[ At the Hospital...]

Sasha stayed by Dominique’s side all day. She was very attentive to him, taking care of all his needs.

But Dominique was missing someone else– Athena. Furthermore, he was worried about Athena and Enzo. He wondered how they were doing right now.

Although he requested Clint to release Enzo from being imprisoned, Dominique was clueless if things were okay on their end.

’I want to see Athena and Aaron. I’m missing them a lot but I can’t meet them because Sasha is sticking with me all day.’ Dominique heaved a deep sigh while staring at his untouched food.

"Don’t you have an appetite, Babe?" Sasha asked him worriedly. "You must eat so that you can recover quickly," she added.

"I want something else. You can only buy the menu at JB Restaurant. Can you buy it for me?" Dominique requested Sasha. This was his way of sending her away.

"Oh, sure. I’ll go." Sasha didn’t hesitate to comply with his demand.

When Sasha stepped out of his ward, Dominique immediately grabbed his phone, dialing Athena’s number.

Her phone rang for several seconds before it was answered.

"Hello?"

Dominique’s heart skipped a beat as soon as he heard Athena’s voice.

"Athena... I miss you."

There was a moment of silence.

Athena didn’t know how she would respond to Dominique. She was still bothered by the fact that Vladimir tried to hurt Dominique because of her.

’I have to admit that I don’t want him to die. But it doesn’t mean that I have forgiven him. It’s just that... killing him is not part of my revenge plan.’

After gathering her emotions, Athena finally found her voice to speak up. "H-How are you? Do you feel better now?"

"My body is still aching," he admitted. "Can I see you now? Are you available?" Dominique suddenly blurted out, expressing his desire to meet her.

Athena fell silent once more. She was analyzing their current situation.

"I can’t go there. Sasha might catch us." Athena had the urge to visit him but she needed to be cautious since Sasha was staying in the hospital.

She couldn’t afford to raise Sasha’s suspicion against her. She had already provoked Sasha by sending photos of Dominique’s secret affair.

"She’s not here right now. Please, Athena. Can I see you even just for a few minutes?" Dominique desperately requested her.

"Okay. I’ll find a way. Just wait for me. I’m going there to meet you."

Dominique’s eyes lit up when he heard that. He felt so glad since Athena agreed to meet him.

"Thank you. I will be waiting for you. Can you bring Aaron with you?" He made another request.

But this time, Athena refused him. "I’m sorry. I can’t bring Aaron with me. He is currently spending time with his family."

Conflicting emotions flashed through Dominique’s eyes when Athena mentioned the word family.

’Aaron’s family? But we are his real family. He is our son.’

He wanted to tell her but he couldn’t say it out loud.

"Alright. Just come and see me. I will be happy to see you." Dominique had no choice but to see Aaron some other time. All he needed right now was Athena.

He thought he would die without getting her forgiveness. He needed to work hard from now on.

When the call ended, Dominique’s mind continued to wander. He had so many what-ifs.

’What if I chose to forget my revenge, maybe I would be happy living with Sabrina and Aaron.’

’What if I made a different choice, would I be able to live happily with them?’

Dominique was consumed by his own guilt and regrets. He would like to have a fresh start with Athena and Aaron. But he wasn’t sure if Athena would allow that to happen.

He was only certain that Athena was up to something. She approached him for revenge.

’Sigh. I just cross the bridge when I get there. For now, I need to make the most of the time with Athena and Aaron.’ Dominique made up his mind.

Twenty minutes later...

Dominique heard a knock outside his ward. He shifted his gaze to the door, hoping to see Athena.

"Come in!" He excitedly blurted out.

It did not take long before the door slid open. But to his disappointment, the person who entered the room was a nurse. She was there to check his condition.

The excitement in Dominique’s eyes suddenly disappeared as he looked down. He couldn’t hide the sadness he felt at that moment.

He glanced at his phone, checking the time. ’I think Sasha will be returning soon. I won’t be able to see Sab today.’

His mind was so preoccupied that he failed to notice the nurse who already reached his sick bed.

Before he knew it, the nurse suddenly gave him a quick hug. Dominique was confused for a few moments. He was about to push her away when he recognized her scent.

He gazed up only to see Athena’s charming face.

"Surprise," Athena softly said, smiling at him.

"Athena..." he mumbled, his eyes widened in shock.

Dominique was surprised since he didn’t expect Athena to disguise herself as a nurse.

Athena immediately cupped his face. "Why do you look so sad?"

"I thought you were not coming."

Athena chuckled, caressing his cheeks. Dominique just stared at her with amusement. He felt so glad since Athena was acting so sweet right now. He hoped that a moment like this would never end.

"Hmm. I told you to wait for me. Now, here I am." Athena planted a soft kiss on his cheek. "Get well soon, Love."

Dominique froze the moment he heard that endearment. It’s been so long since the last time he heard that word from Sabrina. He missed those old times.

Unable to control his emotions, Dominique pulled her into a tight hug, afraid to let her go.

"I... I miss you so much. I thought I would never see you again. Thank you for coming back."

The words he said were meant for Sabrina. His longing for her was evident in his teary eyes.

Meanwhile, Athena didn’t pay much attention to his words. She just hugged him back, trying to assess her own feelings. Part of her was glad that Dominique survived the accident.

After being satisfied, Dominique broke the hug so that he could see her face. The two locked eyes together. Before they could realize it, their bodies moved instinctively.

Athena lowered her head while Dominique moved his face closer to her while cupping her face. Soon, her lips touched his, gently pressing against his own lips as they started kissing each other.

’Damn. What am I doing? I don’t have control over my body,’ Athena lamented to herself, inwardly scolding her own self.

But Athena failed to control her own desire. She just found herself responding and matching the intensity of Dominique’s kisses.

Dominique placed his hand on the back of her head as he pulled her closer. He deepened the kiss further as if he was thirsty for her.

His lips devoured her lips hungrily, his actions mirrored his longing for her as if he hadn’t seen her for a decade.

’I can’t get enough of her. I want her. I love her. I need her.’ Dominique acknowledged his feelings.
