you already. But you didn’t listen. Enjoy the bed."

After saying that, Enzo got off the bed. Then he quickly grabbed some clothes inside the cabinet before leaving Lanny behind.

Bam!

He shut the door with a triumphant smile on his face. He did it! He behaved so well, controlling his desire for Lanny.

’Good job, Enzo. You should take the lead. Show her who’s in charge. It’s you. Not her.’ he praised himself inwardly.

As he walked away, he still heard Lanny’s scream from the room. She was calling him a jerk. Enzo just shrugged his shoulders, ignoring her rant.

"Bro, what did you do? Where is Lanny?" Athena suddenly showed up from behind. She heard Lanny’s scream so she decided to check on them.

Enzo just feigned innocence as he replied, "She’s in your guest room."

Athena blinked in amusement, darting her gaze back and forth between Enzo and the door of her guest room.

"Is she alright?" She asked again, eyeing him suspiciously.

"Of course." Enzo promptly responded.

She just shook her head helplessly.

"By the way, Alice contacted me. She is looking for you. What should I tell her?"

Enzo fell silent for a moment at the mention of Alice’s name. Thinking about her, Enzo still had a soft spot for Alice. He lived with her for five years. He had loved her for real so he couldn’t fully harden his heart toward her.

"Don’t worry, Sis. I’ll talk to her." Enzo put on a faint smile. He couldn’t ignore Alice completely. He still owed her his life.

Athena just nodded in understanding.

Ding! Dong!

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell. "You have another visitor, Sis?"

"I don’t know who is coming over today. It might be Vladimir together with the kids." Athena replied excitedly.

"Alright. Let me welcome them. I miss Kimmy and Aaron."

Enzo headed out to open the gate. However, the person standing outside was not the one he expected to see.

"Alice? How did you find out that I’m here?"

Alice didn’t answer Enzo. She couldn’t tell him that she asked Levi’s help. Using Levi’s hacking skills, he managed to track Enzo’s location.

"Enzo, let’s talk... Please..." Alice said with her pleading eyes.

He took a deep sigh before inviting Alice in. Since Athena and Lanny were inside the house, Enzo just chose the garden area for them to talk.

Alice quickly hugged Enzo, afraid of letting him go. "Enzo, I know it’s my fault for hiding the truth from you. But please... can you give me another chance? I don’t want to break up with you."

For the first time, Alice had become so vocal with her feelings. The fear of losing Enzo gave her the courage to face her true feelings.

"I hope... it’s not too late for us to start over again."

Enzo didn’t respond right away. He just stood there in silence, analyzing his feelings.

Meanwhile, Lanny was also there, standing a few meters away from them. She overheard Alice’s words. And for some unknown reason, her chest tightened as if suffocating her.

Deep inside, she wasn’t happy to see Alice hugging Enzo while begging him to have a fresh start with him. She had the urge to separate the two as a surge of jealousy overtook her.
